Lsu death valley would be my closest experience to pau beaver stadium (It's my goal to see most cfb stadiums)...no other stadiums compare to those 2 can be matched, especially a night lsu game and whiteout game. The racing stadiums do hold a lot but they are so spread out, it never matches a great cfb fans/crowd game.

Hi. I'm a 2000 alumni and former Penn state athletic staff. Wotked as a security officer inside stadium. Fellow fans, you saw me manning the visiting team gate at gate c for the last 5 years as a Whelan event staff. I loved every single second of working inside. Granted it was exhausting. And my position at gate c would physically and mentally drain most people. I reveled in it. I was charged with handling security for all visiting teams. In addition, I worked with all our event staff. Nothing will ever duplicate this experience. If u rode the handicap carts through tunnel at sections wc lower level. I was the big guy w booming voice yelling " clear out !!!! Cart coming through!!!" I also locked down the gates. Amazing experience!!! I miss my time at the university. No happier place than beaver stadium!!°° we are !!!.. anybody here have seson tickets in WE NE NC sections??? U saw me on the visiting team gate

Thanks for reviewing this game. As a season ticket holder, I was at that game and if you get a chance in the future, please take the opportunity to visit Penn State for a White-Out game. Watching the game on a computer may give you an impression of what goes on during these events, but it is not possible to fully understand the magnitude of the noise and emotion that is going on. It is like being physically part of a living organism. The stadium actually pulsates and it is impossible to carry on a conversation. It is the epitome of college football. You really have to try it.

There were 110,669 people at that game. The stadium's official capacity is "only" 106,572 but the student section (about 1/4 of the stadium) doesn't have assigned seating so the extra are just more students stuffed in there. Still, more than twice the size if Eden Park. If you do go to the US to see a college football game, the White Out may be an overload. Before the game the parking lot has over 200,000 people who are eating, drinking, and generally having a party for hours. Don't worry about having your own food or drink because most people will just invite you to partake of theirs.

The biggest Whiteout had over 111,000 fans. Kirk Herbstreit, a football commentator, said The Penn State Whiteout is the greatest atmosphere in all of college football. Beaver Stadium is the second largest stadium in The United States and the fourth largest in the world. It's also a good example of how big College Football is. Penn State is one of the larger more prominent teams. This level of crowd noise is normal for schools of that size & prominence in important games. It also looks like the first play from scrimmage by Michigan resulted in a false start. A 5 yard penalty against the offense for premature movement. Crowds also usually are louder when the visiting team's offense is on the field & quieter when the home team's offense is on the field. It makes pre-snap communication harder for the visitors.

When the Quebec Nordiques were in the NHL before moving to Denver and becoming the Colorado Avalanche, Le Colisee would have whiteout nights where all the fans would be in white. This would be done especially when they played the Montreal Canadiens, their archrivals from the same province.

@courtney Coulston - Penn States' Beaver Stadium has an official seating capacity of 106,572, making it currently the second largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere and the Fourth largest in the world. By the look of this video , I think a few extra got in .

White outs at Penn State University are known to be the most loudest and wildest football game ever! Like you said in the video, it’s all about the experience and it gets crazy lol. The band that was on the field, they couldn’t really hear themselves play because the crowd was INTENSE! Definitely worth a try and visit! WE ARE! PENN STATE!

I’m a little late to this video but I went to Penn State and still live right near it. If you travel here you NEED to go to a PSU whiteout. It’s the absolute best experience in college sports. We just had almost 110k yesterday at the whiteout!

The student section (on the end with the S) is about 20k students. We stand on the benches the whole game. The only time there is silence is when our offense is on the field.

One thing most everyone else in the world does not fully comprehend is that this is COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY SPORTS this is not a PRO TEAM this is not the NFL. There are SO MANY universities and Colleges across the USA BIG & SMALL with sports teams ( FOOTBALL BASKETBALL BASEBALL SOCCER SWIMMING GYMNASTICS WRESTLING LECROSS FIELD HOCKEY and so much more ) Out of all the Universities in the USA there are MANY big ones like this that have 10-20-50-60 THOUSAND Students that attend university at their respective schools and stadiums like this can hold 80-100 THOUSAND people and there are many of these across the USA. With Everything AMERICA HAS Keep this in Mind -- AMERICA HOLDS **LESS** than 1/23 of the worlds population.

Fun atmosphere. Big crowd but below average compared to every Saturday in Ann Arbor in the Big House. White out is an excellent newer tradition.

As an Ohio State fan I have a dislike for state Penn. That said, likely the best home field advantage in sport. The stories I have heard from ohio state players and coaches about how loud it gets there. The loudest recorded db there is 122db. For a reference, sound that causes physical pain starts at 125db. I find it hard to believe they haven't surpassed 125... I've heard stories about guys thinking a fan was behind them which was blowing against them moving their clothing. Only to find out there was no fan, it was just the noise of the crowd doing it. Stories about guys helmets vibrating while wearing them. Big props to their fans for creating that atmosphere, white outs are impressive 👍

I have only personally experienced Wisconsin games. They have a tradition of Jump Around. The entire stadium jumps and you can feel the stadium rattle. Overall, college games are more hype.

Penn state has the best college atmosphere you can experience. In the stands are 100,000 fans screaming. You can feel vibration through your body and you will get goose numbs all over your body. The white out game is only once a year against the big and best Opponent that come to penn state. If you watch a college football game this one the white out will change your life forever. Lol highly recommend going.

Here is a webpage that lists the top 20 largest college football stadiums. I am a Nebraska Huskers fan and we are listed as No. 12. We are working on getting back to the team we were in the 90s and b4. and I think we have the right coach for that now. But Nebraska owns the Record for most home game sellouts at 375 right now. This record goes all the way back to 3 Nov. 1962 with a home game against Missouri. Nebraska is one of the more storied college football programs in America.

I remember when Nebraska was great every year. It’s seems like Wisconsin has replaced them as the team with the big beefy lineman and running backs. Offenses are so explosive and fast paced now I think Nebraska will have a hard time becoming a powerhouse again. Too bad because they have a nice fan base. ps Go Blue!

If you come to the US definitely do it in the fall and go to as many college football games as you can. Go to the tail gate parties before the games most people are happy to share their food and drinks with you especially if they know you are from out of the country because they are very proud of their team. Then go into the game and enjoy the excitement that permeates the stadium.

110,000 fans. Penn State is the greatest show in Football. There is nothing like a "white out" I was there for the first. I was a season ticket holder and tailgated for 30 years. College Football in the U.S. is even bigger than the NFL. Penn State has the third largest stadium in the world, and it is the loudest in the world. Not football Stadiums, ALL stadiums. There are only two larger. The Big house in Anne Arbor Michigan, and North Koreas soccer stadium, but neither are louder. Another interesting little fact for you, "We are - Penn State" is actually "We are ALL Penn State" and stems from the fact that Wally Triplett a black player was told that he'd have to stay home if the team went to play Miami, in the south, I believe it was 1948. The team had a meeting, to decide if they'd play or if they'd cancel the game. Someone in the meeting said "We are all Penn State" meaning if Wally couldn't play, no one would play. It was misquoted to the press, and became "We are .... Penn State" the rally cry you hear from the crowd, half shouting we are, the other half responding Penn State until the side shouting We Are changes it to Thank you, which is answered with "You're welcome". Penn State was also the first team to have a black player in the cotton bowl in 1948. Wally Triplett would go on to become the first Black player drafted in the NFL to start a game (although he was the 3rd black player drafted). He still ranks second for single game kickoff return yardage. He put his career on hold in 1950 when he was the first NFL player drafted for the Korean war. The man who is the cause of "We Are.... Penn State" the most recognizable college football call and response.
