A legendary athlete. Hard to appreciate the depths of pain she must drag herself through to push the pace late in these races. Massive respect.

I'm glad Titmus finally finished on the friendly side of the hundredths. She's had so many near misses while chasing world records. The Australian announcers were a bit overconfident as the race progressed. Titmus typically closes fast but some of that is going to be sacrificed when you take it out much quicker, as she did here.
@garrywallace10072 жыл бұрын
The WR line is also ''averaged'' over the race; so the dive start gets you ahead of the line for a few laps, and the fatiguing last lap speeds up the line....

It stinks that Ledecky is falling off now... I wouldve liked to see them go head to head when they were both in their primes.

22 years ago my U10 son was in the AUS swim races. In his first heat, he took off .5 to get lane 4 in the finals. He came up to my Mother (who put in the hours of morning /afternoon delivery of training) After the race and told her "Don't worry Nan, I'll get them". I watched him for two hours in the area for his team. I'd made him sure he was hydrated. He was in serious thought at such a young age. In the final race, he took off another 1/2 second. Australian champion.
