Is a 4000 series card really needed due to some software limitation or just recommended?

I saw another demo from a guy who didn't have 4000 series, and it stumbled more... choppier in places... so i think it may still "play" stuff, but the tearing and choppiness may be worse due to not using the optimized codec... you'd be stuck running a new gen VR device via a legacy support (translation) device.

The av1 codec is only supported on 4000 and amd 7000 series

Thx for the good explanation. But I have one problem. Since the new update I can´t connect my Pico 4 with USB Tethering. Maybe somebody have an idea to fix this. I use the USB tethering shortcut apk.

@@stachowi bad news, will be installing my Q3 in a couple of hours and will see for myself. Do I need to unstill everything for the Reverb G and then install the Q3? don't really want to to that incase I go back to the G2.

Not related to virtual desktop but It would be nice to have a transfer option when upgrading headsets so you can all your data and games transferred over wifi or usb c cable.

You need the iPhone 15 pro and record to external ssd then plug that into your pc for the recordings 👍

They need to update the Meta PC software for the 7000 series AMD GPU .. I have the brand new 7800 XT and Meta says I'm below minimum specs but the website supports my GTX 1080...

Meta PC Software is obsolete, don't expect any updates now that we have the quest 3 and Steam Link.

​@@misteryolo7248 yeah i max out every vr game i've played like Half Life Alyx and Boneworks.... funny tho VRchat gets laggy when high resolution avatars are around and you have to mess with the settings a little bit....Asgards Wrath 1 is nice on PC maxxed out. Contractors VR, Subnautica, even Kayak... although you can crank that up even higher than max and it starts lagging.. for the most part its max pretty much any game i've played on it. Even Cyberpunk with high fps, and MW3 at Extreme Settings locked at 144 fps most of the time ...
