Choo Choo. I'm 33 years old, wife and I had our first child last August. At the time I weighed close to 310 pounds. I had played college sports and stayed fit in my 20s but life had caught up to me, and I was in a bit of a tail spin that was compounded with new parent insecurities. Amidst the humor and levity, this channel has been refreshingly transparent about the realities of life. Relationships to people, alcohol, work, family. Finding purpose and showing up for yourself, all resonated so deeply with me (and clearly many others). I'm down over sixty pounds this year, consistently running 10 miles per week or more, and am scheduled to do a half marathon in the Spring. Congrats on the growing family, choo choo.

Great job Cody! I’ve been trying to get more into fitness since you started Cody trains but always find it hard because i have a 15 month old daughter I stay home with while working from home. I started swimming over the summer and doing more weight lifting but after the NYC marathon , I felt like everyone I knew was at it (I live 2 hours away) I really wanted to be part of the action next time. So I ran 3 days last week totaling 7 miles for the week which is a big deal for me because I haven’t run in years. Thanks for being an inspiration! It’s hard to have time to do things for yourself once you have kids and I fall victim to not prioritizing myself but always seeing how motivated you are helps me be more motivated. Thanks for all you do for the Cody trains community!

Seeing Cody not freak out about what he's eating the day before the Marathon is so wild to me lol. When watching I related to all of Kelsey's reactions about what he ate/drank. I was following a strict bland ass diet the day before my marathon. Oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, then a turkey sandwich for lunch and 3 baked potatoes with no toppings or butter for dinner. But I guess the lack of anxiety comes with experience.

Granted, I started my journey before this channel, but your videos have helped me make progress. I'm 20 and I've gotta be able to keep up with an old man like yourself. I can now run an 8.15 min mile and I run at least 5 miles a week. While it's not much, I'm proud of how far I've come and grateful to go even further. We ascend together🔥

I made the ultimate decision to spend my senior year of college at home for my student teaching, and to keep myself busy, I knew that I needed a more active hobby (with the inspiration of these videos), so I started running. I do have one friend who is home with me, so we have been running together and decided to train for a 10k. Since it was our first race and beginning of our running journey, our goal was a 12-12:30 pace just so we were sure we would be able to complete the race without walking. Our time ended up being 1:07 with an average pace of 10:54/mile. Now, we are training for a 15k coming up in January, and our average mile (when distance running) has gone from 12 minutes to a little under 11 minutes. These videos are the reason I am still challenging myself, so thank you and keep inspiring(: 🚂

I volunteered at the med tent past the finish at the NYC marathon last year, and they make you keep walking by design so that people don't bunch up at the finish, like you said, but also because the #1 reason people pass out after a marathon is they stop moving and the blood pools in their feet I happened to see you run by when I was on the sidelines in Brooklyn and yelled at you, I'm glad you had fun!
