The Boppy infant lounger is a MUST have for me. I have a four week old and she uses it every day. It’s perfect to sit her in anywhere especially after she eats so she’s not laying flat

so helpful!!! I’m a first time mom & due in early July. i won’t be having a baby shower bc of this virus, so I’m creating my online registries right now & I’m adding a few of these items! thank you!
@itscool7705 жыл бұрын
I also want to add for those items you can’t afford but really want you should check your neighborhood for “buy nothing” it’s basically a program where people around you no longer need some of their used items and they want to give it away to someone who lives close by. My friend got a really nice stroller that she otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford and it was like brand new. Also depending on where you live check out baby consignment stores. I live in Portland and I’m able to get big ticket items for a third of the price here. I bought a bumbo seat for $15, a boppy pillow for $10 and a becco carrier for $20. All of these things were like brand new. I know not every city has this but you would be surprised by a quick google search what you might find:)

I’ve never heard NOT to pump, especially right away! I’ve always been bigger chested so no surprise when I was told to constantly pump during the newborn stage to keep my supply up, naturally I become engorged. BIG TIME. Pumps are super important just in case tho. You never know when your baby will need an emergency bottle & I’m glad I used it anyway to build up a stash which I also, never used lol. Also SO THANKFUL insurance covered it. I never figured out how to get one through insurance ahead of time until I was actually in the hospital once my baby was born. They just asked me straight away before being discharged if I had one then brought it to my room👍
@LaurenSelf5 жыл бұрын
Britney Baggs I’ve mostly seen people say not to pump until about 4-6 weeks postpartum as your supply still isn’t regulated and you can end up with an over supply, which isn’t always a good thing. But I do believe that is a guideline and not a rule. Moms who go back to work soon after baby is born for example may have to pump to build a stash to feed baby when they’re at work. I pumped after Brody was born (24 hours old) and had a great supply and no issues!

I have heard that pumping very early on could increase your risk for mastitis infection. I still pumped.

I liked the boppy for some of the other functions (helping baby sit up or lounge) but found I could never get it to work for me for nursing. I have a large chest and and pretty short. I used a soft throw pillow that wasn’t overstuffed and it worked perfectly for me! Just my two cents for anyone else that might have the same body type as me.

Nicole Kolafa that’s interesting to know! Hopefully it helps someone. I’m tall with a small chest so maybe that’s why it worked for me!

As far as pumps- my dr told the supplier that works with my insurance that I needed a pump. The supplier texted me and gave me the link to look at my options. I told them the spectra s2 and it was on my doorstep 3 days later. I'm not due till January. I know it may not always be like that but maybe ask your dr about the best way to order a pump. They may be able to submit the request for you.

Also good basic tip/rule when baby wearing is always have them positioned high enough where you can kiss the top of their head! ....& face should always be uncovered (obviously hehe) but even if you cover their head for extra support or warmth while they’re sleeping in the wrap, make sure you can see their nose👌💛

Willow now has size 21 flanges! They're new. Enough people must have said something where they decided to add them. They still dont work with Aeroflow though.
@awebb05175 жыл бұрын
I got my Spectra through Aeroflow and was the easiest process ever 🙌🏼 also with those Dr. Brown’s bottles keep the “travel discs” that come with them. I didn’t know what they were and threw them away 🥴🤦🏻♀️ without them, the bottles leak if they accidentally get turned upside down 😭
@ashleynicole25465 жыл бұрын
Alina Webb I also got the Spectra through Aeroflow! I have heard great things and it was super easy to get. The whole process took like 1-2 weeks.

This is super helpful! I am 33 weeks now and this is my first. My baby shower is this weekend so I’ll need to know what to still buy after. Also, I really want to try pumping like once a day to make maybe a bottle for my husband to help feed the baby once a night. Is that not allowed? Also great to know about the Spectra and Avent bottles since I got that pump through Aeroflow and have those bottles on my registry.

I'm planning on pumping as soon as my milk comes in! Your milk is based on supply and demand- the more you pump and the baby eats the more you'll have. Maybe ask the doctor about trying to pump the first few days when you're producing colostrum?
@ohsobo5 жыл бұрын
Breana Martin is it weird I’m a FTM and producing colostrum at week 20? I’m week 23 now lol
@breanamartin76635 жыл бұрын
@@ohsobo definitely less common for a FTM, but your body starts producing colostrum at 14 weeks! Just your body getting ready for baby. :) Invest in nipple pads when you start leaking enough to saturate your bra.

Love this video. Thanks for sharing! Question: have you/will you move Brody to “big boy/toddler” bed before Darcy arrives? I have a 3 yr old daughter still in crib and an due with #2 in April. Debating when to move my daughter to bed and would love to hear your plan/thoughts. Thanks :)

He’s already in one! We had no plans of transitioning him in the future until he climbed out on his own. Which was right after he turned 2...so I don’t really have too much advice on that! But I am thankful we have the transition done and out of the way before she gets here :)

I was lucky enough to get a Medela breast pump through my insurance sadly I didn’t produce enough milk I’m going through a depression due to having to formula feed my daughter over breast feeding future breastfeeding mommas my advice to you is eat 3 meals a day stay hydrated and don’t stress so you won’t lose the milk ☹️

The swaddle me pods are not hip healthy. Look into the national hip dysphasia website for a list of approved swaddles!
@LaurenSelf5 жыл бұрын
They actually are. The baby can still bend their legs in the swaddle if they choose to, I used these with Brody and he’s perfectly healthy and never had any issues with his hips :)
@samanthawhalen1015 жыл бұрын
Summer infant swaddle products are not recognized by the national institute for hip Dysplasia. Meaning they are not “hip healthy”. Not every baby who uses this product would get hip Dysplasia just like not every baby exposed to alcohol is born with fetal alcohol syndrome. No hate, I love you’re videos just putting the factual information out there! Every mom has a right to use whichever products they use!

I’ve heard great things about aeroflow! When I spoke with my insurance, they recommended going to either that site or yummy mummy. Yummy Mummy is the one I ended up going to, and idk if it was just my insurance or what but I got my pump almost 3 full months before my due date! They shipped it within a week of me giving them all my info 🥰
