Here is the thing. There is no where near enough cons on the Tenere 700 to prevent someone from buying it. If you ride remote off road areas and some pavement buy the Tenere 700 simple.

I mean weight is a pretty big cons to ride remote off road

I’ve owned many bikes, mostly crotch rockets and dirt bikes. This particular bike made me fall back in love with motorcycles. Genuinely, the T7 is incredible

I enjoyed your review but vehemently disagree with your thesis that traction control is necessary on a road bike. I've been riding for more than 20 years and consider myself a very experienced road rider and an A-group track rider who built up my skills from scratch. Traction control only provides an illusion of safety. In most (meaning the VAST majority) of road accidents, traction control did not (or would not) have saved the rider. This is because most accidents occur when the riders has long since closed the throttle, when all forms of traction control basically do nothing. The best way to keep yourself safe on the road is to ride defensively and improve your riding skill. I've owned almost a dozen bikes over the years, all without traction control and most without ABS (not even counting my racebikes where i remove all ABS systems and have zero traction control) so trust me when i say they are mostly useless systems for safety, and only give a false sense of security to less experienced riders. I will avoid buying bikes with such systems wherever I can, and this is why I have a world rally version of the tenere on order (maybe you can review that one next since the suspension is better on it)

I've ridden the tenere over 10 thousand km and I really didn't notice any problems when cornering at higher speeds and this is my tenth bike, the fact that it's top heavy is true, the fact that it's high is also true. That the shocks are hard and uncomfortable is just bullshit. I'm not saying they're perfect by any means, the shocks are average at best, they don't have a long travel, they're rather too soft and I would imagine they'd work better off-road - but they're certainly not uncomfortable or too hard. More people are complaining about the cap not being attached, I still haven't figured out what the problem is - since there is a key in the cap you really don't ride without the cap, when refueling you put it on a stand or on the bike - yeah it could be attached but it really doesn't cause problems when it's not. The fact that the wheels are tube type has its advantages and disadvantages. If you need traction control on a bike that's slightly over 70hp you have no business on it because you obviously can't ride, the powerband is most predictable TC really isn't needed, a quick shifter would be nice, however you have to take into account the price of the bike. Personally, I'm glad that the bike doesn't have a lot of electronic crap, because I don't have to worry about something going wrong and leaving me hundreds or thousands of miles from home - however, who doesn't like it can buy a KTM and it's great that there is a choice. Expensive compared to its competition? Could you put me on here with some bikes that are just as capable off road and on road as the T7 and cost less - I'd love to see them.

Great review. It would be amazing if you can do a review for KTM790 Adventure (with the tech pack open) I'm sure it will fill in all the gaps the T7 couldn't.

Hard to turn??A Con? that's quite an ignorant statement. It has a 21 inch front wheel, and a tall suspension. This is a fact, a feature not a con LOL. Tall? again, not a con, a feature! Tubed tyres, are for offroad use, not a Con, a feature. It's a 50:50 bike. It doesnt need anything more than ABS. Traction control? LOOOL. Jesus listen to this guy!

Fuel cap I totally agree on, very cheap of Yamaha, and also I think traction control should be mandatory, but everything else I do not agree with, this is a bike that is made with a purpose, it is an off road machine that is good enough on pavement to get you to the off road bit. That the motorcycle also works great in town with great visibility and low gearing is just a plus. An iconic motorcycle.

Traction control mandatory? What's wrong with you? If you want it get a bike that has it? But why ask for more regulations? Don't we have enough government overreach already?

@@johnnyblue4799TC for a bike that's meant to go offroad LOL. Honestly, some people have no clue. One of the funnest bikes i have is my World Raid, done 2 years and 20k km on it ON/OFF road, and not once did i tell myself i wish i had ride modes, or TC. For those, i have a pure road bike, a Tracer 9 GT+
@johnnyblue4799
@johnnyblue4799 7 ай бұрын
@@nemerkhaAgreed. TC appeared first on high powered sport liter bikes with a lot of power. For those it made sense, because few riders are capable of handling those bikes. But now they put TC even on the small displacement bikes, which is overkill. The thing is, once you have the ride by wire, it's easy to do TC, because it's software only. So I wouldn't be surprised to see TC becoming mandatory in a few years, because of people with little sense and overzealous, but clueless legislators.

Had the same problem. And what is funny-not everybody notices that... Check the World Raid, due to wider tank(s) right leg is a bit more to outside and this clutch cover isn't so disturbing.

I can do without traction control or abs as well . Learn how to ride and forget those rider aids. Cruise control ? Lol lol . Are today men that weak . And why would you even want that on your T7 ? What your thinking of making it a interstate traveler ? You might want another bike then .

A good bike, looks good, but highly over rated, for what it is, and the price. Seems some people just want to adore it, blind to other, better possibilities. Bikes that come to mind are the KTM 790 adventure, Kove 800 super adventure, Honda Transalp 750, Aprilia TUAREG 660 and even CFmoto 450mt, albeit it being a smaller capacity.
