New Zealand really is a unique place all on its own. Dare I admit, I couldn’t help but relate it to Australia before. But it’s like comparing southern or Mid Western states in the U.S. You just can’t. Indiana and Missouri are quite different, indeed. So much native history in New Zealand as well that I didn’t know about. That tree walk looks incredible. What an enriching country.

Nice filming. We went in mid Dec and Jan and we’re very lucky with the weather it was hot for us. Back home in England was bad snow the year we went. We spent three days in Bay of island and Christmas Day was very different seeing lots In Christmas hats on the beach. We went through the rocks in a very fast boat and even after sun cream we got a bit burnt as the wind blew our hair back. We enjoyed Auckland and north island. We never experienced too much smell in Rotorua luckily. We visited South Island which we enjoyed too. We will watch your film on South Island too.

Thank you for watching and commenting 👍 Tbf we were quite lucky with the weather in the whole, but it was quite tropical in the Bay of Islands 😁

Thoroughly enjoy watching both of you present so many spectacular ships and places around the world. I was rather surprised you had been to NZ and started off in my current home city Auckland. Mince and cheese, always perceived as a local and very popular pie, but the Aussies certainly have them as well. I have a close friend who is an Australian who says he thinks they are a more recent thing over there but perhaps its the Pavlova argument all over again...

Believe it or not you actually get used to the odour in Rotorua and after a while you don't even notice it and I for one can guarantee that I would prefer Rotorua's natural odour over the natural odour that is almost a certainty after a good feed of Mexican 🥁🥁🥁 lol ... thoroughly enjoying your vid's of your NZ trip and your quirky quips ... and tell your friends back in Blighty that if they want to visit NZ that our climate is temperate not tropical and that four seasons in one day is not at all unusual anywhere in any of the islands (I have seen 6 inches of snow on the ground in the Central Nth Island in both December and January) and usually the best (read most stable) weather is from mid January thru to early April.

Mince and cheese pies sounds like a NZ thing. Pavlova on the other hand, we (Australia) and New Zealand both lay claim to. Great video, really enjoyed it, particularly as we were in NZ in late March/early April 2023 on Celebrity Eclipse out of Sydney. Sorry you missed Napier, it was beautiful. Looking forward to the next episode.

We did that hole in the wall tour a few years ago. The boar doubled as the postal service to some islands. We sat outside and by the end of the tour we were feeling a bit wobbly. We went indoors to get a drink and found loads of people lying on the floor seasick

Oh yeah, Auckland was underwater the last weekend of January that year! Nowhere near as bad as Hawke's Bay though

After that intro, I had to instantly fast forward to the cave moment - the speed of the boat heading towards the rocks made me feel just a little uncomfortable, ha! Also, the sea was SO rocky that day - hope you packed a few 'comfort bags' to be on the safe side...!!

When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?

As a youngster I had a favourite place in the old forest, a knol beneath the trees covered in pine needles where at a certain time of day the sun penetrated the canopy for 30 minutes, I would lay there soaking up the sounds of the birds in the warm sun. Heavenly.

hi there! a bit curious about your canceled journey to Napier - the cyclone had hit in 2022 so I think it's quite open for business in Nov 2023. Is this an old video?

We were there in February 2023 at the Treaty grounds when the winds started howling and by the next morning the once in a century cyclone hit and we were stuck in our hotel room. It was storming like you can’t imagine. The power kept going on and off. We were so disappointed to come all the way from San Diego only to be stuck in our hotel room when we were supposed to be on the same boat ride through the hole in the rock. Somehow we made it back to Auckland driving through flooded countryside and snapped trees. We were able to complete our 3 week luxury coach trip through the north and south islands. I must say New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world even with less than ideal weather………BTW we choose to come in February because it was supposed to be the best month to visit. Thanks Mother Nature 😎

Why do a coach tour of NZ? As there are two of you, you don't need the company of others, you both appear young enough to still be able to share the driving, the language in NZ is no problem, and NZ is incredibly safe, even for tourists, so you don't need a tour guide. Could you not have followed the same itinerary, stayed in the same accommodation, done the same excursions and arranged your own flights for significantly less? Please explain.
@visitwithus
@visitwithus 23 күн бұрын
We don’t really have the time to research all of the things we would want to do and arrange all of the hotel stays etc so we chose this option and really enjoyed it. We liked travelling with others and making new friends and having someone else worry about the schedules and planning. Hope that helps.
