Question for you. What are the most important measurement's to look at in geometry frame chart for ones frame size.
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed3 ай бұрын
Stack, Reach ETT (Effective top tube) I usually find out how long I need my bike to be by using ETT+(stem length) and I find out how high my handlebarsshould be using stack height. There are other ways to do it but this one works for me. I compare thiis to my previous bike fit that worked for me. To find the size that has your measurements use the geometrygeeks website

lol the description of your channel. Quick question could where you talked about your brakes. What brakes are you running? Are they hydraulic or mechanical? Can you comment on why you chose one over the other? Also, what mount are you using for your IGPSPORT 630?
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
The channel description is 1000% accurate :) I ran hydraulic disk brakes on both the T1500's. I choose hydraulic brakes because their is no opportunity for cable stretch or lost braking pressure. They are also better for modulation so with cable brakes there is sometimes more of an on/off feeling whereas hydraulic brakes give you opportunity for minor adjustments in braking pressure. On my gravel bike I have cable brakes which operate a hydraulic caliper, they are close to as good as fully hydraulic brakes when setup perfectly but still not completely as good. This setup is basicall half cable half hydraulic, not fully cable. I chose those for the gravel bike because I didn't want to spend too much. Those brakes are nothing special but they definitely still work. The mount I used on the white bike is the carbon fiber mount that comes with the Winspace Zero integrated handlebar and stem. It screws neatly into the bottom. On the black bike I am using a mount from a brand called GUB because those bars and stem dont have a place to screw a mount under the stem so you need to use one that screws onto the face plate of the stem. I bought it in China but it should be available on aliexpress, or sth similar should be on aliexpress.

I got the PT 180mm rotor adapter and the XTR rotor. Set the bike up for 180mm front and 160mm rear. I kept locking up the back wheel and skidding a lot. So I dropped the rear back down to the 140mm rotor and seem to have pretty good modulation evenly on the bike now. I love the 180mm on the front and I quit using Shimano pads too. I have been using the MTX Red pads which I have no complaints with.

For the longer 120 - 200km rides we head off the island into the mountains, can ride forever and it's unbelievably scenic. Find me on Instagram @thexiamencyclingfeed and dm me your WeChat. Love it 🤙🏼 What height are you and what size would you ride in a mainstream brand e.g specialized?
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I am 175cm tall, with specialized's SL7 and the Winspace T1500 I am slap bang between two size parameters. Specialized's 54 frame is rated for 170 - 175 and their 56 frame is rated for 175 - 180... I would probably do the same thing I did with this black frame and choose the smaller one because it gives me the opportunity to adjust bike fit both ways while also having a slightly lighter frame.

@@TheXiamenCyclingFeed im 177 and ride a Specialized 54 which is great. The guys at winspace reckon a large frame is the right one but im thinking Medium and make up the difference with bar and stem!
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
@@Domlazarus I do have a 130mm stem on my M as a 175cm guy so you could probably get away with a large but get the straight seatpost instead of the one with the setback. You could also fit comfortably on a medium though, they say it's good for someone up to 178 on the Winspace size guide. Also if you're used to running smaller frames medium would be better. Enjoy the bike when you get it!

I liked the white one much better, but nice bike and yes I’ve been always told ride a smaller frame. I can ride a 54 but the ideal one will be a 52. Needless to say I will build kind of the white bike you had, they just don’t have my size, there are riders promoting this frame and the factory is giving them a 100 bucks discount code to offer on their vids.

I'm 175, this one is definitely faster up climbs because it's lighter and it is more aerodynamic and easier to handle round corners because it's a smaller frame, the geometry is the same as the white frame though.

Hi Simen, here is a link to their sizing guide... www.winspace.cc/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Winspace_Road_Height_Guide.jpg It says an L frame is recommended for someone up to 185, however, if you want to run a more racey position with a longer stem and more seatpost then I'm sure an L will be ok.

Great and informative review on the Winspace. I'm a noob and confused on how to get a complete bike from Winspace. I was on their website and I only see frames. So you bought the frame, wheels, brakes, and handle bars from Winspace and the groupset from elsewhere?
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Winspace doesn't do full bikes from their website at the moment. I assume local dealers will be able to sell you a full bike though. Try contacting the Winpsace Instagram page and ask them if they can put you in contact with one close to you.

The question is how does it ride and is it fast?
@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
It's quite a harsh ride because of the carbon spokes and super stiff frame but I've frequently done 150+km rides on it and lived to tell the tale 😊 and the speed is why I sacrifice a bit of comfort because it's super fast... I'm lucky enough to have a set of new D45 and the previous edition 65Mm wheels for different condions too so I can have it more climbing orientated or flat road speed focussed

@TheXiamenCyclingFeed2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am South African but I live in China for now. The smaller size just gives you more options to size the bike up or down to suit you, if you try to make a bike that's too big for you smaller you get stuck 😊 Glad yours worked out, I'm loving my slightly smaller frame.
