The bow doesn't cause targets to bleed by default. Your bow has a perk that causes bleed on crit, which you can see at 7:49 in the video

It was the last weapon I thought too play after a lot of planning and testing but then a blue one dropped and I gave it a shot. Love it. It’s very satisfying to land a hit and does beast damage. Paired with the rapier.

I love bow. I pair it with Rapier or Spear. It’s so much more adaptable then Musket (though musket is cool as hell).

It should be noted that while early game you can easily get away with light armor, most later game rare, epic, and legendary gear with dex is medium. Apparently the devs want mages to use light (int, focus), the rogues and rangers to medium (dex, con), and the warriors to use heavy (str, con).

You can change the stats on your faction Armour to whatever you want, but im unsure about end game stuff.

So at higher level, Bow kinda sucks for questing. It has certain situations it is alright, like when your not in a small area, or if monsters are spread up enough so you only have to fight one or two of them. But I feel like AGS decided that bow and musket were supposed to be secondary weapons and didn't even think about them when they designed quests. I've so far been able to manage to get to level 52, but I ever since like level 45, I die fairly cause you can't escape the enemy's much, especially since instead of making one monster take more skill to kill, they just instead make you fight four+ of them at a time, and alot of shield guys, so you can't really do damage unless you land a charged shot on them, which is easier said then done when you are being attacked by four of them. I love bow, but if you haven't made it to that level just be prepared for an annoying repeat nightmare later levels. They also should buff poison shot and evade shot.

I killed the lvl64 shattered mountain bear being only lvl45 myself during beta using just the bow and dodge rolls. You can solo anything with the bow and light armor, the only question is how long it will take.

@@piktasniekas8124 Beasts and Corrupted are fine, because they are weak to pierce, and you can hit them really hard. But all the other types of enemies, only take like 700 damage, have a bunch of skills that are meant to be blocked, since you can't out roll them and keep up stamina to roll on their next attack. Alot of them have AoE skills that they place on the ground, or ranged attacks that you got to constantly move back and forth to dodge. And the respawn times are so bad, by the time you kill the group that aggro'd on you the first couple ones you killed respawn, and aggro on you. If you fight a monster solo, it's fairly easy to kill them, but if you get more then 2 on you, it's damn near impossible. And later on almost all mobs are in groups of 3+

this is by far my favorite weapon in the game like i can change my rapier spear hatchet buy my bow will always stay on my back. it gives insane damage, 2 knockbacks, mobility and poison for aoe it literally have it

Does the DOT from Poison Shot only apply when standing in the initial green area, or does it keep ticking if the mob leaves that area?

I don't know if the bow is bugged but when I charge it, it does not do any more damage. Really dont understand this weapon, the hipfire is slower than aiming down sights as well.

I play full archer and I can tell you it's best to play in full light gear not only for the damage increase but also being able to roll is extremely helpful as an archer as it helps keep distance fast between you and your enemy. Also can I suggest trying bow/hatchet that's the build I play and if you for what ever reason can't keep the distance ie in a building for example the hatchet is extremely fast at killing mobs

@@Techsupportguy111 all dex as hatchet scales of dex and strength and bow is only dex so made more sense for me to put all points in dex, I’ve also put about 5 points in constitution. Only because as I’m an archer if someone breaks the gap and gets a couple of hits in I have a little bit of hp to get back into a favourable position with my bow

Do more dmg when player is at 100% hp seems pretty good. You can start off first shot with some crazy dmg, especially when you have multipliers for dmg like more dmg after dodge and more headshot dmg. Literally today i saw a dude on stream do 3,5k+ crits on lvl 48

If you're at all interested in the bow I'd say give it a shot. Turkeys spawn in bulk in certain areas and killing ~5 of them should be enough for about 200 arrows if not more

Man, I really don't like any of the active abilities for the bow. The splinter-shot and rapid fire moves just feel bad to use. Neither of them are fired in aim-mode and the splinter-shot A: splits into 3 after the point where it would have impacted with an enemy most of the time, B: does less damage than a normal arrow, and C: obviously you can't actually reliably hit two or three people with it. enemies aren't going to line up at precicely the right angle for you to pull that shit off. Rapidfire just seems to miss a lot because it doesn't let you aim it. Posion Gas Arrow is pretty good, but penetrating arrow doesn't... really matter? Because enemies rarely line up neatly for you, obviously. I seriously hope they swap some of these abilities out for something more useful, or just give us more active abilities to choose from. We can have three set at a time, so give us five attacks per skill-tree. Let us pick and choose our own builds.

Splinter shot, you should be aiming to hit just 1 target with all of the 5 arrows - that's a very strong and a very difficult to hit ability (outside of shooting massive enemies like dungeon bosses, you have roughly about half a meter margin of error in distance at best). As said in the video, really not recommended for beginners. Rapidshot most definitely allows you to aim it - every shot goes to where you're aiming at the moment of firing, so you just need to track your enemy while the 3 shots go out. High dps ability, but it really requires you to plan before pressing it, as once you're locked into the long animation, you're there until you finish it. My goto build is poison shot (1 point), rain of arrows (2 points) and splinter shot (all 3 points).

@@piktasniekas8124 ... Splinter shot really doesn't feel worth the effort. If it fired all five arrows immidiately, then you could use it as a shotgun, although in that case it should just be a short-range cone-shaped aoe instead of a spray of projectiles. The fact that it splits into five arrows after ten meters feels needlessly finicky. No other skill in the game takes that sort of stupid positioning setup to make work.

You would need to put gems on the bow to make it scale with INT. It's the only way to make it viable. And even so, your bow would be your secondary weapon.

One thing to realize is that Dex is not the only way to scale the damage. For instance, you can damage convert to Lightning and scale INT.

I don't think it's worth always getting the best arrows. Flint arrows are SO much easier to get than the iron ones. That 1.0 vs 1.05 dmg difference is just not worth it to me. Especially when you are just out there leveling.

It is possible with the use of gems, making the bow scale with INT instead of DEX. However, you will have to be very skilled and have really good aiming or you will not be effective at pvp.

hate both the musket and bow. its completely useless in OPR, misses 99% of all shots and get wrekt by melee in like 2 seconds. Very unbalanced game
