Hong Kong has a lot of pent up energy (and fireworks stockpile? lmao) from having some of the world's longest-lasting pandemic restrictions. This was by far the biggest ever western new year fireworks show they have held since starting this tradition less than 20 years ago. Traditionally, Hong Kong only held huge fireworks shows for the Lunar New Year, which is a longer 20-minute format.
