@@VeNoMz_ they would still lack the smooth animations and variety, im excited for the new world mounts and dont really play gw2 anymore, but gw2 set the new standard for mounts. in new world it seems to be closer to what bdo has.

Mounts hmmm if they aren’t like GW2 mounts they are just skins that move fast.

Any mount with less than 10% drop rate is bad design, i know so many people who never got the ashes of alar even when doing the raid weekly on more than 3 characters for 10 plus years

Ooh man Ashes with the long dialogues , I understand your point, but it was a weekly lock and took long to clear. If there are limits involved 1% is bad, some difficult content like Hardmode Sandworm could give guaranteed mount. But you do not have a small chase and incentivize people to do a expedition beyond just gear, so they don't quit after they have the gear instead of continuing for the mount, It needs to have a fine balance, you notice this too right with the mutations only the easiest 1 gets played each week, this could bring more people to the harder expedition that week.

@@VeNoMz_ I agree with some points, but if the content is hard enough that a run lasts longer than 15 minutes the result would be a lot of people burning themselves out from chasing that one mount, it happened to me with transmog items in some games that had a low drop rate and came from current content that took effort to beat, after all if you put in the effort to do something hard 50 times but you don't get what you want, resentment starts to build up until it turns into hatred for the content/design that leads to you feeling punished by bad rng. Edit: FFXIV trials have a token system, if after 99 runs you have not acquired the mount then you just have to wait 1 patch and can buy it with the 99 tokens, that would be a much better system, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel will always be better than feeling like the suffering has no end in sight.
