Hahaha, right??! Holy s***!! When I first watched the concept trailer, I was repeatedly having this funny little nagging feeling almost like I’d seen it before, and I just kept on telling myself, “No, you’re being crazy, this is obviously brand new, it’s just deja-vu…” Maaan, it’s funny that my brain picked up on it in some way, but I know for a fact that I never would’ve pieced this together for myself in a million years. Who the hell figured it out????

The Jackie VS Benny movie previous to this, Wheels on Meals / Spartan X, is responsinle for the whole Beat em Up *and* VS Fighting game genres as we know them. Nishiyama did the game adaptaion of Spartan X (Kung Fu Master), then left for Capcom, expanded the Spartan X boss fights and created Street Fighter 1, then left capcom for snk and created Fatal Fury the same year SF2 came out.
