We went to fight them there so we wouldn't have to fight them here. Now the boats are filled with predominantly men of fighting age coming from Iraq, Afghanistan & Iran are being welcomed with open arms. When some of these entirely unvetted people inevitably commit their acts of terror, nobody in government will take responsibility for that. Are we even allowed to ask when England will become a majority Muslim country on current trends? If we are allowed to ask, they most certainly won't tell us. As for Iraq, we had no business there. Afghanistan, we did all we went there to do in 6 weeks and we could have left. Then would have been very few if any that could claim working with us put them at risk. Their contracts did not give them UK residency. We owe them nothing.

Agreed, I retired from the forces after 23 years last year. Spent two tours in Afghanistan. It was very depressing to see how quickly it flipped back to the Taliban in literally a matter of days. I came to the conclusion that they just didnt want OUR way of life imposed on them, but also its apparent they DO want our way of life when it's ready made for them here in the west. People like politician Tom Tugendhat will tell us in the media "we owe them a debt" ... we do not, at least the ordinary tax payer doesn't, perhaps the debt ought to be paid by the elites that went there. Anyway we do not owe a debt, much of the time we spent worrying about attacks from these people and especially towards the last years there we trained to expect the possibility of being attacked by the afghans we employed.
@williamvorkosigan51512 жыл бұрын
@@jumblestiltskin1365 I also served 23 years. I did the beat up for Afghanistan but in the end remained on rear party. 20 years. That is most of a military career, if they didn't have a decent army after all that training and all that money thrown at them, they did not want to fight the Taliban, because they are the Taliban. All those people of fighting age that got to the UK should have immediately been conscripted and sent right back to fight the Taliban. After all, they love our values right? We owe the people of Afghanistan nothing. We honoured our contracts. Our contracts never said a thing about a free ticket to a life in the UK. We don't want them. We owe them nothing.

The whole 'deprived backgrounds' thing's a myth, propagated by leftists, who think economic 'welfare' is the answer to everything. Many jihadis are actually university 'educated' and from fairly 'privileged' backgrounds...

@@albert7311 That is a wholly different debate. I agree with you that there needs to be robust border control and that we cannot allow our small island nation to be swamped by people we do not know and do not need. They should be identified and asked to leave and so come back when they have authorization...

There's a considerable difference between how Islam AS WRITTEN treats apostates and how other religions deal with those who choose to leave or even challenge certain articles of the 'faith'... The Catholic church may excommunicate a person for such perceived acts, but Islam calls for the execution of apostates. (Hardly a 'religion of peace'?) While most Abrahamic religions have, through necessity, adapted certain tenets and practices over thousands of years, Islam AS WRITTEN and indeed is practiced has not. Islam, even in Western countries, still imposes moral and cultural codes that haven't changed since the 7th century. Moreover, Islam still firmly anchors itself in The Middle East and in code and practice makes no allowance whatever in adapting to or accepting cultures and practices of different countries. In effect, unlike ANY OTHER Abrahamic religion, Islam seeks to perfectly replicate a 7th Century, Middle Eastern 'feudal' culture regardless of the country in which it is based. Unlike many Judeo/Christian religions, Islam will ONLY provide help, charity and succor to adherents of its own faith. Also, unlike most other religions or sub-sets or religious factions, Islam ACTIVELY promotes the absolute annihilation of ANYONE who isn't of their faith, or sect of their faith. (Christians have historically acted in this way too, of course, but not for hundreds of years... The Northern Irish Troubles were not and are not based upon differences or conflict between religiously-differing sects of Christianity. It's a Nationalist/Unionist struggle. ) Perhaps the most telling element in this informing interview is when Wasiq Wasiq describes the CELEBRATION among fellow Muslim students as the 9/11 attack was reported. (This NOT in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran or Iraq but at A LEADING LONDON UNIVERSITY!) Also pertinent is that Wasiq, himself a 'devout Muslim' though obviously a progressive thinker, (and respect to him on both points) explains that he himself must be most careful of his personal safety for fear of attacks by other members of his faith. Therein lies the real issue. A 'moderate Muslim', though of that faith, is ACTUALLY in fear of his life from his more dogmatic fellow-religionists. Islam allows no such thought or discussion. Moderation, progress, progressive thinking, adaptation and acceptance is simply NOT PERMITTED within Islam. (A 'thinker' like Wasiq Wasiq expresses his opinions and ideas as part of a tiny minority within his faith. And does so at his peril.) Islam is not a religion of peace, tolerance or acceptance of others as it currently manifests. Moreover, that attitude is POLICY. EVERYONE must eventually, in time, convert/accept or be executed. (Again, POLICY...) In closing, I might pose the question? If Pakistan/Iran/Afghanistan/Saudi Arabia/Quatar/India/Syria/Turkey/Kuwait and the UAE and other Muslim states are so perfect, WHY do so many of those adherents choose to live in the West? (Answers on a crisp fiver to the usual address...) xx SF

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exists wherever the followers of the prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith; all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and we’re it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall”. Winston Churchill. If Britain allows sharia law any foothold, then they have won. The left do not have ANY idea what they want to allow, they will be just as big a target as any other Britain. I urge everyone who wants to fight against this insidious and evil religion to read the reliance of the traveller, the translated book on sharia law, it is monstrously disturbing to read.

This comment was actually about last week's Newspeak but it is linked. When you spoke of people as having a lack of concern and/or lack of understanding or that their reactions have been dulled, I cannot help thinking of the people who lived behind the Iron Curtain. After the wall came down, they spoke of a blankness of facial expression that was necessary to survive the surveillance of all their neighbours and even sometimes their children. I wonder if this might be part of what is happening. I do not believe that their internal life was anywhere near as blank as their faces - perhaps that is true in the UK? (Shell McC)

An issue I'd like to raise is the everyday acceptance and usage of the term 'non-Muslim' in contrast to inclusive expressions for pinpointing other groups of people with and or without recognised religious beliefs. It seems to be in common usage by politicians academics and media folk alike. I remember anti-apartheid campaigners highlighting the negative implications of using the prefix "non-" as if colour alone where the sole marker of being or not being a fellow human and equal citizen I wonder what reaction would be if Muslims found themselves not being generally identified as such but simply as a "non-Christian" (or non-whatever).

The really, morally revolting actions of a certain number is not necessarily universal across this religions world. However, the community needs to take action against them including, but not limited to, reporting them to the Police. By not doing so, they are judged complicit in their actions
