PS..ignore the trolls. Brady is considered the greatest QB to ever play the game by virtually every single player, ex-player, Hall-of-Famer, coach, and analyst. The only people who hate on him are fans of teams that constantly lose to him for 20 straight years. Winningest QB in NFL history, most championships, almost every record in the books. well as far as this vid goes at least, the "trolls" were the coaches players and analysts at the COMBINE who were slamming him when he was just out of college. Even Courtney understood that much watching the clip. Brady had the slowest 40 of all the QBs there, had a decent and accurate arm but there were better arms there, and most coaches worried about his physic, whether he would be able to take the pounding for a whole season. That's why he went in the 6th round and 199 overall. And lets face it, by the time teams are down to the 6th pick they aren't expecting the pick to actually help the team. But hey the pick is there might as well use it. You might get lucky. And boy did the Patriots get lucky!

Btw-the reason that quote saying “Drafting me was the best decision this organization has ever made” is so iconic is because of where he was drafted. Bob Kraft said, “yeah, I know who you are: you’re are 6 round draft pick”. A 6th round draft pick is typically an inconsequential player, or a “throw-away” pick, or a player who has had a bad injury and probably won’t recover but maybe might come back as a useful player someday. So that is context of Brady owning up to where he was drafted and saying how determined he was to become great despite of where he was drafted. It’s kind of an audacious thing to say to an owner coming from such a humble beginning.

They confused you severely Courtney, by jumping around from different Super Bowls, and different games. The game they were down 28-3 was Super Bowl 51 against Atlanta. Brady was drafted out of college, as the 199th overall pick, and the Patriots won their 6th Super Bowl in 2019. There’s a good chance that Tom will be playing for a new team come next season, after 20 years with New England.

Brady s no cheater, and yes the Patriots did sort of break a rule that had been changed that year, otherwise before that year of the alleged "spygate" it wasn't against the rules. They did break that rule, and were punished. there is no evidence of cheating outside of that case. the whole deflategate was total bullshit , even the one colt who had actually intercepted brady in a game said the football didn't feel any different to him. not to mention it was freezing cold out, and footballs do tend to lose some air. Bunch of cry babies.

Remember when the NFL said they'd be keeping close tabs on ball inflation the next season and would release the results? Yet 6 years later, and despite being asked about it a number of times, they still haven't released the results. I'm 100% sure I can guess why. There's zero chance there weren't identical scenarios to what happened to the footballs in that Colts/NE game to games that took place that season. They were never going to admit that "yeah, maybe balls do lose air on their own." What the NFL ended up "winning" had nothing to do with the inflation of footballs; it dealt solely with the CBA which states Goodell can hand down any punishment he wants, with or without proof. The very reason Sean Payton served a 1-year suspension for something he knew nothing about.
@fhtre2
@fhtre2 4 жыл бұрын
Actually the real answer is funnier. The rules then stated a game ball had to be between 12.5 to 13.5 psi, which is checked before every game and the psi's of the balls are not written down. The Pats balls were set to 12.5 by the team and the Colts to 13. It has been documented that officials, if a ball was at say, 12.4 wouldn't bat an eye, I mean whats .1 psi right? This is done in a 71!!!!! degree locker room. During that Colts Pats game it was 48 degrees, and anyone who knows anything about science knows that more heat means more psi and cooler temps mean less psi. An MIT professor did the math on this. At halftime with the balls being out in the cold for more than 50 minutes the footballs are bound to lose psi, the math shows that the pats balls should be at 11.32 psi at that temp. When the colts intercepted the ball they said the ball felt weird and checked it, guess what the pressure was? 11.2 which is in the error range of the measurements. So all the pats balls were checked at the beginning of halftime after a long pats drive on a very wet day. The average of all the balls was 11.3. The colts balls were actually .74 psi above the prediction, This is because they were likely checked at the end of halftime where the balls were in the 71 degree locker room again. It is called the ideal gas law and perfectly explains what happened. For fun he also did the coldest game on record, 1967 Green bay vs San Fran, the temp was -13, which would have dropped the balls 4.2 psi. Just an interesting point, but this law perfectly explains what happened to those balls that day. It is physics and most people accusing the Pats of cheating that game are ignoring them.

The funniest part of the whole "Deflategate" fiasco is that after the balls were switched for "properly inflated" balls, the Patriots posterized the Colts even worse. They should have kept their mouths shut and took the loss like men. The Colts were playing like a Jr. Varsity team.

DEFLATEGATE was about tom brady allegedly deflating footballs- he was sued in court and everything but the judge through the case out. During deflategate every newspaper in the USA was claiming that Tom Brady only won all those super bowls because he cheated: That same year the NFL meticulously weighed every single football, and the Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to yet another superbowl win. That "luckiest play" they were referring too was in 2007 vs the NY Giants, who barely defeated the pats in an upset win. Everyone was very disappointed because that was the year that tom brady made the patriots the 8th team in NFL history to ever win every game of their regular season. That year was also the first year the NFL expanded the season to 16 games. if you wanna hear a legendary underdog story kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4vdmpifr7R8rqM check out the the legend of the 1972 miami dolphins who won every game in their preseason, regular season, and the superbowl. no one has done it since, and probably never will.

I'm a U. of M. alumni, and I followed Brady's career at U. of M. Other videos highlight what I think is the real key to understanding Brady's success by spending some screen time talking about Drew Henson's recruitment as the supposed savior of U. of M. football fortunes. Whatever bad things anybody wants to say about Brady's lack of athleticism were magnified by Henson's magnificent phyisical gifts. If geneticists could have manufactured the perfect athlete, it would have been Drew Henson. I first really noticed Tom Brady when he beat out Henson fot the starting QB position at U. of M. The only way, in a million years, that ever could have happened, is if Brady was a shit-ton smarter than Henson. And he was. And his intellect, more than all of these cliched "chip on his shoulder", "strong-willed", "refused to be beaten" tripe explains Brady's success. He is just smarter than everybody else on the field. It is physically impossibe for 7 defenders to cover the entire field while the other four rush the passer. They cannot do it. All they can do is try to decieve the QB as to what parts of the field will be loosely protected. Brady spent hours and hours in the film room, even back at college, looking at the varied defenses an opponent would offer, and learning how to recognize which defense was being offered, before the ball was snapped, and where he should be able to find an open receiver. His arm was not tremendously strong, but he was exceedingly accurate with his throws. He knew he could hit tightly covered receivers by putting the football in exactly the right place. Grace under pressure comes not from some special arrangement of your guts, but from preparation. There is no pressure if you know can get the job done because you've studied the problem, ran it through your head a 100 times during the week, and all you have to do is execute just like you've done 100 times before. Football is such a physical game, a collision sport rather than a contact one, that peoole can forget that it is also a chess game, too. Brady excelled at the chess game. That, and a coach who also excelled at the chess game, allowed Brady to shine brighter than any other QB in NFL history.

Being a great qb doesn’t require you to be a great athlete; in fact, most of the best athletes who have played qb haven’t been horribly successful. To be a great quarterback, you have to be accurate and smart and have leadership. Brady is the greatest of all time because he has taken below average teams in terms of skill position players and dominated the NFL: he’s been to 9 Super Bowls since 2001, and he was a game or two away from going to the super bowl in basically every other season where he didn’t make it. He’s one of the few qbs who has had the ability to call a majority of the plays at the line of scrimmage, and basically read the defense. But his arm was actually underrated throughout most of his career: I promise you he has a superhero type of arm if you saw him throw in person. Also, it’s not so much that people were hating on him early on, it’s just that no player drafted that late in draft-literally 160 players or something were drafted ahead of him-is ever expected to be anything more than a back-up type of player. He was so un-athletic that people overlooked his intangible strengths like his IQ and accuracy. On the flip side, you have players like Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton who are heavily hyped and stars when they get to the league BECAUSE of their freaky athleticism, but are actually inaccurate and possibly lacking some of the mental aspects that separate talented qbs from the ones that end up being great. Patrick Mahomes seems to have both a next level Marvel super hero arm AND the mental attributes to be a legend. But as good as he is, he ain’t going to 9 Super Bowls in 18 years with 11 straight division titles and one play away from an 18 and 0 season like Brady, even though he has unbelievable receivers to help him out. So that gives you an idea of how good Brady has been. In order for Mahomes to match Brady, the Chiefs would basically need to be the best team in the NFL for the next 18 years. With the NFL, no team is able to stay on top longer than 3 or so years because of free agency and the inherent parity. There will never be a 20 year stretch in the NFL like the Patriots have had, or at least not as the sport is currently played. The insane thing about it is, the Patriots purposely embraced the free agency era by never paying stars or making foolish trades to get stars. They went out of their way to immediately get rid of players who became good while with their team so they wouldn’t have to pay them. And they’ve never been able to draft talent because they always draft last because they always win- it’s mind boggling. Meanwhile, Brady has been the one constant along with Belichik, so it’s only fair that he gets so much of the credit.

Antonio Iniguez Oh yeah? Belichik, yes. Go take a second and google the roster of the Pats first three superbowls. Hell, check out the roster for all of the Super Bowls. Then, go take a gander at what Drew Brees has had to work with. Go check out his receivers, tight ends, running backs. I know ... skill position players aren’t everything. But it certainly directly effects a QB’s success and production. As far as Sean Payton-he’s been a coach of the year and has been a top three coach his whole time in New Orleans. Result: one super bowl. Now, go look at what Peyton Manning had. His teams in Indy that dominated every regular season were loaded with hall of famers. He didn’t have amazing coaches outside of Dungy (arguably), but he had incredible talent on both sides of the ball; and he lost to Brady in the play offs over and over again. He did have an amazing career, but 4 Super Bowls, two wins. Go play that game with Arron Rodgers (amazingly talented teams, one super bowl), or any other QB you can think of, including throughout history. Check out the talent Mahomes is throwing to and being protected by currently. Brady did more (and is still doing it) with far less: no draft picks for top talent as a by-product of 20 years of success. Team philosophy of never paying talent and rarely trading for talent, and no one really outside of Moss for two seasons and an attempt at Antonio Brown. The guy is good. It’s true that no one does it alone, but he has been THE most important part of the Pats success. So again. Get back to me when Mahomes averages a super bowl every two years for the next 18 years and I will happily concede he is the best ever. It’s not like he doesn’t have talent around him and good coaching. Good luck with that, though.

The Patriots were caught cheating multiple times. Kinda tarnishes the legacy.
@79Glitch
@79Glitch 3 жыл бұрын
@@adog4661 Not at all. What were they caught cheating for? Filming the other teams’ practices? I would be willing to bet that every single team in the NFL has done that at various points and continue to do so to this day. When I was n high school, other schools would send people over to film our practices and we did the same (not film, but scout). Why didn’t other teams get caught? I’m not sure that other teams haven’t been caught; I would have to look into it. The Patriots example is famous because it happened during Super Bowl week, so the shared facilities made it possible to do so if I remember correctly (I’m not sure it was ever proved either; I don’t think they got punished for it, at least). The most recent thing was total b.s. I f you look into the story, someone very loosely associated with the Patriots-like an independent documentary guy-was on an opposing teams sideline at some point. Belichik and Kraft very credibly proved almost no association with the guy if I remember correctly. And then there is deflate gate: one of the most laughable b.s. scandals of all time. Brady plays in a cold weather outdoor stadium and therefore requests the minimum air limit for game balls by the staff in order to have a minuscule edge ... BECAUSE he has played his entire career in a cold weather, outdoor stadium and has learned a trick or too, unlike a Brees or Manning who played their careers in cozy, indoor stadiums (at least until Manning went to Mile High and suddenly didn’t have the arm strength to throw in outdoor, windy conditions, although that was injury related in fairness). Again, if you look into that story there is literally NOTHING there. Elementary school kids literally did science fair projects about “ideal gas law” or whatever it was that showed cold weather causes balls to loose air pressure, and the amount measured after the game that made the balls just barely below legal limit-like so much that you wouldn’t be able to tell as a lay person-matched up scientifically to the loss that would have transpired over the course of the game if Brady did indeed specify the lower limit for his game balls, which, again, is his right and strategically acquired knowledge from a long career in bad weather outdoors. Meanwhile, the game he got caught in? They won something like 45 to 10 over Indy and mostly ran the ball in the second half to run the clock. And after the suspension? Brady went on to win a he ultimate super bowl against Atlanta with the greatest come back maybe ever in post season. And then he proceeded to win another Super Bowl and lose another to Philly. And here we are again in 2021. 14 conference championships, 10super bowls in 19 seasons. I think the legacy is fully in tact; it’s undeniable.

In just his first season, with no practice games, and with the COVID,-19 pandemic, he wins number seven. He will be 44 years old in about 10 days, and is still the favorite to win his 8th with Tampa this season. I believe he'll do it. He wants to win ten. Great review Courtney. You're very intelligent. That come back, not only did the offense run on all cylinders for the remaining 20+ minutes of the game, but the defense as well just shut down every possible attempt to score. The Falcons never scored again after that last touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Considering how easily they were scoring all game before, clearly something snapped and clicked. They came up with a game plan, and executed it to a T.

What they were talking about in the video...the year they came back to win that Super Bowl is the previous season the NFL accused him of deflating footballs for grip or whatever. He was suspended for 4 games, and the Patriots STILL had one of the best records and won the championship. The guy speaking with the trophy near the end was the commissioner of the NFL, who suspended Brady. The Patriots winning that year torked him off to no end. You can tell by the way he walked off after handing the Patriots owner the trophy. HILARIOUS!!

Part of the reason this was confusing is because it was edited with highlights of Brady's career including other Super Bowl wins and even his college days. Not only was this the greatest win in Super Bowl history but it was the only game that his mother was able to attend that year after a battle with cancer. Brady had been suspended for four games at the start of that season for supposedly knowing about someone letting some air out of some footballs that supposedly makes them easier to catch in a previous playoff game. This was known as “deflategate”.
