@newzealandpolice
@newzealandpolice 6 жыл бұрын
At work not that often, It's probably more common out of town. I've come across it in my private travels before and had to call 111. I've found it is less to do with them not knowing the rules and mostly just not being prepared for how challenging some of our roads are. Best thing you can do is slow down, give space and call us if they are a risk to other road users. - Constable Hurn.
@pauljameson1

@@newzealandpolice Great advice! It's interesting here in the US considering we have 50 states where everyone drives on the right side of the road, compared to major population areas in Europe where quite a few things are different 😂
@newzealandpolice

@@pauljameson1 Yeah! I found driving in the US to be quite straight forward and loved rolling though the roads in the more rural parts of California. We've got some really challenging and narrow roads here including single lane bridges, tight bends and some patchy surface changes so I always encourage people to take a scenic pace regardless of the route. - Constable Hurn.

@@newzealandpolice Oh that's cool! I never knew you have been to California! I guess that's our Constable Hurn fact of the day 😝Yeah, driving in the US isn't too hard. Hi Maighan I'm the one who sent Constable Hurn the Queensland Police patches. Most police forces are reluctant to give out patches as they form part of the uniform. Too many have used patches illegally as a form of identification. I think in Australia police can legally confiscate any police items a civilian may have, as they are technically crown property. As Constable Hurn said, buy some of their goodies. They look more fun than patches anyway. Might have to get the Police dog duo for my grandkids!!
