There are only two branches meeting their recruiting goals Space Force and the Marine Corps. The other branches are averaging 60% of their quota. The Navy is basically mothballing 17 ships because they don’t have the manpower to properly manage their ships.

I know you like the USMC uniform. The Marine Dress uniform is considered to be one of the best in the world, and regularly gets voted in the top 3. It is a snazzy uniform, but they also are an elite corps at the same time. It is an iconic uniform that they earn with their tough training and long proud history. The sword is a left over from the days they boarded ships.
@carterrice83903 жыл бұрын
They aren’t an elite battle force but they are trained harder and faster than all other branches and are tougher than nails meant to take beach heads and secure them. They are first to the battle and they will always be the last to leave
@michaelbcohen3 жыл бұрын
@@carterrice8390 Marines are an elite force and are considered as such. Elite doesn't mean SpecOps, Elite means higher standard of training and harder admission standards, which they have. They are the Shock Troops of the US military and out rapid response and deployment force. They have the hardest basic training standards and the toughest training, and are used as an elite corps for military plans and doctrine purposes and have been since 1917 when they reinvented themselves as more than just the navy's soldiers but rather a true fighting force on their own,
@carterrice83903 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you said in your second comment and first I just didn’t know what you considered elite
@afcgeo8823 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbcohen A minimum ASVAB score of 31 is hardly a high benchmark to meet. While the boot camp is the hardest, the follow-on training is usually far less technical or lengthy than other branches’. The Marines have become, since the 1950’s, a more flexible land infantry force, far from what it was designed to be: an amphibious expeditionary force. That’s turning back now, with the elimination of armor, most heavy artillery, heavy helicopter squadrons and a renewed focus on amphibious warfare. Also, no, the Marines are not the first ones in the fight. Not in modern warfare. Special operations forces establish looooong before any Marine touches the ground. Even Air Force has units that are not special operations that go in before a beachhead invasion. Speaking of... the last Marine amphibious operation was in Somalia, against zero enemy. The last one with actual combat involved was Grenada, where the Army and Air Force landed at the same time. This ain’t 1917 and it’s not a Lance’s wet dream story. Modern warfare doesn’t work that way.
@afcgeo8822 жыл бұрын
@James Thompson Perhaps your lack of English comprehension is EXACTLY what I’m talking about. The average AIT in the Marine Corps is shorter than the average schools the other branches have. The Corps have a lot fewer technical career fields. Pulling out a couple of specific MOSs doesn’t change the average and you don’t actually even know the length of that training, obviously. Try being intelligent instead of butthurt. Even your own comment says most technical training is done be the Navy.

Funniest story he told me was during boot camp, his bunkmate was tricked into speaking with the Senior Drill Instructor. The bunkmate was a 6 foot 3inch, 220 pound lumberjack. To be able to enter a DI's office and speak, you have knock on the door frame really hard until acknowledged. The guy starts knocking, DI responds "I cant HEAR you!!"; and this goes on until the lumberjack got pissed off and he actually PUNCHED through the door. You can guess what happened next

The Marine commercials are good but, I still think the best US military commercial to this day is the one from years ago with the Navy Seals. There's no music, no voice-over, no talking. Just a beach at night. The mood gets covered by the clouds and it gets even darker. Then the moon comes back out and there are footsteps on the beach, which are quickly washed away by the waves. Amazing commercial, just a silent and to the point as the Navy Seals themselves.

He asked me if I was interested in joining the corps. I told him "Sir. Yes, sir... I'm just sure if I would quite qualify physically any longer...." (Brief pause...) "There is something that makes you feel this way?" he asked. "Well sir... From the waist down, I've got quite a bit of metal in my body, sir." "Ooh! Car accident?" he replied. "Well.... Yes, sir. As a Marine I will say that I am a 4th generation Marine. It was a family tradition and I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. Becoming a Marine isn't for just anyone. The training is rigorous, and many don't even make it through boot-camp, which is the toughest, longest, most difficult boot-camp in all of the US Military. When you first have the Eagle Globe and Anchor placed in your hand and your Senior Drill Instructor is the 1st to call you a United States Marine, man it's truly a remarkable, humbling, amazing experience you'll never forget. The Marine Corps has truly perfected the art of taking girls and boys to then transform them into remarkable men and women who are lean, mean, fighting machines that many of our enemies fear, enemies who we haunt their very dreams, like deadly boogeyman. The Somalies and Iraqi Republican Guard called us 'Devils in the black boots', and the Germans during WWI called us 'Tufelhunden' meaning Devil Dogs, but our US citizens and allies call us United States Marines. The DRESS WHITE UNIFORM Is gorgeous also but only commissioned officers have the dress, blues and dress whites. do US Marine are part of the department of the navy… The difference is that they’re harder to train, and the amphibious force. In fact, it is so much more difficult to be a US Marine, that if you’re a Marine and years later, you decide to go into the army or the army reserves or Air Force or even in the army National Guard, you don’t have to go to their Boot Camp. NOO!! Basic training, Boot Camp is probably twice as hard for marines than it is for the US Army. It’s hell in Paris Island because if you go in the summer, it’s hot as hell, and then the sand fleas bite the hell out of you.. I’ve even told people if they’re going to go to basic training and live east of the Mississippi River to please go to Paris Island during the spring or fall.. Anybody that’s been in the army, U.S. Navy US Air Force who wants to go in the Marine Corps later does have to go in the boot camp

No one can say the Marines ever ran from a battle or leave behind a fallen fellow Marine. But, each of the armed forces has roles that put its members in harm's way and require courage and discipline. One example would be the hell the Marines went through on Guadalcanal. If I recall the Marines lost about 1700+ heroes. Meanwhile, naval actions around the island took the lives of around 5000 Navy personnel. All had a part to play. Just an example.

Also, what Marine would ever include any nasty ass, weak, Army Ranger bullshit in a Marine Corps recruitment video, we have absolutely no desire to be even associated anything Army, especially for those of you who study US Military history and know anything about the US Army in Korea. Thankfully after a US Army retreat, they were kind enough to run away and leave behind all kinds of brand new, fresh out of the crate, US Military weapons, ammo, and vehicles, which the Marine Corps had to clean and refurbish in the field, but in the end gave the Marine Corps the ability to whoop some serious , AND mostly Chinese Army and Northern Korean Army ass. So much appreciated, US Army, much appreciated, Semper Fi!

The Army’s and chair force advertisement budgets are much bigger then the Marines,,.. but the Marines always somehow manage to have the best advertisements of all branches,,.. Go Navy i guess?,..

Oh yeah? Care to tell us how much their budgets are? Keep in mind that these expenses should be weighted per recruit, not in total. Spending $2 million to recruit 1 million people is not the same as spending $2 million to recruit 10,000 in a targeted campaign.

You definitaly should react to Sabaton videos. If you think militar commercials are good, militar themed metal is way better
