Nobody remembers it, but I was the ballboy that caught the bat in the arena against the Houston Rockets...I've been looking for that game tape for years. I have no doubt that we probably sat next to each other on floor/on a goal!

@@Priapismpain I was usually up in the camera stand, but sometimes I was running hand-held down in the floor area. Did a lot of Spurs games from 1987-1996. Those first couple of years were pretty hard to get thru, but the others were pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately, I was no longer working there when Duncan came along, so I had to enjoy the championships simply as a fan.

@@Tennisman81 I don't think they based that movie on one specific player. The NBA has had several players who came from Africa, the most famous one being Hakeem Olajuwon. But yeah, I suppose Manute Bol more closely resembles the plot of the movie than most. As far as anyone knows, Bol is the only NBA player who actually killed a lion with a spear

As a newspaper photographer, I photographed Muggsy at both Wake and the Hornets. I'm 6'3", towering over him, but stood in awe of the guy!

I've been a Hornets fan since the beginning and attended many of Mugsy's games. Those were great days for the Hornets. I've also met Mugsy in person. He played co-rec softball in the basketball off season and I would see him there occasionally.

There was a grunge band that came out of Seattle that tried to name themselves The “Muggsy Bouges” UN his honor but his trademarks people shot that down so the band changed its name to “Pearl Jam”

Lived in Charlotte back in the mid 90's and Mugs was not only a star he was a real cool dude.. we'd see him at several places like Jack Straws (a live music bar) or even the grocery store. Once at Jack Straw's it was me, my girlfriend (back then) Mugsy and CARROT TOP cozied up at the bar talking crap. He would talk to you like he was an old friend... Love me some Mugsy. O

Space Jam was a classic and hilarious basketball movie starring Michael Jordan, Bill Murray and the Warner Brothers cartoon characters. A MUST see for every basketball fan. Muggsy was one of the most fun players to watch ever in the NBA. I was working for the TV station that did San Antonio Spurs games during Muggsy's career, so I got to see him play live in person a lot of times.

Space Jam is one of the best sports movies ever made, I loved it as a kid! It's on Netflix if you want to check it out. Basically, it's about Michael Jordan playing a basketball game with the Looney Tunes against aliens who stole talent from some of the big NBA stars of the time. It's ridiculous, and that's why it was great!

Ah, a time when the NBA was the love of the game first then the paycheck and now... terrible especially since their 3 point % is greater than their FG %. Gotta watch Space Jam though with Bill Murray,Wayne Knight ,Jordan, Bouges, Ewing, Bradley, Barkley,Bird, and Bugs Bunny and the rest of the iconic Looney Tunes. Plus an awesome soundtrack to boot😁👍

You need to watch the movie spacejam. It was one of the best movies when I was a kid. I suggest you watch it and you wont be disappointed . You also need to check out Nate Robinson his highlights and dunk contest. Please do a video on Jordan Kilganon. He is this small white dude who is a professional dunker and is amazing. He even had the NBA all star weekend fans and players draw dropped the whole time.
