One thing to expand on trade skills in regards to picking your starting class - Some have CONSIDERABLE benefit when starting fresh. Both soldier and occultist have mining and smelting. Mining is one of the most route dependent skills to level until you unlock viewing iron nodes on your minimap. As you can use any weapon you choose once you get them, starting with either of those classes might give you a big leg up on finding nodes while leveling as you will have enough points to already see them on your minimap. Another thing, Armoring/cooking are the two easiest professions to level because armoring has access to so many first time craft bonuses and cooking because low level materials won't sell for much as they're very plentiful. If you're trying to make some coin, focusing on professions OTHER than that could prove lucrative unless you're one of the first armorers/cooks to get all your crafting trophies (typically a company effort). Weaponsmithing (Soldier), Engineering (Ranger), and Jewelcrafting (occultist) are all decent money makers, especially engineering early on for quality bags and/or tools
@BraidedZero3 ай бұрын
I didn't want to get too much into picking your skills when you start out but you're absolutely right, those 3 boosts you get will be huge and impact your early gameplay. I think armoring or engineering is the way to go.

Don't forget you can play music to help with gathering yield.
@BraidedZero3 ай бұрын
I probably should have included a section on music. I felt it would add a little more to the video than I wanted. But yes, songs are a great way to increase yield amount, experience gained, speed of gathering, and even luck. It felt less reliable and a little more tedious than making/buying some food to eat or placing a trophy in your house.

Fishing, in my opinion, is more of an end game activity for prestige. You can use the fish for food but it's more about catching specific fish than to cook them

I'm looking to start the game for the first time when Aeturnum rolls out on the 15th...for the new archetypes they've set up it makes sense to me to choose that based on which trade skills I want a jump start on, since apparently I can just grab whatever weapon I want to use anyway. So my question is are there any suggestions to what may be the best trade skills to start with? Are any more specifically useful or profitable for a first trade skills to lean into? Also, your game looks sooooo much better and more detailed than many of the videos I've seen online showing off the game recently. Do you have any guide or tips for maximizing how awesome your game looks!? I want that beautiful scenery! 😍
@BraidedZero2 ай бұрын
It may take you some time to get the weapons you want but it is definitely worth it to take a 50 level boost in 3 trade skills you will actually use instead of starting with crap trade skills and two awesome weapons. If you want a boost in a trade skill that is the most difficult to level, choose fishing. That's a tough one to grind out. All others are super easy compared to that. Your gathering skills are pretty equal. Leveling all of them is about the same. Trees, rocks, and animals are everywhere so I would go with harvesting if you want the most difficult one because of limited resources. Refining isn't too difficult to level either. So the real one is crafting. I'm going engineering so I can make tools for people early. Armoring to make bags wouldn't be bad either. Honestly, it's preference though. Bags and tools will be huge in the beginning of the game. Arcana may be the sleeper choice though because it is huge with motes/quintescense, tinctures, coatings, magic weapons, and so much more. For graphics, I have no idea! I have my settings on very high. That's all I really know. I'm not a tech guy at all!

What’s the draw with this what’s is it that keeps you coming back. Are the quests any good? what are all the resources generally used for aside from weapons and armour etc ? Game looks interesting but as I’ve never played and MMO would like to understand more about the premise of the game. Thanks
@BraidedZero3 ай бұрын
I will come back to the game for a week or so, take a month or two off, and then come back. It's fun to jump in occasionally, have some fun, and move on to different games when there is nothing else to play. The quest loop is pretty good aside from a lot of them feeling similar. And resources are used for a wide variety of things from crafting to buffs. The main draw is to get to higher levels of expeditions, PvP for wars, and other PvE content.

I plan on playing this on Steam, for the first time, my friends are buying Aetureum for Xbox, do I need to buy all the games before I can play Aetureum? Or can I just buy Aetureum on Steam.
@BraidedZero3 ай бұрын
If they buy it on console everything is included ($60). To do it on Steam you must own the base game and the angry earth DLC. The base game is $30 and the DLC is $30 so it's the same price. I believe there is a bundle for $60. Just make sure you have that.

Its quite the opposite, prices will be high fir the first 2 weeks, reasons are: no stock, tools are low tier(no yield or gathering speed) and everyone focused on leveling
@BraidedZero3 ай бұрын
Maybe. In my experience, when the game first came out I was selling on the market a lot and so much stuff was on the market that prices were crazy. Cheap one day with a lot of supply and expensive the next with no supply. I think this time it will be different because you'll have experienced PC players, like me, who will flood the market early to make a ton of gold. I don't know if low tier tools will affect this. It'll be interesting to see.
@BolsaPTeEUA3 ай бұрын
@@BraidedZero we didn't played the same start 😂 it's not about experienced players, it's about goals. You wanna farm at the start, I wanna reach 65 and level my professions fast. In the beta was the same thing, go 30 fast then feed the ones that are going for the crafting. They will recoup their prices, if you are a farmer, you will make a ton at start also. The 50% of the server quits, and prices will still get lower and lower, because of tools, trophies and farming gear. It's a cycle, farmers will make lots of coin, crafters also. You will see rawhide rounding 2 coin each far away from the 0.30 we have in legacy servers.
@not_hoodie3 ай бұрын
@@BolsaPTeEUAI plan on leveling to around 20-30 and just gathering to sell and make coin. It was so hard to make coin imo when the player base died. Couldn’t do dungeons with groups because nobody was on and you can’t use the market because nobody was buying. I’m hoping this time people stay, but in order for that we need to group up and be friends.
@BolsaPTeEUA3 ай бұрын
@@not_hoodie well, I won't farm nothing except motes until I reach 65. Then I'll buy tools from faction shop and gather stuff. They changed somethings in crafting stations, now jewellery it's easier to level because fusing and cutting gems is not stonecutting. I'll make my coin through that and pvp. Will not waste time farming. Don't forget, there's nothing in the market, so crafting gear will be expensive, which means farming it will be profitable if you enjoy PVE.

What's max gathering 200? Edit: must be 250? Sweet.
@Scalleywag3253 ай бұрын
250 is the maximum for each category, then they go into Aptitude levels. You start at Aptitude level 1, and there will be 3 pips around the meter to hit before you ultimately level up to Aptitude level 2. After each level up, you receive an Aptitude reward box with rewards geared towards that type of craft/gathering category (loosely). There is no limit to the maximum aptitude level you can obtain, so you will continue to collect more reward chests with each new aptitude level.

@Scalleywag3253 ай бұрын
@@jaysonbird3975 Sadly, no. Max level is 60 currently…65 with the purchase of the Angry Earth expansion for PC players. With the Oct 15th release, console players will already be getting both the game and Angry Earth expansion bundled in plus the new Aeternum stuff. So the increase from 60 to 65 will be included. Unless I missed it somewhere or they are hiding the feature, there isn’t a form of extra leveling bonus after 65 like the Aptitude system. Would be nice tho for some form of rewards still.
