Yesterday, i tried this out. It was perfect. Just like you described. The ball landed a bit past the pin and rolled back a yard or so. Usually i get very tense and flounder in the ssnd.

I've been using this technique in my last couple of rounds and it works FANTASTICALLY well. This is SO much easier than the more traditional method.

I like that it’s similar to the chipping technique. I actually have less of a problem with more sand…but I have had a lie in a bunker where I tried to do a shot like this and when I hit the “sand” the bounce literally skidded the club’s blade edge right into the back of the ball. You can imagine what happened after that. LOL. Thanks for this Coach! Loving it…

Have lost all confidence lately in bunkers from previously been pretty good. Tried this and was sooooo good. Thanks now I have a stock shot to work from and hopefully the scores will come back down.

Great bunker help Coach! Simple stuff because our swings can get a little contrived and out of control with certain “specialist” golf shots.

Thanks a lot for this tip, it's great, Coach! I agree that this sounds similar to chipping as it is not about steepening up any angles, but it is the opposite: shallowing. By the way I found this to be working for me 2 months ago and it is really effortless and stressless

Thanks Matt, I'll certainly give it a try. Not so sure of this technique from a pot bunker or a steep face? From that bunker and lie I'd be playing a chip shot taking the ball first. If it was compacted, then definitely a chip shot.

Anywhere before the ball 👍 in your practice, divot size will give you the answers

The first option, ie ball in centre, are you literally hitting at the ball coach? Or are you still aiming slightly behind ball?

Still hitting sand first but go experiment with it and find what works for you.
