*Very interesting documentary about the latest developments with video colorization* ! This film is not on my Rick88888888 channel because surprisingly enough the film about Queen Wilhelmina's coronation from 1898 has been copyrighted by Beeld En Geluid!

How'd they manage THAT? Or, who was paid off? That's BS! That's beyond ALL copyright law.

@@tracylf5409 Tell that to KZbin, who have accepted this copyright claim by B&G. This is not the only case. I have run into this problem many times before. There is no possibilty to contest such copyright claims with KZbin on the basis of "public domain". Protest is only possible by stating that you own the footage yourself (which would be illegitimate).

Ik ben echt onder de indruk hoe goed deze video is opgelapt!

interesting, did you clean the film frame by frame, if you did that's a lot of work and also it's very impressive, I love the result, I'm kinda curious how did you do it though

Thanks for the interesting video. in 0:45 what is the software you have used to make the footage more clear, clean and sharp before colorization?

But the AI from Richard Zhang, Phillip Isola, Alexei A. Efros et al. is only for image colorization and not for videos?

Amazing work you've done. I'll say it again- THANK YOU! Video editing in ANY form is a nightmare, but to do what you excel at is remarkable. xx

This could potentially work. However, the problem with current AI video colorizers is that the final results, while accurate to the keyframes, often tend to have a very vague and smeary look to them which takes away from the intended immersion of the colorized video, so a lot more manual work should still be done regardless of how many objects in the video. I've been doing experiments lately with the free VFX software: Blender. I am using its Grease Pencil tool to create mattes for different objects in the video so that I can easily give them dynamic colors. There's nothing wrong with using AI to create colorized keyframes, but if I were to use AI, I'd mainly be using ones that can easily cut out different objects in videos so that I can still do manual work nonetheless to get good results

Pity that you don't show any results of your work on your channel!

@@ricksfilmrestoration5163 That's because I'm still testing my ideas (mainly the ones involving Blender) and have yet to commit them full time to another full project. However, the Dick Van Dyke colorization I've done did involve Blender in some shots (mainly the last one with Rob and Laura kissing).

Prachtig! Welke software gebruikt u voor het upscalen? En voor de stabilisatie?

You didn’t mention what the new tool was called. Were you using deoldify the whole time?
