I'm a 15-year high school History teacher with two Masters Degrees in the subject. Don't mean shit; YOU are the one with the expertise, and YOU are the one making a dead subject both alive and accessible. I love your vids, I love your spirit and I appreciate everything you do. YOU are the ACTUAL Historian.

One thing interesting is it’s only 10 miles from NYC, but I can tell a slight accent difference from Newark cats than NYC. Always fascinated me since it’s basically a suburb of NYC
@Narcissist-d6g20 күн бұрын
Suburb?😂😂
@JimBrownski20 күн бұрын
@ yeah it’s the outskirts of NYC. Compared to it, it’s a little ass town lol. Just like Arlington Va is a suburb of DC- with 250k population. Don’t try to elevate Newark or Jersey City- they are the burbs

During our vacation, Newark was the perfect quiet (and cheap) home base for me and my family to chill in between visits to Manhattan, which is only a 15-20 mins train ride away (our hotel was connected by walkway to the station). The old architecture at the station, the public fountain, and the downtown park featuring the statue of Columbus commemorating the, then, new Italian American community of Newark in the 1920s was very moving to see. I'd gladly revisit Newark.

We are not "Lazy" ... we are just UNMOTIVATED. Who the hell is motivated to work 40-50+ hours a week to pay 45-60% of your income on rent alone? That doesn't even include your food or your utilities. You out here busting your ass for someone else who sits in an office and goes to meetings to literally just TALK, READ and WRITE some shit on a piece of paper/computer and they think they deserve 300 times your income. Nah, truth is... without the working people you wouldn't be earning shit.

@@grant3583 I do agree that capitalism is inherently predatory but I think the term reactionary is a stretch here. He does convey how it is an exploitative system with setting alone by presenting conditions people are put into and how it is unfair given race is a major determinant of that(by-proxy how that is demotivating) It is good to have more moderate left leaning ideas because leftist methodology is very off putting to the majority of individuals, and less radical people appeal closer to that group but still establish a more equitable argument then what they may have previously been exposed to(and because converse is healthy and helps develop ideas further) Not everyone who doesn’t have a 1-1 consensus as the proper way to communicate something they think is a reactionary. Also hes just a highschooler im pretty sure

Newark is run down but the people are extremely kind because being aggressive is really bad for business. Go to any corner and ask for w.e. drug and someone will direct you like you were at a car dealership. If you live in Jersey you have Newark in the north for drugs and Camden in the south for drugs. I can walk down any street after midnight and feel safe. People are just trying to get by they don't want problems

I guess it's all a product of the 1970s race riots . I'm glad this video is reminding me nit to get used to this shit.
