I was under the impression that we had to BD the entire head during the practical. We won’t lose points if we don’t blow dry the sections being used for rollers and perm?

The top & one side are blow dried. This prepares them for the barrel & spiral marcel techniques. A perm wrap and rollers are done on wet hair, after the marcel portion of the exam.

Do we have to blow dry the hair on top towards the back of the head?

Each educator interprets that differently. Some say that since the barrel curls (done after the BD) after away from the face that the hair should be blown dry straight back. Others will say to blow dry the hair downward toward the side.

Yes you can! Make sure it is turned off.
