Marte would be a great DH. Give him a few starts in the outfield to keep him athletic. His legs would be stronger being a DH not taking the wear and tear. He gives you bat to ball skills speed and prettying clutch. Marte batting 7 8 9 would you give us an advantage over most teams lineups at the bottom of the lineup we want that 1 thru 9 depth to suffocate the opposing pitcher.

I am not sure I'd want Marte to be the everyday DH, but teaming him in a platoon with a lefty hitter that mashes right-handed pitching? That could be great. Resigning Jess Winker is one option that shouldn't cost a ton of money, but there is a better left-handed platoon player who is a current free agent. Joc Pederson had a .923 OPS against right-handers last season and a .844 OPS for his career. MLB Trade Rumors predicts he will sign a 2-year $24 Million deal. In a world where Frankie Montas gets a 2-year $34 Million contract, the Pederson prediction seems quite reasonable.

Great is strong, especially given his age. He’s also not a big power bat….i want more than 17 bombs out of my DH. Goal should be an entire lineup of dangerous hitters….i like marte but given injuries and age I regard him as an extra player to be deployed as necessary
