Ive been contemplating getting the e800 to get the most range but after you mentioned that note with the speed of the motor you're so right, I'd be better off with the micro plus. That would also save me at least 5lbs of extra weight since I hear these sliders are quite heavy (I carry tons of equipment alone to shoots).

Hey hey again Mike! Definitely, it would be great to see sliders that have long travel distances but have a belt system that does allow it to zoom quickly. Unfortunately such a system would need to be much larger because of the physics of it all :(

Of course the arts still need to be taught. We learn through other mediums, visual, auditory, olfaction, textures and movement. It allows us to articulate our senses, share our thoughts, passion and expression in so many enlightening and entertaining ways with amazing results that evoke emotion in others. Just as athletes have coaches our teachers coach us to explore our medium, question ourselves to be better and explore further. My art background allows me to see a different world, a world of colour and appreciation in so many design and natural elements. It brings me calm in chaos and detail in distraction. I love to pull apart scenes and recreate my world in a way that makes sense to me. I’m a visual person and think in pictures and now refocusing on myself and skills helps me in our world and see patterns and processes others cannot see. Entertaining videos as always, but I just wish I could make out the “DR” part of TL DR in your intro.

Thank you for mentioning the max slider speed, are you able to manually push it faster than the motor?…If so, how fast are you able to do it?
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker 3 жыл бұрын
Hey hey RewDowns! Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question! Yes, you can push it much faster than the motor however you need to make sure your tripod is super heavy or grounded down with your legs or something. Because if you just try to send the slider over to the other side like a non-dampened slider, you're going to tip the whole thing over. All that being said you can probably make the full 37" in slide by hand in 7-10 seconds approx. Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!

Hey hey again Suprahead! If iFootage ever reaches out to me to give their Shark Nano a look and test, I will. I remember seeing it at NAB last year and it was pretty impressive. I'm not too sure if it would fit my narrative needs though as I prefer to manually operate. But I can see it being used for establishing style shots for narrative films and of course youtube tech reviews.

Hey hey again Al Sali! I hear ya, I've told the company not having a manual option that is quick to either install or just flip between the motor mode is a big mistake in terms of overall usability. We will see if in the 2nd generation of their slider that they will implement this.

Great review, thank you so much TLDR. Yes we people as human being, should all learn art or a bit of art, but that would bring up another two questions. Can art be taught? especially in nowadays mass education system which somehow give more favorite and focus on teaching skill, technique and knowledge instead of the beauty and inspiration of art. sometime, when art becomes a subject of school lesson, it becomes part of "education" instead of inspiration. it then leads to the next question, who can teach art? especially in school, is the textbook teaching art well? is the teacher artist? I am from the third world country Malaysia, I learn a bit of painting and drawing in school, but no until I have a chance to visit National Gallery Museum London and Louvre Museum Paris in person, I could never appreciate to or inspired by the stunning classic arts that have been made hundreds of year. These arts along many other form of art made me confess to the mistake I made at my young age when my art teacher taught me that she can't teach art through text book while I have been taught always that every good knowledge must be delivered through the text of book. Thank you TLDR for asking the question, you help me recall a lot, about the journey of my understanding to art : ).

Unfortunately I bought the Zeapon Micro, and it came with the rail wheels broken, they are made of plastic and at least two are broken, with one having a loose piece. I contacted Zeapon and they ask for $57 plus taxes to ship new wheels to me... I discovered that I'm not the only one with that problem, there's more reports on Amazon about that problem. Everything looks great but the rail wheels are of very low quality.

Nice slider, great questions. The arts actualize our collective humanity and individual personalities. The creative expression of our imagination nurtures society and is good for the human spirit. Through my art I have found a way to process my thoughts, re-live the good times, exorcise the bad times, and express that which only I can express. Art is my therapy. Without it, my heart would implode, and my brain would turn to stone. At least that’s what I imagine would happen.

Bro keep up the fantastic work! I’m learning more all the time. 💯 *Why should arts still be taught?* The arts represent the strongest link to our history, both creatively and developmentally. They are a fundamental conduit for expression and performance; allowing us to know that humanity is not measured by any one single metric. To lose access to the teachings of those that would help you comprehend that world, leads us sharply toward creative descent. *How has your art affected you?* My art has been the answer to the question; why am I here. Creativity was not always seen as a gift in my childhood household, which meant pursuing it was unlikely. Since using my art to learn more about the creative process, I have grown as an artist. I have also become more able to create consistently and appreciate the difference between critique and criticism.

Being how divisive the world has become, if taught and properly awaken in a person, the arts might be the best medium that can actually turn a decision into the right decision. How a simple creative thought or single artistic creation can potentially affect more than its creator. It may affect another person, a gang friends, a cult, a culture or even Mankind by its simplest of ideas. The Arts affected my life at stages and in stages that I couldn't have ever predicted. Call it luck, knowledge, personal experience, philosophy, good timing, perseverance, skill, creativity or simply who I was, become, and will be and always in transition of learning something new. Who is to know how arts affected me or anyone else for that mater. For certain audience, a work or art is unattainable simply because one cannot imagine how another person was able to create such work. From the creators' point of view it couldn't have been simpler or clearer in their mind. I just pull art out of my hat most of the time and this has created opportunities for me all my life.

I think that we need to keep teaching the arts for a couple of reasons. On a technical level because it may help some gain employment especially since it seems like the arts will (if not already) be a big part of our everyday (knowingly or unknowingly) and it may help/or not get your foot in the door. It can help you identify others on the same wavelength or build friendships with people of the same elk. On the artistic side it could help elevate the various different crafts or at the very least help the artistically minded express themselves. My art has affected me in a way that I believe many others can probably relate to. It has given me the ability to express myself and in some ways has given me an outlet at times when life has been rough. Even if I may never work on a major project or earn a living I believe that the release art gives is well worth it. Great vid. Not too many of the KZbinrs talking about the Zeapon slider. I was curious, thanks!

Why should arts still be taught? Arts are a source of inspiration and creativity, the creative construct is basically copy, combine and transform, without the teaching of arts there is a lack of base to admire copy and creating. How has your art affected you? My art as a videographer has taught me to be extremely patient I have never been so patient for event than before and i learned how to use associative thinking which derived many interesting mixes and creative ideas which I apply today

The Zeapon E800 looks awesome, would love to try it out, heard great things! You have to buy the manual version and the motor separately to use the manual push? That's something they should get on top and include a manual belt. Congrats on the 20K Jason 🔥
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker 3 жыл бұрын
Hey hey again Phillip! Yea, you have to take off the belt as the motor has a built in belt. Depending on how nimble your fingers are it can be a couple minute process. This was one of the biggest critical things I told them when the Micro 2 got its motor as it hinders the user experience. But yea, I later find out that if you buy the motor version, the manual belt you would require is not included.... again.... reaaallly have no idea what marketing they were going for, it literally makes no sense if they insist to not have a motor that can disengage yet. But at the same time, with these longer sliders, I feel it depends on how you will use it. For me I prefer manual slide and will only use the motor for the smaller Micro 2. Thank you so much man! I'm blessed that people want to watch my content, come 2021 I want to try and give the community more. Lots of work! Hope you are well my friend!

Art lets us dream about what is possible and reach beyond the limitations of our everyday existence. To me, it goes hand in hand with philosophy, another subject which I feel is sadly missing in the current state of society. It requires us to question "why?". And I can't think of anything more important than that. I also want to say that art and creativity are not limited to the so called "arts", but can be applied to all fields, no matter how unartistic they may seem. Even mundane tasks like cleaning or folding clothes can be approached in an artful manner. Personally, I try to apply creativity (art) to everything I do.

Ok this is complicated to put into words and not come across as a massive douche bag but i'd like to come at this as a (now) teacher....i play 15 musical instruments I taught myself to play ALL of them but the technique i developed for one of them was a totally new approach and in the following 40 or so years has gone on to become the basis for the majority of the worlds players, apparently it was a game changer but small problem...i sucked as a teacher back then and no handy internet to pause and rewind back then so players i was close to picked up my style and skillfully passed on my ideas to others. This creates the apparent paradox of a new style that may never have been created if i'd been taught but wouldn't have survived without it being taught to others and right there is the heart of the matter for 'teaching' Arts. You can give people all the tools they require but the spark still has to come from within however once it has been ignited it needs the community to fan the flames

Photography is the art and science of capturing light and shadow... the true craft of any creative form is finding that balance. There is much less time wasted in learning formally from more experienced people and institutions who may have made or tested many mistakes that we can avoid especially with the less subjective aspects. Education also serves to expose other techniques and processes which we may not consider on our own.

Hey hey again Mohd E! Pretty much any stand manfrotto QR system will work, I used a cheap one from Neewer/Andoer. But at the end of the day, its better to just mount the slider directly onto your tripod and not on a QR system. This is just because the QR and fluid head could add some unwanted movement depending on what you have. If you already have something like a Manfrotto 502 video head, simply just use that QR plate or any other long plate and you're good to go.

There are two options depending on your videography style, while this Zeapon M800 will work, you are limited to a very specific shot and distance whether it is a dolly in, or a peak around the corner of a door shot. Some real estate videographers op'd for a gimbal so they can make a longer shot or be able to walk the entire hallway etc etc. So you'll have to ask yourself what shot fits your style, are there short well constructed slides, or super long takes through mansion. Art certainly should be taught/guided/structured in some form, I have had a somewhat failed artistic education with overly left field academies where they didn't wish to constrain our creativity with a syllabus... however, I truly believe that under the right guidance and instruction one can nurture their creative and artistic potential better than on their own. For me I'm a failed architect/designer, however, have found in times in my life where I wasn't being creative to the times I was, certainly struck a powerful contrast to my wellbeing. In school, art lessons were rather deterrent and did not promote an understanding of art. But through music I came into the musical circles and into contact with all other artists of all genres. This was eye-opening and not only made me understand art in the first place, but also changed my view of society and the world. Unfortunately my band did not have the success to make a living out of it and broke up. But I still had the love to be creative and to create. Filmmaking connects all areas of art that interest me. And one learns constantly and never stops. But the most important thing is the exchange with other creative people and their exciting influences on my feelings and thoughts. So I am still growing as a person, which only art can create.

Thanks for the videos! Art provides people with a valued result for the effort invested. As a kid, I felt no real sense of accomplishment for completing the day to day assignments in my classes, and I developed poor study habits as a result. I did, however, put in the time and effort to accomplish the Photography class assignments because the resulting product had a tangible value. I learned through this class that putting in the effort, gaining the knowledge and experience, and solving problems (rather than living with them) can result in something I value,. This meant those things I needed do to get that final product are valuable and need to be practiced and improved. It helped me maintain at least some sense of work ethic until a time came when I could see the larger picture of why these skills are valuable.

Well, because it shape your mind differently. Art is though since a young age. I thing the problem is they stop teaching us. On the other hand,you can't really teach art. You can teach/learn techniques and obtaining an artistic result is up to you, imo

Nice review as always. As for art, it's as critical as learning to write or do math - the latter are useful skills in a professional sense and navigating the practical world but the expression of art helps us navigate our individual emotional and spiritual makeup. It provides a palette for us to explore who we are as individuals, as a species and how we fit into this world in relation to everything we coexist with. From a psychological perspective, art is therapy, it teaches us discipline and structure and at the same time sets us free. Art is also a universal global language in both a contemporary sense and a historical sense helping us understand and relate to those who are different and those in the past - art, as much as science, helps us see into the future and prepare for it. Personally, art has helped me get through the ups and downs of life. Its given me confidence, freedom and incredible experiences I would never have had. It's also connected me to people and cultures in a way that has made me a better person.

Not everyone is an academic, that could be through choice, general ability or because of a learning disability. Yet, arts gives “everyone” the opportunity to express themselves in a way that suites them best and to be passionate about. The art of film making has enabled me to help people with disabilities to tell their story in a way which they are comfortable with. Letting others know what it is like to be them and how we can best communicate with them. It has given me the power to give them a voice and power.

Hey hey again János! I'm not aware or another company that also uses the fluid dampening type. However some of them may be doing it, but not marketing it as such. I still have yet to play with sliders from iFootage, Edelkron, and Rhino.

@@TLDR_filmmaker Thanks for the answer TLDR!!! Yeah dampening is very important... This Zeapon is great but a bit on the expensive side. I wonder if someone have similar for somewhat less. There are so many Chinese company doing similar things... :-) I have to look around :-) Thanks a lot!!!

Arts are important for allowing persons the opportunity to explore their creativity, even people who are pure academics could benefit from the way it opens you up to possibilities. Discovering videography gave me something to be passionate about, being able to combine the various components (visuals, lighting, audio) and paint a complete picture with the edit gives me a kind of fulfilment that nothing I did before ever could, I never tire of learning new things to help me improve and share what I learn with others.

Thanks a lot. I'd really like to get a slider for my short films and a few other cinematic projects I do. For now, I am using crop to get a similar effect - though I'm missing out on that beautiful artistic parallax. On the topic of being artistic (or not - in my case), I never have been good at the arts you learn at school. Still, I always have had a deep appreciation for art of all kind. From paintings to books, music, images, theater, movies and everything else, I deeply appreciate the work that goes into it. Being exposed to art awakes in me the desire to be creative, to go out of my way to create something beautiful. And if in the end, it is a mediocre short movie shot with friends, that art that makes me happy. And that's what it is all about for me ultimately. Art makes me happy, and I want others to experience this too. This is why I actually make an active effort to continue to teach art by helping groups of students of my old school to develop and shoot short movies with my gear, and have encouraged the school to get computers powerful enough to do series video editing for these projects.

Honestly wasn't expecting an answer (especially this quickly); don't know what exactly I was expecting - you surpassed my expectations, that's the only thing I know, and it feels weird having to say that. I love how you treat this community. Your videos have become one of the go-to sources for camera tech. While talking about camera tech, Zhiyun recently released the second iteration of their Image Transmission Transmitter and claims some pretty interesting improvements alongside a lower price. I'd love to see a review on that; do you have contacts to Zhiyun to ask them for a unit to test?
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker 3 жыл бұрын
I try my best while i'm still a "small channel" :) , the day I can't really answer everything will be a sad day for me. I didn't hear about the new Image Transmission from Zhiyun, I'll have to read up on it a little bit. I don't have contacts directly with Zhiyun, but with resellers. While it is cool that Zhiyun has their own wireless transmitter, I feel its not always the best move to make things proprietary. For the small team creators, it may be ok, but it makes it harder to upgrade to a larger team with multiple cameras that are not on gimbals necessarily. I think it would have been more interesting if Zhiyun created an area where a wireless transmitter could be placed for whatever the user decides to choose, and then offer the Zhiyun version along side it. That way people have choices that can work both ways as their team and gear grows. This'll make sense in another review I have coming haha.
@DesertCookie
@DesertCookie 3 жыл бұрын
As of right now, the transmitter happens to mount to the Weebilss S. You might as well mount it to a coldshoe mount though. In theory, you can use this transmitter with any setup and every wireless transmitter with their gimbals - I just won't fit as sleekly in the intended place and you'll have to use one of the 1/4" mounts.

It does sound like an amazing slider. I'd really be interested in some timelapse perspectives on it since that is my main used for a slider. The arts are critical to the advancement of a society. They have a shockwave of positive effects to social constructs and can bring joy to otherwise dark times. I was lucky enough to go to a magnet elementary school for the arts and I believe this set me, as well as so many of my friends up for a path of success. Not in just school, but in life. Music was the cornerstone of my fundamental understanding of math and science (sound propagation). Also, as someone that struggles with dyslexia, it was my only outlet sometimes and helped me find meaning when not many things made sense. The arts for sure saved my life in so many ways. This is why I am making sure my kids get as much access to them as possible.

Hey hey again Two Shea Films! Thank you so much for checking out this video and for your submission! I am confirming that I have read your entry and have it logged. I think there are some other reviews out there that have used it for this purpose, I'm not much of a timelapser so I don't feel terribly qualified to speak on its features. I just know its cable of it as there are camera cables that allow the motor to talk to the camera. Thanks again for stopping by and sharing your story!
