C'mon England, this is your typical excuse when you lose to the better team on a day/night, regardless of the circumstances. Just because you have 14 while NZ has 15 doesn't mean you will have outscored NZ by lots of points if you had 15? I don't think so! NZ is a capable team. They would be a different team if you had 15. You should have said, "it would be a different game", not that you would have outscored us by "plenty" if you had 15? That's arrogance of you, English players. You haven't even beat the Black Ferns since the WC started. And yet, they beat you a few times. The French had a chance to defeat us last week, but missed a simple goal shot that could have given them the victory, but they didn't. You could have won against us tonight, but you mishandled the ball on the line-out that could have given you an easy shot at victory. Again, you did not. While you had a strong and organized forward pack, New Zealand had a better back-line pack. You had an easy opportunity, and you missed it. It's not NZ's fault but yours alone for not being careful when in contact with a carrier. The issue isn't about having 14 against 15. You just didn't nailed it. It's a better team who wins tonight. So be humbled by your defeats. This is Rugby! You both played superbly tonight. Well done!

the interpretations of head clashes are seriously confusing, who does the rule Favour in situations like this the ball carrier or defender.?? because the ball carrier and defender could fly in head first simultaneously and both get seriously hurt who gets the red?? if the defender came off second best would portia be red carded if both get knocked out is it 2 red cards? i'm a black ferns supporter and very happy they won a beat england but the head collision rules are confusing

I’m a Kiwi and after 20 minutes I thought we were gone for all money. Even with 14 on the paddock I thought England were too strong especially after losing Portia Woodman. With a minute or so to go I’d checked out but did believe that our only chance was to contest the line out which we hadn’t done the whole match and we managed to pinch it at the death. Woohooo!

I am a Kiwi and support our girls the Black Ferns wholeheartedly but I was so in awe of Englands brilliant driving mauls and scoring from them I was clapping for them too because of the awesome quality of rugby they bought to the game. Playing with 14 players for most of the game with a crowd of 40,000 or so fans cheering on the Black Ferns England played bloody exceptionally and they nearly pulled off a victory too. That game went down to the wire. Be proud and hold your heads high English Red Roses because you were bloody awesome. True rugby fans from NZ applaud your effort and great rugby prowess. Magic.

Well to be fair England was the better side through their power play forwards... They did loose a player however they were still leading the game until the NZ scored.... so at the end of the day regardless of the red card.. it was 50/50 in the dying seconds of that line out could have been a different result. Just goes to show you can be 30 and 0 but it's the final game of the world cup that counts, any team on their day can achieve that. now NZ is the superior team of world cup finals dispatching England in 5th straight finals.

Your last point is a bit triumphalist. Rugby is the only real team game in NZ moreover only a handful of teams in the competition are professional. The sent of English player took out NZ most dangerous attacking player (Woodman has scored more point in WR test history). had the incident never happened I'd wager a heap that the Kiwis would have scored another couple of trys through the Woodman factor. And its not like the Kiwis had a prefect game the number of handling errors was nearly three times that of England's - scrum penalties were all in England's favour etc. My take on it is that England easily the best team on the tournament, better decision making, less errors but on the night slipped in the last five seconds to lose a near certain victory. No disgrace, there was nothing left behind by either team, and the kiwis will be revived that they escaped. It was a bad way to win and good way to loose. ''

As for the interviewee predicting the Roses would have "absolutely" won by "plenty" but for the red card, I think that's just the grief talking. NZ plays to the 80+ minutes at speed, power, & pace, throughout. Those lumbering Roses forwards would've fatigued out by the 60min mark imo. But who knows?

Haha!!! As a Kiwi, England should learn how to tackle...legally. if it was 15 against 15 NZ would still have won. England had a flat attack, whereas NZs attack was lethal. Remember NZs best attacking weapon was taken out of the game due to a foul tackle. So had the teams had 50-50 ball NZs attack would have made the difference. So comiserations England, 4 more years.

England only plays with 8 players (i.e. the forwards) so losing someone didn't really make any difference to them except in defence of a team that plays an expansive style of rugby that involves 15 players. The better team won and hopefully these dull rolling mauls will be outlawed as it should be called offside... having a player in front of you clearing the way is hardly rugby is it??!! 🥱🥱
