I had same experience. And I did it with almost no pain meds and it was absolute hell. I also had trapped gas which was insanely painful. Because I was in such pain, I couldnt focus on bonding with my son. Thank God his daddy was there to help so much. I've bonded with him completely now but I hated my c section experience

When I had my first baby, I kept him with me in the room the entire time....didn't sleep hardly at all. With my next 2, I did take advantage of the fact that the nurse can take the baby to the nursery for a couple of hours while you get some sleep in between feedings. My doctor fully recommends this, because mommas need to take care of themselves too during this post partum time, and there shouldn't be the guilt and shame associated with the decision to let the nurses keep the baby for a little bit while you get some much needed rest.

Oh my gosh can I just say I wish I had known that they had a nursery. No one told me until the very end of my stay ( I was there for a while ) and I needed sleep SO bad bc my baby would not sleep long periods at all. I literally got 1 hour of sleep per day for 3 days in a row and was having sleep deprivation. It was hell. If I had known about the nursery I would have totally taken advantage of it and been able to take care of myself!

@@BruizerGQ Good for you. You have that right, but I've lived and learned to get rest when I could and this is what worked for me. FYI, just because you feel you would do something differently as a mother, does NOT mean you get to put yourself on a pedestal or shame other mothers who don't do what you do. So, in the future, when speaking to another mother....share your opinion in a respectful manner. There's no 'one way' to be a mother, and there will be some mothers out there that think YOU are in the wrong, and hopefully they will be respectful to you as well.

It's a wonderful thing, especially for mothers who've gone through a traumatic or hard delivery to be able to sleep in between feedings and know their baby is being cared for....not just placed in a bassinet and left in the corner to cry. The nurses who work in the nursery are wonderful, and love their job because they get to hold new babies and take care of them as their job. They're also medical professionals, so if anything looks off, they will notice right away.

I had my first at 3 in the morning after laboring for 17 hours straight. It was a crazy birth as well. We bonded and i stayed with baby til about 3 the next morning. I asked the nurse nicely if it was possible for him to go to nursery while i slept (husband was home getting some things i forgot, yes at 3 in the morning cause he is the sweetest). The nurse looked at me like i was the devil, and was so rude and snarky and said “this isnt a daycare”. Me and baby stayed up for the rest of the night crying trying to get him to latch til hubby came back and gave me a break. Which was just him i the room with baby crying because we weren’t aloud to leave the room. So many people told me to allow nurses to care for baby after long labor but that was never my choice 😢

I'm currently 36 + 2, really looking forward to seeing what date my little man decides to have as his birthday! I'm not really scared of the labor pains, I have a high pain tolerance and I think I'll manage, but I am a bit worried about the bleeding after delivery, considering that I usually bleed a lot if I start bleeding anywhere. But that's something only time can tell! Also, I'm so looking forward to getting rid of that PUPPP and ICP that's been bothering me for a while now. I'm feeling so itchy all over my body every night that I can barely sleep, it's slowly driving me mad!

I'm in the uk and it seems so lonely being your own room (but peaceful) We don't have midwifes checking our blood or anything. If you need them you can buzz them. Our hospital food tends to be comfort food like shepherd's pie and veg with crumble and custard or something for pudding. I'm having my 3rd in jan/Feb 2022

What to expect : tiredness beyond comprehension, euphoria, constant anxiety (is baby breathing OK) very sore bottom end, (dare I poop?) and yikes! My nipples hurt so much it makes my toes curl when baby attaches to feed, but remember this is a Mother's love and it's OK to cry when you need to 🙏

Ngl she probably showered right after giving birth. I sure as hell did, I was gross and sweaty and covered in all sorts of fluids. Of course if she had an epidural she waited, but if not she could get up basically instantly.

Why does the uterus hurt when nursing? edit* ok i googled it because curiosity got to me. I didn't know this: For a few days after delivery, many women have cramping pain in the abdomen at the start of each feeding. This is because breastfeeding stimulates the release of hormones that help shrink the uterus back to its normal size.

I had my baby boy in the end of May in Baptist South, Jacksonville FL everything looks the same like I had- food, baby crib, swaddle etc. The only difference is I had c-section and my milk didn’t come immediately, so they gave me Similac ready to feed formula. He got used to it and bottles and never wanted to eat from my breast. Later friend told me on north they feed c-section babies with syringes so this is a big minus for Baptist. Being first time mom I didn’t know I shouldn’t give him bottle.
