I got super lucky on fishing one time and got some nice gems in chest along with some rare metals in one star fishing location, its going to be super rare but worth considering at higher fishing level spots where chances are higher (if you like fishing) :)

Will fishing treasure chests be a compareable source of gems???

pros and cons to both. Fishing will give you higher tier gems than you can harvest early game also they are usually already cut. This is not useful for early level jewel crafting.

The gather speed for Iron Pickaxe for example ranges from 125-225 which is quite i big difference. Is it just random when you craft it or what determinates how much gather speed you get?

Its if you get an uncommon roll of the item and the higher level engineering you are means you will get a better one!

idk if youll see this because the video was a week or so ago but is this a good way to try to find gems? ive done fishing for right around maybe 2 hours in total and i feel like ive found more gems from treasure crates than i would just trying to mine. anyone else?

The tracking of mining nodes was useless for me in the beta, was only like a 10 meter range and by that point they're hard to miss. If only they upped the range for it like they have with the other gathering.

Ya pretty useless, only good if they hiding like under a cliff or some something kinda blocking them otherwise you see them long before they pop up.
