Thank you so much for this. I'm in the maybe unusual situation where I manage a channel's back end for someone who just started streaming, and I misunderstood KZbin's help page about where this setting was located, and was afraid to click "Go Live," thinking it might immediately start streaming something-which in retrospect is kind of silly, but it is a button saying "Go Live"! ^^; Went on a whole goose chase before I found this vid. Thanks again.

​@@DougHewsonYT If you don't mind a follow-up question, I noticed my livestream ARCHIVES have monetization set off by default, even though both my upload defaults and my livestream defaults have monetization on. Do you know if there's a separate setting I need to manage to keep monetization on for livestream archives? I had thought this was dictated by my upload defaults for videos, but apparently not… Thanks in advance!

That is interesting - that's the first time someone has mentioned that to me. It could be that the setting is not fully rolled out for some reason. I still have not seen any official word from KZbin about this particular option being available. Will have to survey some of my creator friends to see if other have it or not.

KZbin started doing "limited ads" for EVERY stream I do. So I'm leaving for Twitch. KZbin is dead

Plenty of people still on Twitch. Limited ads means the type of content or your metadata are suggesting that is only partially monetizable. Could be the types of games. That doesn't mean you will not get any ads and it doesn't men you cannot get Supers or Memberships (which are fare more lucrative IMHO)

@@DougHewsonYT problem is views absolutely tank the moment limited ads occur. You can literally sync it up in analytics if you catch when it happened. KZbin stops much promoting of the stream/video

@@RGBeanie typically rather than that being the result of limited ads, it’s because the same issue that triggered limited ads also triggers the lack of reach. Subtle difference, but it points to something you can fix to get better results in both cases.

@DougHewsonYT Yeah, by leaving to a platform that hopefully doesn't deliberately try to tank my content lol. It doesn't matter what the content is or how many are watching. They're deliberately targeting my channel. Even the moment something is wildly successful, it is hit with limited ads. The platform is a joke for those not already doing well. I know it's deliberate, due to being able to have every single live stream queued up and monetized for HOURS. Then it is hit within 10mins of going Live. All my videos remain unaffected, unless they perform well, then they take notice and shoot those down as well. Every single time I request a review, its granted. I have an "excellent rating" for my content reporting for ads. Nothing like this happened in the last few years on the platform, something changed.

Great question! When you schedule on StreamYard, it does not cover all the KZbin settings that are available for live streams, so my workflow when I've used StreamYard is to schedule it, then jump over to the KZbin live dashboard and check these extra settings. I have found that once I have the defaults in place for monetization, it will tend to have those pre-populated for me, so if you don't need to tweak other things like applying a video trailer, redirects, tags, etc. then it should default to your monetization settings.

I can tell you that after making this video, the setting disappeared, then re-appeared on the weekend so I might be a little early to the game. Possibly a slow roll out plus I've seen zero announcements so far.

I already had a SpreadShop account, so I linked that to KZbin via the Earn tab in Studio. You can currently link a store from Spring, SpreadShop, Shopify or Fourth Wall.

@@DougHewsonYT i notice the youtube advertising popped on traffic source so I thought okie maybe i clicked off embedding, that might prevent the youtube advertising thingy, i checked back on traffic source, it’s not there now. I do not have that ad link on the advanced settings though. Not monetised yet. Should i turn it back on? I’m concerned abt the invalid traffic issue though😅😅
