My insurance is an HMO but it allows a yearly free visit to the HMO dieticians not outside ones (my primary care physician knew nothing about this benefit - I had to call the member office to get the info and they set up the appointment for me). Definitely take the time to contact your own insurance to see what's available. With Macros available any dietician should be able to come up with a plan tailored to you.

I haven't heard any on Medicare or Medicare supplemental insurance that covers it

I did receive the WW email. I just might treat myself to a visit. I have Medicare plus Blue Shield so I’ll try to find out if they’ll accept it. If not, it still seems like a good deal. Keep us posted if you decide to do it. Have a very Merry Christmas. 🥰

What do you think about all these weight loss and nutrition coaches who offer to do calories and macros? I feel like most charge more than 99. Do you think they are following a regular calculator to figure them out? My ins does cover alot of nutrition support which I have used in the past?

the register dietitian has a degree not just certification and like ww said it takes your over all heath into consideration . If you have other conditions and medications .. do you want to take advice from someone who is not educated enough . That is why did not take the nutrition class I did not want to be responsible for that .I think they use all your health information to decide what course to take not just a general goals for anyone .

@dishwithdee I agree whole heartedly I feel like there are few weigh loss coach who are truly qualified they just use the random calculator. When I went through my ins I had blood work showed my food log and answered lots of questions. They did pictures and measurements all before even weighing me to determine my macros.

Some insurances require a doctor referral to see a dietitian.

I would think the 1 on 1 is they want to get to know you , what health issues or concerns .
@dishwithdee10 сағат бұрын
yes as all the appointments are one on one for that price

My thought on it as a 25yr WW at goal for 23 yrs is, check with your Dr. Your insurance copay is probably cheaper. I know mine is. If your insurance doesn't cover a visit at all, this would be a great tool. I'm glad my insurance will accept it with a referral at my local hospital, because I couldn't afford their prices.

They probably wouldn't give much info if you wanted only 1 visit. So $500 for 1 year.

My healthcare provider will not cover WW dietitians.
