Great review Todd! You explained the functions very clearly... I've had my motorized Zeapon since mid-September and it's the best slider I've used so far - like you I have a non-motorized slider (a Konova) which is OK but it's hard to get smooth motion when sliding by hand. A few months ago bought a (cheap!) Neewer motorized slider, which is OK for video shots but useless for timelapse, because it makes the move to the next position immediately before taking the shot rather than afterwards, which means it jerks the camera each time! The Zeapon is much more rigid and has no vibration when making timelapses. I haven't shot any day to night timelapses but thanks for the tip about not being able to pause a timelapse while it's in progress - hopefully Zeapon can update their app to make that possible. I've used mine to make some promo videos for a watch company and it's been perfect for that - I used a fairly cheap motorized turntable to put the watches on so I could get a panning effect at the same time as a slide. Hopefully Zeapon will bring out the add-ons that they have "teased" in their app!

I really appreciate the quality work you put into this and all of your reviews. I did find an add-on time lapse device on Amazon. Like you mentioned many time laps photography require the addition of Pan or Tilt or both. Here is a straight link to the device. Similar ease of use and simplistic construction make it a good match. Description: Movo/Sevenoak Programmable Panoramic Time-Lapse Tripod Head with Adjustable Rotating Angle, Direction, and Speed - Compatible with Smartphones, GoPro, Mirrorless and DSLR Cameras up to 4.4 Lbs

This was super helpful Todd. I'm just starting to venture into the video world on my own. My background is mixed ... but mostly commercial and studio still work for many many years. My Zeapon Micro 2 E800 will arrive in a few days. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos in the upcoming days and weeks. BTW ... I immediately recognized the skyline location at Boulevard and The Freedom Parkway. I lived within 4 blocks of that bridge for many many years ... even before the Freedom Parkway was ever there. Thanx again for that informative Zeapon review.

Hey Todd. Great video - definitely looking at getting this to step up some product shots. Also - your color grading looks incredible. Love it on your b-roll and talking head shots.

Thanks for the comprehensive review Todd. The android app has been updated and some of the issues you point out have been resolved apparently. I've just bought the slider and my advise is to make sure you have the correct HDMI cable for your camera, the connection on my Cannon 6D is Mini (Micro being the smallest). You will buy the pan and tilt rig eventually so just get is in a bundle if possible, I didn't have the cash to do this, but I do now :) This is my second motorized slider and it is well worth the money. My other slider is too long and heavy to travel with but the Zeapon will be just fine.

Great video. Was there any update about the motorised ball head? I’m curious about the other rotating /tilting functionalities

Super Review Todd + you gave a tutorial on the app.....which is a bonus to us all.....brilliant....does anyone know of a brand which may produce attachable feet to the ends of this? Or a low feet rail option to go underneath that attached to the underside mount of the zeapon.....be nice to know if one can get a low-to-ground attachment possibility......super review Todd.....really appreciate it and your style is relaxed and slick.

Thanks for creating this video. How loud is the motor in db? I am looking for a good motorised slider. I am looking for all 3 features in one slider. It should be as quiet as possible, can carry at least 5kg weight and I can use vertically. Any suggestions please?

Looks like the motor can be detached... can you confirm it? Add one more question - were your footage presented in this video additionally stabilized in post or we can see here actual smoothness of the slider?

A beautiful and invested video. What about electric circular motion? Is there? Like the VM GP-80QD has.
@dominey4 жыл бұрын
Zeapon doesn't provide a way to do a parallax shot like the GVM slider. If they came out with a ball head though that synced with the Zeapon mobile app, you could do a shot like that, but not currently.

Could I use another motorized ballhead? What would be the cheap option that I can program besides the Micro 2
@dominey3 жыл бұрын
You can attach any ball head you want. So...you could attach some kind of remote controlled ball head and control it perhaps with a different mobile app. Haven't tried this, only used a regular ball head.

Questionable build quality. Rail band on mine was broken straight out of the box.
@ChrisMannphoto4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that - though maybe it's a quality control issue rather than build quality - mine has been fine, and the Zeapon seems generally better built than many inexpensive sliders. Did you get a replacement belt? It's so frustrating when gear arrives broken...
@seancasavant56094 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisMannphoto Perhaps. It was frustrating for me since I was not able to return it via Amazon because I didn't actually open the unit until after the 30 days it was shipped to me. Thats my bad I guess. As a follow up I will say that I did some "surgery" on the rail band using a small steel wire and super glue and it seems to be holding up for now. The device has allowed me to get some great footage already but I do find the app a bit clunky. Based on reviews in the app store, I'm not the only one. For anyone reading this, please know that I'm not some serial basher who takes glee in slagging products online.. I'm sure the Micro 2 has worked flawlessly for some if not most people but this was not my experience.
@ChrisMannphoto4 жыл бұрын
@@seancasavant5609 Fair enough. :) It would have been more easily sorted if you had been able to send it back to Amazon, for sure... glad you worked out a fix though! I hear you regarding the Zeapon app - I found it reasonably workable once you figure out the slightly cryptic labelling. It's not perfect but it's a lot better than some! The app that comes with Neewer sliders is horrific! :-) :-)
