This video was a ton of quick fun! And as somebody who knows a good deal about Lackawanna and EL history you did a great job!

Was the boonton line double tracked as at the station cross over it seems like it has space for another one. But concrete ties are a nice touch
@honajtransit7 ай бұрын
yeah, as i said in the history section, it was even quadruple-tracked at some points

Overall great video Honaj Transit, but just a little update on your photo choices during the history portion at 1:39 yes that was the Transit Boonton Line in Later years but that is close to my home so I know the area that was never the Lackawanna Boonton Line though that was the Erie Greenwood Lake Branch at the former West Arlington Station looking east at the Erie Kearny Cut, also the Morris Canal never ran through the cut. Rather the Morris Canal took Raymond Blvd in Newark which now is part of the Newark Light Rail that's how the Morris Canal ran it never ran through Kearny. Again at 2:12 we are looking at the Erie Greenwood Lake the WR Draw over the Passaic River between Kearny "west Arlington" and North Newark. The Erie RR and the Lackawanna did merge at one point but as you said in your video the DL&W "Lackawanna" Boonton Branch is now occupied by Interstate Route 80 Through Totowa and West/Paterson area until the Garret Mountain. The Boonton Branch today still exists in some form as the Totowa Industrial, which the C&D serves a customer until where Rt 80 completely takes over. Basically, just West of the Mountain View Station in Wayne the now Totowa Industrial starts as a switch back first going up the former Erie Greenwood Lake then the second switch onto the former Boonton Branch "Totowa Industrial". Then the other part of the original DL&W Boonton Branch is in use today as the NJT Main Line East of Paterson to Hoboken, the stations Kingsland, Lyndhurst, Delawanna, Passaic, & Clifton. West of the Rt 46 along the Main Line which sort of parallels Rt 19; before 19 is where the Boonton Branch would run in a North/South direction then curve around Garret Mountain to where today Rt 80 is making the line go back in an East/West direction. Like I said, it's a good video I just wanted to clarify the former Erie Greenwood Lake Branch in your images of the history in your video. I look forward to seeing more of your content in the future.

thanks for all the info! About the picture, I was trying to find more pictures of the Boonton branch, but I couldn’t find many others online, so I used that one, as it is still somewhat related!

I would give the Mountain station a 10 with that bar there! That's really a neat area! You should go back to that historical train place and do a tour there! That looks really cool!

Off topic question, but can you please provide a link to the introductory melody? Thanks .

i took that right off of KZbin's audio library, but the piece itself is Beethoven's Sontantina No. 2 in F Major, Rondo.

I wonder how "quaintness" is measured, like how is this the quaintest station? I am imagining like some type of Dragon Ball Z scenario where someone says "What is the measurement on the Quaintness Meter???" "It is over 9000!!!!!"

haha, tbh i was having trouble thinking of a title and this seemed to fit well

Mountain Lakes IS the quaintest least used station, but it's not THE least used station - that would be Mount Olive, with just one rider less than Mountain Lakes in its ridership numbers.
@honajtransit7 ай бұрын
yeah, for my least used series i'm only using official stats, so the NJT 2012 stats are what i'm going off of for NJT -- i do know that there was that 2017 patch article that said mount olive was less, but since the NJT 2012 stats were published by NJT themselves, that's what i'm using

Great video, but you really need to sort out your audio.
