Rebecca .... that was exactly my first thought ! Also this, they could place LARGE signs at every entry and make certain that there is someone there to bring them to the attention of everyone who enters. Quite simply, people just need to have respect and not treat everything like it's a social media moment.

Hi Rajiv, Thank you for your latest, it has indeed made me think. I consider myself an educated person of 74 years of age with all the experience that goes along with the years I have enjoyed, but sometimes, I get flashes of my arrogance and/or ignorance that I display without thinking of how hurtful my thoughts and opinions can truly be. I am often so absolutely convinced of my righteousness and superiority and then I have a lightening revelation! It is humbling and I thank others for being my teachers and guides in my life. You are definitely one such person. Audrey

Hi, I too am 74 and Was raised by a mother who, though a narcissist, raised me to believe I was superior to almost everyone else, and that IQ is everything. I was also a successful artist at a young age.. My husband, a tech pioneer, was even more intelkectually arrogant. So even after all these years at almost 75, I don't always accept others as they are, Especially not now in these interesting times.

" God is in the details" resonates with me. After years of shelters and moving around while maintaining a full-time job, I found my sanctuary , my church, my temple. The place that connects me and brings me peace brings me a stronger sense of spirituality. Is my home. My home's details are based on and curated with the understanding of gratitude and provides peace and safety when I sleep. The area that I create has an enormous window, like that of a church or temple. Which allows me to look to the sky in gratitude. I am home. ❤

I managed a huge condo complex, as an enforcer of the rules, I have had complaints about my posted signs and cones throughout the complex. However, signs are placed because of hard headed or unaware people that make it inconvenient for other folks or disturbs the peace of other folks. Signs will never completely stop the activity from happening but will keep the activity from increasing.

This point you make about the signs in the Temple remind me of how I feel after several long trips to Japan and then coming home to Australia - in some cultures there is so much understanding of respect and self discipline and in others there is little and that then requires laws, and yes signs. Unfortunately without the signs all those disrespectful and disruptive things would happen. I wonder if you could offer to create one large hand drawn sign which gives these directions but is also beautiful ?

I’m very familiar with prayers , offerings, singing in Hindu Temple. I’m Christian but I love to go to Bartlett , Il. There’s a gorgeous Mandir carved in India and assembled here. I love Diwali celebration . I bought some books and I was trying to understand Hindu religion. All those deitis are to complicated, every temple worships different one. The food in cafeteria is awesome. My family loves it. We buy less spicy. The store has huge selection of food , we can buy to go or heat in micro and eat there. We always ask shoppers what to get and how spicy it is. My favorite are veggies pancakes, which are a part of offerings. Lovely ceremonies include also us , not Hindu people. We go there 4-5 times a year and proudly show the Mandir to any of our visitors. The gardens are also beautiful. All visitors a very respectful, no pictures allowed in a new temple but in old one carved in wood you can take as many as you want. It’s a visitor center.

I would have to agree with Gopaul, I am not a detailed person either, but by watching how much joy you have in the little details in your home has certainly given me pause. I go through the motions of cleaning or declutterring, but take no pleasure in it. Now I see things differently, the candles that are only meant to be decorative, are now being used. My trinkets that I have been given over the years by people who meant something to me, I now appreciate and am grateful for these thoughtful gifts, where I used to get annoyed because they are dust collectors. So yes, you do make a difference in peoples lives, you see beauty where others (like myself) have either overlooked, taken for granted these small gestures or old world traditions that we no longer take the time to appreciate anymore. In the chaos that is life in the last 10 years, especially after covid, it feels good to remove yourself from the rat race to just breathe and enjoy life’s little nudge to pay attention and be mindful in EVERYTHING we do. Thank you friend… I appreciate you ❤️🌻🦋

I think small details in rituals are incredibly important. Especially religious rituals, the details elevate the ritual from a mundane practice into something holy or powerful. It's the detail of not recording and maintaining silence that spurred on the need for those signs, and im sure there is a way for those signs to be elevated to a respectful place in the home of the ritual. Ive definitely noticed myself paying more attention to my surroundings, being present in my home, since watching your videos. Thank you for the perspective on this!

I think you mentioned before that you went there also. God IS in the details.in all the little things that we see and handle everyday. A meditation teacher told me to Let it come, Let it go. Your video is so timely. I just got back from my trip to Oaxaca, Mexico for the holiday break and noticed how the indigenous people of Oaxaca have kept the culture and the artistic skills from the Zapotech era ( who existed in 700 BC) still practiced and promoted by the Mexican people and the government. I was quite impressed not just by the Oaxaca food but also by the intricacy of the various artistic line of work that the Oaxaca indigenous people still produce. If you haven’t been to Oaxaca do visit and you will have plenty of new skills to explore that will be of interest to you. But regarding the jasmine garland produced by using the banana naar, I have done that. It was a common activity I would enjoy doing during my summer break from school as a kid where I would visit my grandmother’s place and would pluck all the jasmine buds in the evening as the sun is setting and would sit on the floor to make the garland. The next morning the garland would bloom with so much fragrance. Your narration brought back some good childhood memories for me. I agree with you on the signs at the temples and keeping these rituals so secretive. The more we expose and know it gets better to pass the knowledge to the next generation. If not it just fades away!!!

Love your videos and appreciation of the details. I feel you with the jarring signs. I have noticed a very pronounced trend in our society today of individuals doing what they want/find convenient with utter disregard for others around them. I see it in everything form driving, to staying in designated areas to cleaning up after your dog. I'm afraid that the signs were driven by having to constantly watch and correct people throughout the ceremony, hopefully videos like yours will make people more aware of the repercussions of their actions.

All it needs is a prominent sign by the entrance that everyone can see as they come is. for example an A-frame sign that reads "Welcome and please read these House Rules", followed by 2-4 bullet points for the rules. Or, if it's too much to put on one sign and for folks to remember, a little holder on that A-frame for A5 flyers that list the house rules for people to take.

p.s. i would find the signs on the walls really distracting and a shame. in fact, watching the video you inserted had me thinking exactly that before you said it. on a different note - i have never seen this ceremony be performed and as soon as I saw Ganesha getting rinsed with that milk It really touched me somehow. my eyes started welling up. there is such power in ancient rituals and it is a priviledge to witness.
