New Youtube Partial Firearm Video Ban: Aimed at videos that might help bad people?

KZbin just announced on March 20, 2018 a new prohibition against certain types of firearm-related videos. Reading between the lines, it looks like they are trying to keep the info out of the hands of bad people who might want to hurt other people. My only questions is, did they come up with this on their own or were they urged/pressured by the government or certain political groups?

Some of both... The adpocalpyse inspired it since Adsense (owned by Google) was advertising on legit terrorist videos, which freaked out a huge number of their advertisers, and then Google went ahead and ran down the rabbit hole of banning virtually everything they find offensive, which is virtually everything not staunchly left-wing. That's been my impression as things have unfolded over the past couple of years though. Virtually every firearms channel has been demonetized en mass.
