The reason this story makes me so sad is Elphaba longed for all her life acceptance. And then she found friendship and even love. But the people around her still considered her a monster, even though she wasn’t one. Then they took away someone she truly wanted and she turned into a monster.

When I first heard about this I had an eye roll. Same one I got when I heard Barbie was happening. Barbie is one of the best movies I've seen in ages, so perfectly well done, so I will give Wicked a chance. Production value is off the chain though and the acting is gorgeous, the sets, costumes.... I'm glad and sad to see the origin story of the Wicked Witch and to discover in this take, they were besties. Also, Jeff Goldblum has really found his groove playing the lovable, eccentric villains.

Everything sounds so subdued and lifeless. They have turned the songs into pop songs. My only hope is, this is just for the trailer.

I'm not sure on that one. I have my concerns. She was trained for musical theatre but she's been tok much in the overly auto tuned pop world for too long that I am concerned. I DO NOT want copious use of obvious auto tuning. It really grates.

I don't think its the woke casting, I think they may have killed it with auto tune and their voices being too similar.
