I’ve only came across your channel a few days ago and I have to say Eddy you’re doing a great job!! I’m from Teesside and obviously have been to newscast a few times but you’ve opened up a whole new side of it to me. Is it weird how you can walk past all these places and not give a second thought to the history. You’ve inspired me and my gf to come back to Newcastle soon with a new appreciation for the place. Great work with the channel Eddy, keep it up

The culvert aka Cully... has an entrance right where you were standing that you can still access although it's been made a little more difficult. Theres a river directly beneath you and you can go inside the cults entrance and walk as far as Jesmond Dene. Used to do it quite often in the 90s and took my teen daughter through only 2 year ago. But its wet and full of holes and wouldn't recommend it to anyone without past experience as it's a little dangerous. Great video per usual.

Great video. Stumbled on your channel recently. Love the ouseburn, lived just along the river at St Peters basin and the Tyne pub was my local. There is actually a third tunnel that runs through the Ouseburn valley, the old LNER quayside branch. Started by stoddard st on the mainline and curved down by Tarset st under city road and came out below Tyne St. they infilled the ends of it in the 90’s when the quayside redevelopment was going on.

It must not have closed in 1960, or I may have been wrong and you mentioned shut in the 1960’s. Good stuff Eddie, wrong to suggest the Luftwaffe only dropped ordnance on the Toon so they didn't go home with bombs on board. The city was targeted in mid 1940 - 41. Where the Northumbria campus now stands was a huge rail yard that iirc was hit in Sept 41, a train had arrived loaded with sugar and other flammable materiel fritz dropped his load and the goods station burned for 4 days. Source. My old lady was a 10 year old resident of Shieldfield at the time

You should Hav mentioned the rave that happened in the cully a few years back and how well organised the kids were that put this event on. I understand the dangers and I’m not wanting to promote this type of activity but a mention about it wouldn’t been too naughty? 😊

Hi Jamie, as I can’t get to away games, doing reaction videos for them wasn’t working for me personally, as I prefer being videoing out ‘in the field’ so to speak and engaging with people. Also, as I’m not a football gossip and rumour channel, I avoid the constant speculation videos. I’ll continue to do match Vlog videos and I’m looking forward to quizzing Everton fans and I’ll do other wider perspective videos on NUFC. For example I’ll be doing a video on Wednesday about our new signings and what life looks like for NUFC. Exciting times!

Another bit of gruesome history about the pub over the road from the Cluny (can’t remember the name off the top of my head) But its directly underneath the bridge and the roof has been repaired several times…… You can draw your own conclusions as to what came though the roof.

Eddie did u see the black silhouette of the coal train that marks the spot where a bloke died trying to sell the tunnel ? What a awful way to die crushed by a train

Yeah seen it mate and it’s one of the stories on the tunnel tour. Fascinating stuff! I obviously didn’t want to steal the thunder of the Ouseburn Trust tours so just kept to the main points.
