I like Soto as a full-time DH and occasional OFer. Perhaps he's a better fit for the Mets actually--or LAD. Especially if Dominguez succeeds as a NYY OFer. NYY are stuck with Stanton. And we know play-off Stanton is not the same thing as full-season Stanton. And as a long-time NYY and MLB fan, I can't for the life of me show great joy over 10 year plus contracts. They never pan out.

At 26 nobody will be full time DHing Soto. He's not a great outfielder but his bat is so good you overlook the fielding. I do think his lack of athleticism will be a problem on a big contract similar to Pujols

Money aside, if I'm Soto, I would want to go somewhere just so I can build a legacy somewhere that isn't currently a legacy superpower. Going to be a forever player with the Metropolitans would give Soto that chance. The Yanks already have Judge. Juan can go to Queens (or Frisco or Toronto or Boston) and lead to the franchise's resurgence.
