Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed the video! I'll use this pinned comment as a way to add little *updates* on the video, wether it's new findings or patch changes! 3/8 It appears you can get the old OOS Max punish from a throw, but the timing is very strict. You have to delay the first heavy slightly while moving in that direction. I couldn't replicate it myself, but know it's possible. Thanks Oakne for the info!

Akuma lol I don’t get mad when I lose. I get mad when I lose and the guy on the other end starts spamming me with messages saying how much I suck and gloating about how good he is. Happens to me almost every time I lose. People who play this game are mostly assholes tbh. Just sayin. I also get mad when I come up against an Orochi light spammer whom are almost impossible to block on console because of how fast they are. Pisses me off. It’s fucking retarded.

Few things to note: ~you have to buffer your top heavy input in order to land it after a fully charged bash lands. ~they removed armor from the charge up animation for wardens bash. It now only shows up once you start moving. ~Top unblockable seems to have little to no gb vulnerability frames in start up. Might be useful for landing it on someone who often responds with feint into GB. ~when you do a forward OOS throw you can get a zone into the top heavy. but the timing is a lil tight. ~You can actually catch proper rolls and dodge into roll by canceling your first bash and then going for a second.

@-floky-49676 жыл бұрын
funstrem he doesnt have the 50/50 anymore
@EGB_4696 жыл бұрын
Yes he does, you just have to hard feint the bash into a GB. This is almost exactly the same speed as the soft feint before. Mege even does it in this video a few times. Plus, allowing warden to move a bit before being feinting is a 50/50. When you see him move you have to guess if he lets it fly or feints it.
@vicepresidentfru1tly6 жыл бұрын
He never had a 50/50. Shoulder bash mix up was escapable 100% of the time with a roll. Now they gave him a means of chasing down rollers, but nerfed the uncharged shoulder bash. He's never had a true vortex and still doesn't.
@EGB_4696 жыл бұрын
Just because the mixup isn't enforced doesn't mean it didn't/doesn't exist.
@vicepresidentfru1tly6 жыл бұрын
A mixup you can escape the same way every time isn't a worthwhile mixup. It sure as shit isn't a vortex. Warden only has 50/50s against out of stamina opponents. Then again, who doesn't?

@heccmcgee43526 жыл бұрын
I know there's probably a lot of warden mains here and I'm expecting a lot of bias but doesn't it seem a bit bullshit that wardens full charge shoulder bash not only tracks like crazy but it also has hyper armor? Like i thought having the hyper armor was ok just because it's hard to actually get it off but Jesus the tracking is crazy when i play and in videos i watch. I'm not saying it isn't reactable but holy shit the tracking
@alessandragonzales81906 жыл бұрын
It's not (just) the tracking that makes it really good, it's the variable cancel. The Warden never has to commit to the bash.
@heccmcgee43526 жыл бұрын
Alessandra Gonzales i know but that's not my issue. My issue is I'll dodge right when I'm supposed to or I'll roll around a corner and still get tracked and it covers a crazy distance like damn it basically has no downside
@SolusLupi6 жыл бұрын
The charged tracking feels a bit too good since the dash attack is meant to catch rolls, most of the time there is no reason right now to have the mental capacity to feint into the dash as the charge will just magically track sometimes.
@footlettuce19476 жыл бұрын
That’s why you have to time your dodges correctly if you dodge mid way through his wind up animation it’s gonna get you same for if you dodge earlier. That’s why it’s a 50/50 you have to dodge right before he lets the gaurdbreak button go.
@heccmcgee43526 жыл бұрын
BoardGaming- Ark again I know this but thats not my issue. Like it's just how far it tracks and how it's like heat seeking on the smallest fuck up. That and the warden doesn't even have to follow through with it. And the hyper armor

Depending on your Stamina I don't recommend the "optimal 60/70 damage" OOS punish, neither for parries nor throws. Warden now has Raider's ability to pressure an OOS opponent with an unblockable mixup. If you can kill them with 70 damage(a bit less than 3 bars of health), great, do it. If not consider doing a top heavy into top heavy unblockable for 80 damage, the unblockable takes a long time to pull off and has a decent feint window, meaning you can potentially just get 80 damage if not parried or feint it and if they parry you get another parry OOS knockdown for a total of 110 damage. You can use this mixup to down them multiple times. Now this won't always work and can be reacted to. It's all about putting the pressure on them by pulling it off once. Opponents can however try and dodge this or just decide not to parry. The first case scenario isn't difficult to break through, simply feint into guard break, this is a safer option but it gives you 100 instead of 110 damage, it costs more stamina(you regenerate less of it) and applies a bit less pressure on the enemy. The second is either extremely easy or kinda tough, many opponents will simply predict what you're going to do, and guess that you want to knock them down again, or they might be willing to take the 40 damage. In this case, hit them. A calm and ready opponent will be looking to react to what you're doing, this is a tougher situation but I would still recommend just letting them parry you. Yes, you're losing out on damage in this case but you're also conditioning them to believe you are more likely to not feint your finisher so the next time you're in that situation they're more likely to act based on prediction than reaction. If you find the enemy to be impossible to mind game you might not be feinting late enough or they're just 2 gud, in which case revert to reliable punishes.
@RazorIsEpic6 жыл бұрын
I can confirm, I still consistently do the old OOS punish. Side heavy -> Top UB works for me.
@T8-TR6 жыл бұрын
I feel like the new Warden is... okay? Their SB seems unsafe on whiff, which is bad (especially since Conq has no repercussions for pretty much a stronger version), and their unblockable mixup is... meh. Without some sort of soft feint and such a bad feint window, it isn't going to fool anyone.

Throw max punish 70and safe: throw between left or right and behind, as in diagonally between the two, with two side heavies for 70. The first side will track so no dash required. Throw angle is tricky but I'm sure the wardens can get it down, my original source for this punish is havoc.

Highly informative and incredibly useful. I'll be damned if I can remember and implement this all in-game though, it takes me ten seconds to formulate a good plan of attack, not a tenth of a second. The depth and strategy of fighting games endlessly fascinates me, but I wish there were a turn-based way to play somehow...

I have a question. If you see it great I hope it’s good enough of a question to get made into a video because that bit in the end was inspirational honestly because that’s how I’ve been playing this game. I try to learn. That’s why I like this game more than others. BUT my question is how do I keep a good consistency with multiple characters? I switch between Warden, Valkyrie, and Orochi. I would like to play as others but I started with Warden, did REALLY good as him and then decided to switch to Valkyrie and then I got really good as her too and then decided to play Orochi but as soon as I started getting good at him I started getting g horrible as the other two. I came to the conclusion that it was because my mind was having a hard time switching between the drastically different play styles and it makes me mad because I want to be able to play as all three without worrying about getting bad at them. If that makes sense to anyone
@phaseblade25836 жыл бұрын
I know most of you guys probably won't agree with this but in my opinion warden no longer feels like warden. his moves remind me of shawman, but he can pressure the opponent to do something but that something ends up being counterd. you can't fight him and even if you win you don't have enough health for another oponant. At the current moment I think warden is a bit to op and I hope ub changes him so he isn't like that. Before you say i don't like him because you haven't tryed him I'm a rep 31 level 14 warden and I have played him ever since the rework, but I'm changing characters because I now think he is cheap and out of place.

asking myself "why did he beat me?" Oh yeah wait it's because I'm a pleb and I'm not able to parry every light in the game. :D good guide I need to re-learn the crushing counter timing I haven't played warden in a long time.

A proper knight would never charge an opponent with his shoulder when he has a perfectly capable longsword. Give us a proper knight hero ubi. For god's sake you're a French company. French knights were the glorious deus vult warriors this game needs.

Amazing video! Today I learned that you can chain a top light after crushing counterstrike. Also, I hope I can meet you on the battlefield some day for some Warden vs Warden action ;D

i have a generell question. i played for honor a lot when it came out, but since then i lost my interest in it more and more until i completly stoped playing it. for my personal reason it was, that i thought the game is unbalanced. even i would consider myself as an pretty tilt proof player, at the end i couldnt resist it bcs of the unfair mechanics in the game at this time. but i never lost interest completly. i still watched many high lvl players playing the game and i just waited for the day the game would be balanced so i can come back. after some reworks, specially your warden rework guide, my question is now: in your own personal opinion, is the game balanced enough to revisit it? Ps: Great Guide ♥

Very good guide! I'll try your Tips! But I have a question:what is the best/best looking execution for warden in your opinion?

This rework has improved my matches as warden sooooo friggen much. I found it hard to hit dodging opponents before valiant charge. And the top unblockable helps win so many team fights now.

Warden is finally decent after a long time but people still keep complaining that he sb is broken unbelievable man I give 2 weeks to everybody get used to the new warden and will stop 80% of the people complaining. Great video btw Mege

Sometimes people can predict the rushing slash. To make it less predictable switch it up a bit try Valiant Breakthrough. Ofcourse they can parry or find a different way around but its atleast an idea ive tried and succeeded with it in 1v1.
