Been following you for 7 years, finally started to properly follow your advice and devote around half an hour every day to play, started to carry a marine band everywhere.Can play pretty much whatever I want now and include blues harp in my own music. Even getting a bullet mic to plug in my big Marshall and try doing some speed metal harmonica ! Thanks for your work, harmonica was my first love as far as instruments go, your work really helped me finally cross that bridge and play. I'll be forever grateful.

@@gussowsclassicbluesharmoni2726 I want to add another thing : I'm autistic, and it's often really hard to properly understand and connect with a teaching because of the way my brain is wired. But you have a crystal clear way of teaching that makes it really easy to follow even for someone like me. The fact that you properly take time to explain what you're doing and why you're doing it is, and connecting it to the history of the style and the music is the most helpful thing.

I have had the worst year of my life 2021 and for some peculiar reason today i listened to a Creedance Clearwater Revival song and it just hit me i used to play the piano and dabbled in saxophones, flutes when i was younger, i so miss music and playing sth with my breath and when i heard that song i remembered also my grandmother who brought me up and she played a harmonica the last years of her life and now i have a burning desire for a harmonica. This last year we were plagued not having any money for months on end as my husbands pension failed to pay out after 3 yrs so i am worried about spending too much (we got a flush of money at the moment and i'll be selling things soon) but on a search i landed on two models the Tombo Tremolo harmonica and the Hohner Rocket 10 that a shop nearby sells (i live in Ireland) . I don't want to dissappoint myself by not buying an instrument good enough but i also don't want to go overboard if you see what i mean. Could you please let me know if the difference is worth paying the hohner here is 45 euros the Tombo is 85 euros. I would appreciate your opinion. Also how does one decide on the key? Please help it would mean a lot to me. My husband of 34 yrs is in hospital with cancer and my soul is screaming it wants to play him a song, we had been talking about buying an instrument all year and how nice it would be to play sth ... i don't have much time left to practise

Been doing my twenty minutes a day - most days now for a couple of months. Keeping a harmonica in the car is a great idea. Can get single notes but I have to work on them regularly to keep it clear and consistent. I practice scales and some simple tunes regularly and recently started bending - I needed a double on hole 3 for a tune....and it's really coming on. All thanks to to you Adam.....and probably this, or a similar one of your " new harmonica" KZbin videos. Such infectious enthusiasm! After so many years of thinking about it, I am so grateful to you Adam. Many thanks again and keep up the good work.

Since I started to watch your videos two years ago I always carry a Marine Band with me and use every free moment to play some notes. Little by little i realized that is not about gettin better at playing but its something similar at make company to myself. Got myself a marineband blues harp 6 months ago, lots of fun easy to pick up anytime anywhere.. after learning some easy stuff ( Lowrider... love me do, some easy blues licks ) having so much fun purchased a Lee Oscar in the key of A .... blues in E on my guitar with an A harp is superb..P.S their was a time i thought Bob Dylan played great Harmonica

I've been following you for about a year or so. I finally started following what you said about how to hold the harp in your mouth. I'm a lip purser and have been getting good tone. But I guess I was only had the harp half-way into my mouth. I was struggling to pull the 3-hole bend all the way to the 3rd half-tone down. I wrapped my lips around the harp more and just like that, I was able to hit all notes on holes 1, 2, 3, and 4. Who knew. Thanks, Don.

I got a Ben Franklin 99 cents and my neighbor man going by his house hear me riding my bike. One day he stop me and said what are u playing I told him and he said I want to give u something and it was a marine band key of G I showed it to my granny and she played turkey in a straw lol so that was my first song and when the roll is call up yonder I’ll be there. I price it at drug store back them and it sold for $3.75 lol and at 63 yrs old now the last one I bought was $40.00 there the best one

the issue i have is , for instance, you made that cool lil roll when you were explaining crossharp and the key of G when you went down to the 2blow and then the lil whirl you did [bweebwedadobwee] and i can SEE you 2-1-3-4'ing but i dunno which order you're doing them in or how. i only have a working G harmonica so i can't translate it over ('knowing the riff' i can't tab it out by ear) great talk though and i'm seriously considering your lessons as you're the first teacher i connected with and you're a feeler of the jam like i like it.

I appreciate all your videos. Been playing more latley. I used to honk it up bit time back in the day. My friend has been saying he wants a harp but never got one. I got my old bag out and gave him a high quality one. I knew he would get into it if he had it. I told him initially he want to spend $50. I think that held him up. Not any more. If I get a harmonica with a wood comb will the wood ever rot or is there anything I should know about?

The wood won't rot, but the comb may swell a little when your spit gets in there. This isn't always a problem, but it CAN be a problem. Rarely for me, though.
