There was another tester that also had issues with the drain time and he found that often the filter was not touching the drain plate making then essential bottomless. When he took great care to seat the paper fully he got consistent results.

Love your work Jack. The Varia Flo although it’s an acronym it’s kind of misleading and was hoping it was an adjustable flow like the sworks or pulsar. IMHO I think Varia missed the mark on this one especially with the price of the attachments. The sworks brewer lets you not only control the flow but has different attachments but it’s almost twice the price but well worth it.

Thx for watching. I still don’t know which one to keep- Orea or Varia. Haven’t really thought about Sworks brewer. Is it that good? I have Pulsar but use it mostly for brewing cascara coffee.

@@mycoffeeshow111 I keep two sworks brewers. One at home and one in my travel bag. It’s my favorite along with the UFO at the moment. Personally I’d keep the orea for its ability to use conical or flats.

Much better than any plastic mixing with hot water! Plastic off-gases and ends up in your brew with no taste. BTW, Any navigation opposite from south is towards north center. East to west is a circle...LOL :-)

@@mycoffeeshow111 I use a ceramic Bovetta , it also has a close/open silicon so you can control when to let it drip. Pretty cool so far. I broke the first, now more careful and had it for a few years. Cheers!

Amazing as always! I must admit that I didn't always love filter and preferred espresso over filter. However, more recently, when I've been having funkier and funkier coffees, it's very apparent that filter can be incredible. I got an Orea V4 narrow when the pre-orders were available and have been using it the last few months. In comparison to a V60, with their newer bottom, I always chose the Orea. I think it's a great purchase. However, I do feel that following the pre-order, it's not great value for money. Quite a bit expensive for what it offered but hey, value is a relative term. I'm still waiting on my negotiator to try different papers. Can't wait!

Thx for watching. I really like Orea and if it wasn’t for the channel I would not buy any other brewers. Like yourself I was always a fan of espresso based coffee but since I started experimenting with drippers I really enjoy them as well. I use them usually for more expensive coffee that I wouldn’t risk to dial in for espresso.

@@mycoffeeshow111 I can absolutely relate! I do also find that expensive coffees can end up tasting better on filter because they are so full of flavour that it's nice to tame them down a little! I must admit that whilst filter is easier, it's not that easy for me. Whilst the dialing in isn't that tight when it comes to grind size, there are still so many variables! If you know what you're doing, coffee can change so much. It's an epic journey
