I'm in NYC we have no evidence of shortages of any kind, the shelves are fully stocked. But I live in Queens a much more trucker friendly environment. Why you folks have such malice towards the civilians of our City, who had nothing whatsoever to do with those Court findings. I love it. As the warehouse stocks become depleted the shelves will be empty. It will take a while. Plus, it doesn't have to be 100% of the truckers, even a small number of truckers refusing loads will drive up prices.He is correct, some truckers will still deliver but for more money. Question - have some more nationwide boycotts not worked in the past because they'd require truckers to not work at all, as a whole? Because I know the Colorado trucker boycott after the unfair 110 year sentence for the driver who's brakes failed worked. Colorado lessened his sentence to ten years and begged the truckers to return. They're boycotting one place, but this doesn't require them to stop working altogether. I'm hoping they just snub NYC and keep working around it.

Will it work? It will for every person who refuses to deliver to NYC. That is the most important thing too. I worked in specialized metal fabrication my whole career. After spending some time doing jobs for a military supplier, I refused to work there any more. I know it didn't make any difference to the war department, but it meant everything to me. People shouldn't have to cater to evil. I feel sorry for everyone who has no choice.

In 24 years the companies have never had broad support from the trucking company offices, and the shippers as well. This time, companies are standing with the decision of drivers not to go in. I drove 42 years, I refused NYC loads, and even changed companies so as to not go there. will 100% of the drivers support it, no, but if 50% do, the damage will be catastrophic to the retail and commercial environment of the city.

the truckers boycotted Colorado a few years ago when they over charged a truck driver for an accident and penalty can down from 100 years in jail to 10 years so they do work and if truckers would come together they could actually shut down America. Unity is all they would need.

First off, most of the truckers that are boycotting New York or not company drivers. They're independent drivers. Second, not all truckers have to boycott New York. In order for the boycott to work, only about 10% of truckers that take stuff in New York have to boycott it to raise prices significantly. You ever heard the term supply and demand if you have more demand then you have supply prices are going to skyrocket. Even if nobody boycotts New York City. Even the perception of trucks not arriving is going to raise prices in New York City. Third drivers are charging 30% more to go to new york. That's going to raise prices. People vote with there wallet. It's already started working prices went up Monday to Tuesday. It is now Thursday and prices are going up even more. And there are multiple videos showinlow stock items on the shelves almost empty, but not everywhere though.

I have respected truck drivers for 54 years, when I drove cross country and learned to respect the skill of truck drivers. I was told it was courteous to flash my lights when passing 40 footers were far enough away to safely move back into the right lane. Hope that was the right thing to do.

Think about just one product how many trucks touched it. Let’s say chicken which I haul lot of. Baby chicks to farm for eggs for meat birds Feed to farms to chickens for eggs to be laid. Truck to hatchery. Truck to farm for broilers etc Trucks bring feed for meat birds. Several loads per week. They 6-8 weeks at farm. Then truck to process plant. Then I could pick up take to another process plant or to a Walmart / grocery store dc Then they truck it to the stores for you to buy that chicken breast etc. count all those trucks it took to bring chicken to the shelves.

What about the Colorado strike when the truck driver lost his brakes? Do you consider that one a failure?

I'd love to see this boycott work but after checking a webcam for the "George Washington Bridge" I see vast amounts of trucks crossing the bridge at all hours. It looks like the "boycott" is having a minimal effect.

You still have to cross the bridge to get to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc. You have no clue as to where those trucks are headed.

@@gilbertpardo8211 Well, I hope that is true. BTW there is also the Tappan Zee Bridge which looks like you would miss more of the city if you were going up to Mass, CT or Rhode Island.
