Ultimate performance power plan sets your minium CPU usage to 100% causing large amount of increase in electric bill and it will cause your thermal paste to die in no time making you only needing to change it faster. It will disable some other power plans and your computer to never shut down. Dont use. Disabling steam Library community features pushes you into shoebox where you dont see any news about your game or its updates. Setting up nvidia Texture filtering to high quality will cause performance loss? Doesnt it?

its unfortunate that they dont have an "Off" option for shadows. "Low" Shadows looks absolutely awful because shadows only render to about 15 around you. You will find areas where you stand in the middle of 30 foot radius circle that is shaded, where everything outside of that is super bright with no shadows. Super immersion breaking and distracting.

You might want to be careful recommending overclocking with this game, there are videos coming out showing how it spikes the voltage and can override built in safety limits on certain cards to damage them.

Not just overclocking but using Furmark as well. Anyone familiar with PC benchmarking can tell you that program is infamous for overloading GPUs and CPUs and can often cause damage if not outright killing the part.

100% worth doing most of this. I was perfectly fine through the first week after launch, consistent 60fps eveywhere (on a GTX 1070) and the last few days I couldn't even walk into everfall without just shit loads of frame spikes. I'm now currently in a super populated everfall and the lowest I dip is 50, whereas I used to dip to about 3 when first entering the city.

Hey awesome video, but you kinda forgot to say that when you click "search for updates", your Windows gets internally marked as a "seeker". As a "seeker" you tend to get updates like the printer update a few months ago which ruined gaming performance by a lot, very very early. I would recommend to NOT/NEVER click the button, because you get the regulary updates every tuesday. Also the GPU-Overclocking is not really free in lands where kW/h costs much money like in germany, you can see gpu-overclocking on your wattage-meter.

3:42 don't do that, After that I've always had 100% CPU usage which is insane, a lot of fps drops (especially in towns), change minimum processor state to 1% in power plan settings (advanced options), you will avoid CPU throttling and fps drops. After I changed from 100% to 1% I got like +20-30fps in towns, bcs of throttling. Btw nice video

This makes no sense. If you have min. And max. Processor state at 100% then the cpu can't be throttled/dynamically changed? If your pc is overheating from your cpu running at 100% then you really need to change your case for one with better airflow, or clean out any dust, install more fans, make sure the cpu fan is good enough and seated properly with thermal paste.

I'm on an MSI laptop with RTX 2060 G card, for some reason I'm going at like 30 FPS... and recently after doing things from this video it's gone down to 15 FPS outside of town. Possibly because of overclocking as I read that is not advised for laptops. I've removed overclocking and re-checking steps in this guide. Anything you can recommend? Probably you trying to Overclock your GPU. Also you should take notes that most things will work here regardless to what type of system you have and are running. Trying to squeeze and bottleneck your PC or Laptop just to get the ultimate graphics and performance at the same time will harm your product. You also know how your PC or Laptop is, this is for optimization, not a PC Booster. Go back to rewatch the video to undo what youve done, then take it step by step.

Texture quality is option which uses mostly memory, I see almost no change in FPS between low and very high on my 8gb gpu memory. Running it with undervolted 1070Ti.

The “Set Low Latency Mode to Ultra…” got me a bit nervous. But I might be missing something? This option hasn’t been great to use other than when playing really high FPS/Low req games like CSGO etc. It’s supposedly very CPU intensive, especially set to Ultra and can actually decrease performance quite a bit (depending on the game and CPU). the one wrong thing i find in every one of your videos is "choose the highest resolution available to you:" you mean the native resolution available to your monitor if your machine can run it my monitors only run 1920x1080 yet they have the option for 3840x2160 (4k resolution) both of my monitors are 165hz 1920x1080 so it'd be unreasonable to choose 3840x2160.

Question for ya @Panjno. I'm not very tech savvy (which is why I'm watching this vid ha), and I've got a i7-8700k 16 RAM and a 2080 card. I have never experienced my PC getting hot before New World but when I uncap the FPS, it gets pretty hot to the touch and I can hear my cooling fan working a bit harder. I could be paranoid, but is this an issue? my GPU and cores fluctuate between like 72C-88C temp (before watching this vid, haven't tested after applying some of these settings yet, I had a lot of them already as the vid shows). Also, my 6 core usage percentages seem kinda weird (again, not a tech person so I could sound dumb here). I will have like 2 using about 70%, 2 using about 50-60%, and 2 using about 40-50%. Shouldn't they all be using about the same amount? Great vid btw.

Those temps are fine. 88c is a little on the warmer side but I wouldn't worry much. If I were you I'd set a fa curve in afterburner. As far as the CPU goes most of not all MMOs are CPU intensive so it wouldn't be uncommon for your CPU utilization to be higher.

I did all this and now I cant even go into the game, it'll show the loading screen and the sounds and menu will show but the loading screen stays

The ultimate performance system power setting works really well. But disabling full-screen optimization and DPI scaling dropped my FPS by 15%.

OMG!! ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!!! it was so bad that eventually my audio would start to "stutter". previously, just to try "something", i was in 1024x768. after the changes, i'm in max resolution AND getting a better framerate. i was running around low 20's FPS. now, consistently 55-60 and spikes to 65. much appreciated!!!

Man I don't understand I was getting 120 FPS on full cities, now it goes to 30 !!! And I'm on a Ryzen 9 5950x with an RTX 3090

I have a ryzen 3600x and radeon 5600xt and running pretty much all medium settings with high texture, low water and I get 100+fps out in the world and 30-50fps in town on a high pop server.

Changes made it worse somehow. The FPS got boosted but i constantly freeze my game now and can't run the highest resolution else it instantly freezes :(

ive got a ryzen 7 3700x and an rx 6600 xt, and i dont get the best of fps. i am playing at medium 1440p and its quite choppy at times, im not upgraded to the driver they recommend as when i did it felt even worse with a bunch of micro stutters here and there
