@@GravenProductionsTMThey’re great. The M340i gets all the love because of the hype around the B58, but that car doesn’t compare as far as the sound and the driving experience. Yes Its a great car with a great engine, but the steering feel and communication from the chassis is garbage in comparison, the exhaust Sounds dull after hearing the C43, the car as a whole feels more numb and less engaging. It is nice that it’s offered in rwd and comes with an lsd. I’d still pick it over the C43 and S4 just because it’s going to be more reliable, cost less to maintain and modify, has a harder aftermarket, and a few other things, but Its half the experience of a C43 and feels like half the car after driving it. You get real emotions and you feel real excitement From the C43, the M340i feels more sterile and more like a computer

I have a 15 e400 with the v6tt. It sounds awesome sounds like it’s straight piped on cold starts but then quiets down more then the 43amg’s when you go more then 50% throttle sound wakes back up love it

Akrapovic, maybe downpipe or straight pipe. Edit: Downpipe and straight pipe only make the car powerful. If you don't want that, just change the exhaust.

Guys don’t blame Mercedes, blame regulations. Mercedes would have some sort of V6 still in their amg lite performance cars if it wasn’t for this. I’m guessing workers at Mercedes are annoyed as customers are for having to try and replace a V6 with a i4 that sort of sounds like a vacuum. And if people are like ‘S4 and M340i have a 3.0’, Mercedes is the first one to make this change and this is why it’s such a shock, im guessing future rivals will do the same. Plus everyone expects high cause it had a V6 making Mercedes try and make the most of a 4 pot, but if you look at this car on its own, it’s probs the best 4 pot saloon car you can buy even if it has changed the C-class amg image. That’s just my opinion

I hear you, everyone loving on the B58, but the v6 biturbo is an absolutely fantastic engine. Reliable, powerful and smooth. It’s a narrow V, so it doesn’t even have a balance shaft which makes it’s free revving. I don’t know what the B58 has over this V6 in terms of stock powertrains….because this V6 is amazingly well enginerded. For instance it has a 3 stage centrifugal separator on the PCV valve which has massively improved the rate the valves coke up. It’s so well nailed down. But everyone thinks you need an i6 to have a smooth v6, but you gotta drive this V6 because it’s smooth as silk.

4 cylinder sounds like a tin can. V6 has more deep sound. Imo tuned 4cyl. Vs tuned v6, v6 will smoke that 4 cylinder all day.
