I’m due in 4 days with my first and my mom and sisters told me most of things I bought are completely unnecessary. Of all the things on your list I only have the tommee tippee bottles. I thought I was being extra but girl the stuff on your list is crazy expensive. I have an $80 pack and play, a $260 stroller/car seat set that I got on sale for $60, a $120 swing, $6 pack of 5 super soft thick burp cloths from Burlington, and $7 footie pjs from target.

@@cventura2573 Everyone is different, I don't like having so much clutter, I don't do changing tables or swings, I literally just like having a crib and a baby bouncer. I also nurse so have no need for too many bottles and drying grass and all those things. I keep 2/3 bottles and a microwave sterilizer. I haven't found a need for a bath tub until now ( only to make things easier with handling a newborn and a 2yo) Muslin blankets are a must for me, so is the Nose Frida. Sleepers are great , but I do love me some cute outfits, that is where I go overboard. I like sleepers at home and cute comfy cotton blend outfits to go out or when we have company. I splurge on baby shoes too but none of those are must haves.

It’s cute to see all the things you consider “necessary items” being a first time mommy and I understand completely, all moms have been there and as first time moms we want to be as careful and follow all the “rules or guidelines” and we want to do everything right and you believe you NEED everything, all the top of the line items, and go overboard. BUT it gets easier and more realistic and minimal with the next baby, by your second baby you realize how unnecessary half these items truly are, regardless you’re such a great mom and being a mom suits you amazingly, Ryleigh is truly blessed!!

Alternative (MUCH cheaper) Pack N Play that I personally think is better than the 4moms one (I have the one I'm recommending, but not the 4moms) is the Baby Trend Resort Elite Nursery Center. It's way cuter, way cheaper, and has a full-size bassinet, the newborn bassinet, changing table, and the play yard part on the bottom. The 4 moms doesn't have the full-sized bassinet level. And it's horrible looking and like $300 and one person that reviewed it on KZbin said her baby fell through it b/c the bassinet didn't stay on right even though she set it up correctly. The one I'm talking about is $160, so about half the price. Mine was actually $130, but I think the price on Amazon changed right after I got it. My baby isn't here yet, but I'm 100% sure that I like this one better than I'd like that 4moms thing, plus, I can't afford all this insanely expensive crap.

Yeaaaaah an obvious 1st time mom!! Cute and all, some are necessities like the gripe water for example but some things definitely aren’t. I mean if you have the bank account for these items by all means go ahead LOL but first time mommies that don’t; these specific items are not necessary and there’s much cheaper options of the same type of things she’s shown. All babies are different, I’m going on my 3rd and one of the most indispensable items are the baby night gowns. The zippers and snaps can (and do) startle babies at night and most kids really don’t get their diapers down only by kicking so much (otherwise if they do should look into changing diaper brands/type!). Receiving blankets can work as burp clothes and sometimes burp clothes are just too small and fall all the time/ have some king of design coating that doesn’t soak anything making them useless etc. and they’re generally more expensive than receiving blankets (not to mention RB are multi functional at that in several ways). Also cheap reuseable cloth diapers work as burp clothes with a fraction of the price, if you do like burp clothes. Also many babies don’t take pacifiers. Target’s registry bags come with (*FREE*) MAM pacifiers as well as many free online baby boxes (where you pay the shipping) comes with different bottles and pacifiers; that way can cheaply (or for free) learn which brand it is your baby will take. Some refuse many brands of bottles/nipples and pacifiers , IF they take pacifiers. Deff *don’t* stock up on pacifiers, if anything get a couple single at most double newborn of diff brands to find which one he/she will take before you go overboard stocking up on specific brands (again, *if* they take pacis).....but granted all those unused stocked up various ages pacifiers end up working well as friends’ baby showers gift stuffers 🙄 LOL I still have some from baby number 1 waiting to give away.

Jacklin was born 2 days before Ryliegh!! We have only been able to use pamper pure wipes. She breaks out from a lot of the other ones! We like the huggie snuggler diapers but are thinking of going with honest because a lot of the diapers have been irritating her. I have super sensitive skin myself! She hasn't liked her halo even with the new born insert! I really want the dock a tot but I have heard so many mixed reviews! We are currently co-sleeping but before anyone's gives me nasty comments I have done my research. This is the only way she sleeps is beside me! I would love to try the 4moms mamroo but we can't afford that right now with one income and my husband a full time student. Jacklin loves to be moving. Gripe water has kinda helped.. She has hiccups all the time, really gassy etc. We are going to try the probiotic one next. Madison I also had to use a nipple shield and I was able to wean her off if you want to know tips on what I found worked would love to share!! Much easier for sure not having to worry about the shield. I know your struggle!! The haakaa pump has been amazing since I overproduce to catch the milk from the other breast while she nurses on one side because we usually never make it to the other side!! I am using the chicco key kit 30 travel system and I love it! Super easy from car to stroller. I also like the boppy for propping her up or doing tummy time!! Didn't really work for nursing because it doesn't fit well around me!! I need to get the shusher because I play white noise music on my phone and she loves it. The MAM new born passy is the only one she likes. We are using comotomo bottles. I love the diaper caddy we have and I bring that up and down the stairs makes changes easier. Woah that is a long comment!!🤣🤣😘😘

I had my son on October 18th and have the halo bassinest also. I was so excited for it and my mom got it for us and my little boy actually has gas troubles.. We haven't really used the bassinest because of that the longest he has spent in it is about an hour.. And that was with me putting my hand on him every time he started squirming.. The pediatrician recommended putting the mattress at an angle to help but I still haven't been able to get him to be in there long before he is crying from gas pains.. So that has been really sad and unfortunate for us since my daughter didn't have gas troubles I assumed my son wouldn't and that has been a huge struggle.. My Moby wrap has been a life saver though especially so I can take care of both of them (my daughter is almost 2) and get things done around the house. Gripe water helps more than the little remedies gas drops for relieving some pain so love that too 👌 other than that I don't have too many essentials.. Still haven't pumped yet even though I have one we are solely nursing right now but excited to use the pump once he starts sleeping away from me more hopefully soon once we find something to help his gas troubles more.. Still looking for a pacifier he will take 😌 although my daughter never took one I'm really hoping he will so it can comfort him through some of the pains instead of nursing all the time. My children tend to overheat so short sleeve onesies have been my go to for him on a daily basis. And of course burp clothes, diapers, and wipes are essential. I've tried different sleep sacks and so far none have helped much so that's my list as far as essentials for me and why at least this time around cause it was definitely way different with my daughter XD like you said every baby is different so you never know 👌

TawneeRei i hope you don't take offence to my comment, i only mean to help and i'm sure you've looked into and tried everything, i just figured in case it's not something you have thought of that i'd mention it, my sister was having trouble with my niece being SUPER gassy and having such bad stomach pains when she was a newborn, she was also solely breast fed and they were thinking she might've even been allergic to my sisters milk due to how bad the pains would get, my sister was trying to eat healthy since she was breastfeeding and of course trying to help with her weight as well so she was eating lots of fruits and veggies, she was constantly craving broccoli so she was having that with most meals not even realizing that can cause gas so she was told to cut that out which didn't work and they couldn't figure out anything else that would typically cause gas that she was eating a lot of, they had her cut out dairy, cut back on bread and/or pastas, a bunch of different things, come to find out it was because of the peaches she was eating, once she stopped eating them you could tell a change in my niece almost instantly, i just figured maybe it might be something to look into that maybe it's something you're eating that could be causing some of the gas, of course every baby is different and they all react differently to different things and maybe he just has much more gas pains then what your first did and that might be normal for him, however it might also be something to consider if you haven't already to try changing up your diet or swapping out different foods to see if that could possibly work. Once again, not trying to offend at all, i'm sure you have been trying everything possible i just know that for my sister it was something we never even considered so i thought i'd pass it along in case it might also help with your little one! Best of luck! ❤️

Unfortunately baby gear is pricey 😩but these products are amazing. I used Graco with my dogs when they were puppies and omg I hated them! They were so hard to collapse. The 4moms is a breeze and I can do it with one hand! The stroller and car seat are everything! It gets old real quick to take a baby out of a car seat and into a stroller especially when they are sleeping. This car seat just clips in and out within seconds and the stroller converts into a double stroller if you have two kids. It’s definitely worth the money💕

@@LolaPahola Yeah but she also titled her video: "NEWBORN MUST HAVES! | WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED!" Mom's need affordable items. The appropriate title for this video should have been "My Personal Newborn Must Haves!" What you actually need that's more of click bait considering the amount of expensive priced items there are. I don't NEED a $900 stroller system XD I have nothing against her. I like watching baby videos but it's annoying when you're looking for must-have videos and they're majority luxury items...which..lets be real..are not must haves. A slick connect stroller system is a must have but not the $900. You should understand that a lot of the time people are recommending expensive items because they post affiliate links for them as well which they get a commission if someone buys it off of them. It makes it hard for me to believe videos like this when there's a HUGE list of items and almost all of them are overly priced. Not saying it's wrong, just misleading titles are misleading and time-wasting

Clover Clo how can you tell if it's and affiliate link? I can see the links but how can you tell she gets money for listing them? Usually, they make a disclaimer or post a little tiny message in the section saying the links are affiliates (I believe she is obligated legally to do so). But I don't see that. This is a serious question, lol.
@jacquelinehadid8043
@jacquelinehadid8043 4 жыл бұрын
@@dominiqueveronica she's using short links but if you click on it you can see it's an affiliate link because it has "madison miller" in the full URL. Unfortunately majority of influencers don't tell you they're getting paid to promote stuff, and sometimes they even straight up lie and say "not an ad" All of the expensive items she's mentioned, you can get a cheaper brand that does the same function. You definitely don't need to spend so much when you can get the same thing significantly cheaper. She's just trying to make money and doesn't mind splurging on everything, when the every day mum can't afford to waste this much.

Hey Madison....GREAT VIDEO!! I really think EVERY Mom to be needs to watch this video! You covered everything, from soup to nuts.... I cringe now when I watch videos of pregnant women that are spending tons of money on clothes for a newborn....especially when they know they are having a girl. I, like you, quickly came to realize that for pretty much 6 mths of their life, a baby LIVES in onesies (or sleepers, whichever name you prefer). Al the pink frilly stuff is cute, but SO VERY impractical. As you said, when you're getting next to no sleep at night, all you want to be able to do is change them, feed them, burp them and then get back to sleep.....not only in during the night but also during the day. Practicality sinks in real quick! LOVED your video! 💕💕💕💕

This first time mom complaining about not wanting to go to the nursery to a designated changing area. Girl. You will quickly learn to use the couch or bed or coffee table or counter top. When you need to change a diaper, it doesn't matter where. I found it's easier to use a small mobile caddy.... I bought mine from the craft area at Walmart. Threw some diapers, wipes, an extra outfit n any small things I would need through the day. Sooooo much easier n just convenient! Just a tip 😬

I have to agree with the Dockatot, obviously monitor baby in it, but man does my son sleep great in that! I really wish we had that swivel bassinet too because I think that is a great idea for night time. You’re right though, every baby is different and some of these things are sooo expensive (especially since they are only used a few months). I did buy the larger size Dockatot because it’s that good. I also find that if you have Mom friends, sharing the bigger more expensive things is a great way to try stuff out and save! And the Mommy’s Bliss Gripe water was so good when my son was a newborn. He’s teething now and I find the Punkin Butt teething oil is amazing and it’s all natural too.

I actually have a 3 story house and i dont mind taking my baby upstairs to change her. If not, i have a box with wipes and diapers that i keep in the mid level. 👍🏾 its all about lifestyle really and patience level. I have A-LOT of patience, so many of these things are not totally necessary. I get by with minimalism for my baby because they use things so littlr before they grow out of them.

Hi Maddy. ♡ My 3 month old baby girl have sensitive skin too.. so I HIGHLY recommend The Honest company baby diapers and wipes. First they are very cute 😂 and second they are organic, so they work for sensitive skin. Oh, and from the same brand, you should try the diaper rash cream. And just in case you want to try anything else.. Burst Bee's Shampoo and body lotion its 99.9% natural and it works SO AMAZING. Probably the best baby bath products EVER. It help with eczema & dry skin too! And Infants Mylicon gas relief. Thanks me later. Lol This are my must haves 😂 Hope you can try them ♡ Take care and congrats 😘

In case baby poop stains are still an issue, if baby is exclusively breastfed you can sun the clothes and the stains will come right out! Just put them outside in direct sunlight for the day stain side up (and inside out so the sun is hitting the stain directly) and you’ll be amazed, the stains will totally disappear
