while I was hoping this video would cover perk prio and a more end game goal gearing mindset, this seems helpful to new players. I would just add, while salvaging you can actually also hold ctrl+c to quick salvage without the little message popping up. Saves a lot of time when deleting in mass, especially blues greens greys, and when leveling your professions.

I want to dive into perk prioritization for you all, but I'm just not there yet in my own knowledge and comfort with presenting the information. I'm human and will make mistakes, but video lasts way longer then a written guide so I'm trying my best to give the best info at the time, and sometimes that means I just need more time with the game. But yes, this is something I've been studying and I'm also at the same time, don't want promote some type of "meta" that can and will change. Also, I did talk about the ctrl+c for salvage :)

Gear score is a solid indication of your total stats at 60. Gear Score 500 items, for instance, have +20 single stat while a 590 has +29, so a higher Gear score means a higher raw amount of attributes. But if, like me when I first hit 60, you decided to go and buy 590+ Gear to bump me up enough to run Genesis and Tempest, then you may end up with stats divvied into attributes that don't help you much, and with traits that aren't great for your role or weapons, which definitely has an impact on your performance, and this is true even later on. Gear score means more raw numbers to work with but a good build means attributes and traits, not just attribute totals. That's how I've been deciding my gearing the last few days since hitting 60. Gear score matters a lot to me so long as the item I'm equipping has attribute bonuses I need. For now, I've mostly ignored traits, instead prioritizing dungeon and world drops that work well enough to replace the stuff I bought while I save up to invest in a set of crafted 600 gear.

Great video as always. I run solo for the most part and some of your gearing tips will definitely help in Brimstone. Being one or two shot by the fire archers is getting old so upping my Con and Armor rating is what I did yesterday. Ironically I spent a bit of time yesterday organizing all storage inventory by region, crafting specialty and tier levels. Leather working is in Ebon, cooking in Everfall, etc. I wouldn't mind seeing you do a video on how you apply foods, potions and coatings for expeditions and/or free roaming? Cheers!

Really ?? Simple ! The food of your choice depending on your stats . Honing stones on every expédition. Appropriate coating on wep for the type of monsters.... lost are the ghost type like BB , corrupted the demon type like dynasty and tempest, ancient are the skeleton like lazarus .

@@maximeallard5282 Thanks! I'm assuming as you level and go into tougher areas you have to use stronger honing stones, potions and coatings, even if they're beyond your ability to craft them? Prices on some of these items is a bit extreme so I'm more regularly using stuff I can craft or afford.

@@Nightmoss yeah exactly , i think theres 3 or 4 levels of honing Stones and potions . Youll find plently of mats to make them dont worry , when you get higher lvl it becomes pretty easy to do

Hey new to the game I just level 42 I think. I was wondering what are some good xp alternatives when questing gets to be boring? I just found out about Amrise and Starstone and those were both super fun, but is the xp/items worth it at all or should I be doing something else?

Be sure to grab the repeatable quests outside the dungeon to be able to really upgrade your XP per run

Can you explain the differences in gear score with Light, Medium and Heavy aspects and the classes associated with them?

Gear score is a rating for the gear, the higher the score the higher the potential stats, but for light, med, heavy, you'll get different doduges, buffs or debuffs depending. For example, being a caster/healer in light gear = greatness, but you can still go heavy gear, but you'll healing power will be cut by 30%

I hate the armoring system, good idea on using storage for load outs, I do something similar. But the gearing is ridiculous to figure out. I need armor with wards for each type, also each piece of armor needs to have to perks related to the weapon I am using. Even though they say that damage typed don't matter that much, they still do to a degree. Then I have to decide what weight armor, used to be all heavy, couldn't survive M's with light, now all of a sudden, light is the in thing. I don't really pvp that much and would like to run dungeons but I don't want to be that one guy holding up the group, Seems like I have to have 5 different sets of armor and multiple of same weapon types to go with the sets. Then there is crafted vs dropped..... it's a never ending cycle of confusion

Absolutely agree, hate having to switch out armor and weapon sets just to play specific parts of the game. I get needing to do it for professions, but having to switch out for raids/PvP/different world bosses/etc. on top of that making sure I have certain perks for very "specific situations" is very mind numbing. It would just be nice if there was more universal gear sets imo.

You use umbral shards to upgrade items from 590 to 625. You get umbral shards from gypsum boxes and mutation dungeons, and some if the new quests.
