I emigrated to NZ in 2001 from the UK and I’ve never regretted especially when I watch a great vlog like yours. It’s also reminded me how lucky I am to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. ( Southland) Known as “ gods own”

I knew it would be well worth the wait. Absolutely fabulous. A joy to watch from beginning to end. I plan to watch it again. I love New Zealand and although I don't think of myself as someone who would enjoy an organized tour like this, I realize that we missed so much on our self-organized exploration of the South Island, which means we must return. What truly puzzles me about your channel is why you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The quality of the videos you consistently produce deserves that kind of recognition. Thank you for another example of that excellence.

So glad you loved NZ. I feel privileged to have lived in Nelson, Golden Bay in the Able Tasman and Christchurch. Stunning video as always, brought back great memories. In my opinion NZ is the best place on earth and should be on everyone's bucket list. Your video's deserve 1 million thumbs up.

Glad you are enjoying NZ but there are not just 2 National Parks in New Zealand, there are 13 , 3 in the North Island/Te Ika-a-Māui and 10 in the South Island/Te Waipounamu

Thank you, you are of course right. I think we meant that it was one of two that we would be visiting on our tour of the South Island but we did make it sound like there were only two in total, our mistake. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and for commenting 😊

This has become my favoUrite series on this channel. There’s just so much presented and so much I’ve never thought to know about or see in this incredible land. Such a grand adventure and that the cake was saved would make my Indiana Jones inspired hike. Come to think of it, they should have based one of those movies in New Zealand. They have some of the perfect locations and history and lore. I’ve seen videos about the earthquake in Christchurch and how iconic the church was and so with the expense to save it AND earthquake-proof it! They say Southern California has got everything. New Zealand has got EVERYthing!! Oh. To see a high-rise waterfall.

Thank you so much for an absolutely superb video. The helicopter ride; Queenstown; Milford Sound and Mount Cook views are particularly stunning. My nephew has just returned from a month in NZ, and he said the scenery is unworldly in parts. I can see why ! You were so right to give this just short of an hours viewing time. Anything less would have been criminal !

I have never been to New Zealand, but with your almost hour long video, I feel like I was right there with you! You took us along your extensive journey, taking in some very amazing views and scenery, even going on a helicopter ride and landing on a glacier (🤔), taking in small “Old Western” towns, eating some delicious food including those tempting pies🥰 I can only imagine the kind of work, time and effort you put in to “bang out” - your term- a video this long- and I so appreciate it! Shall I be awaiting a new video on your trip to India next?🤞🤞

The first bungy jump was actually from Clifton Suspension bridge in 1979 by the Oxford University's Dangerous Sports Club. Kawarau Bridge was the first permanent commercial bungee site.
@visitwithus10 ай бұрын
You win the 'most observant viewer' prize! Yes indeed that was the case, but the Kawarau was where commercial and more widespread bungy jumping began and thus is considered the OG and the 'home' of bungy. :)

Hi Helen & Jeff. We are doing this same trip with Riviera Travel next March. It looks amazing. One question for you. Could you advise on essential packing items. I can see rainwear is a must. What was the temperature like? Do we need to take a mixture of cold and warm weather clothes? Thanks
@visitwithus2 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching. We loved this tour and hope you enjoy it as much as we did. With regards to packing, yes you will need a mix of warm and cold weather clothing. Up in the Bay of Islands it’s quite warm and tropical then down in the fjords and Mount cook region you can almost guarantee some wet, cooler weather. Layers and a good raincoat are a must. We would also highly recommend using packing cubes. We had never used them prior to this trip but they’re invaluable when you’re living out of a suitcase - it just makes it easier to find things. Enjoy your trip 👍
@rmiceli102 ай бұрын
@@visitwithus thanks so much for replying and for your advice, so invaluable. Sounds a bit like the weather we’re experiencing at the moment in the UK. My daughter swears by packing cubes too so will definitely invest in some. Happy travelling! Rita

The "dreaded" Cook Strait sorts out the boys from the girls. It can get very rough but it's only a couple of hours in the open strait. Try 3 days in a North Atlantic storm to sort out the men. Hearing the English complaining about the weather is priceless. Sometimes I wonder about the attitude of the British people. Yes, New Zealand is very special compared to the mayhem of England. But why pick out the tiny little things that you find different? I am glad you enjoyed your visit.

Nice filming. We enjoyed NewZealand too. Unfortunately our glacier trip got cancelled twice, due to high winds. Money refunded of course. We managed a helicopter trip to a glacier in Alaska several years later and went husky sledging on it which was amazing. We were very lucky with our weather in Dec when we went, no rain. The shotover jet up the canyon near arrow town and queenstown was fantastic. Look forward to seeing the other films. Many thanks.

Thank you for watching 😊 A pity that your helicopter ride was cancelled but sounds like you more than made up for it with husky sledging in Alaska (on Helen’s bucket list if she can ever get Rich in a helicopter again 😆).

New Zealand is cursed, but in a good way, you just have to go back to see the places you missed the first time around. A suggestion, next time hire a car and take your time and immerse yourself in the country. If you’re prepared to do something different I can recommend staying in some of the hostels… the jailhouse in Christchurch is what it says a converted 19th century prison and is great fun.
