Great interview, although I disagree about the idea that all the bad things come from good intentions. Most of the people who get caught up in them might have good intentions, but I'm sure that many of those who initiate them do not.

Fascinating subject. I'm not a follower of Gad but respect his take on things and relate to a lot of what he said. I'm from the left and find myself challenging the identity politics and other crazy narratives that have infected my side. I am not alone in pointing out the stupidity and hypocrisy of many of the positions that I am expected to go along with as someone on the left. I could write a book. One example today is the idea that an ISIS bride who was groomed as a 16 year old is the same as a victim of grooming gangs and the reason the victims of grooming gangs get more favourable treatment by the authories and media ( who in truth turned an blind eye to the abuse for PC reasons) is because they are white. This is the logic. So...thousands of girls who were groomed trafficked raped gang raped and even tortured are same as a teenage hatemonger who joins ISIS to kill? In the eyes of the left the ISIS bride is the victim while the girls groomed have white priviledge. This is the logic we are dealing with here. The same people who say the ISIS bride was too young to know what she was thinking are for children of 16 voting in elections and they are also all follow whatever Greta Thunberg comes out with. These people have good intent they want to be seen as virtuous in the liberal agenda circles but their minds have been poisoned and where the left was once about fair play and fair play for the working man it's now about identity politics race baiting all about seeing some groups as victims due to their skin colour religion or sexual orienation or gender. This is what it's about. I am sick to the core with it but I do see a chink of light - all it takes is more people in my circles to challenge the narrative and point out the idiocy.

Thank goodness for the New Culture Forum, I love this show. It is like a voice of sanity in the echoing halls of a raging loony bin. I have a friend from college who got totally paracited. She used to bee a fun girl. I tried to renew contact with her recently and she was very enthusiastic, but it is impossible to even have a normal conversation with her, it's like she is not even there anymore, all that comes out is repeated woke dogma. It's actually quite terrifying. I stopped answering her emails altogether. The problem with these zombies is that even if you tried to tell them how brainwashed they are, they would just perceive the situation as you being the one with the problem. Because it must be some lack of education or due to some bias that you must have that you don't "get it" or something. There is no escape hatch in their prison-mind. Also if you tried to explain to them why they might be wrong about one thing or another, the task would be endless, because each erroneous view has its foundation upon another erroneous view. So you'd have to go all the way back to the beginning, which is not feasible. All you can do is walk away.

I've got a friend like that. When you can finally show her that her position has no foundation in her own logic, she starts babbling incoherently with sentences that are disconnected and could be found on posters at a rally. The mechanisms they've built up through the years to defend their irrational ideas are truly astounding but I find that interesting if scary. She knows everything already with absolute certainty and anything that contradicts what she already knows she calls propaganda or HisStory and she literally doesn't listen. She told me that - she has never listened to anything she calls propaganda since she was in high school. We're in our 70s so this has been going on for almost 60 years already. That was what most educated boomers were like when I was in college in the 1960s. I knew things were going to go to hell when our parents lost power. It was apparent that long ago. It's too bad our parents didn't do anything to stop it but they were besotted with their perfect little angels and tried to copy us instead. The parents were the original spiders and the children were the wasps and they've spawned monsters.

'Cancel culture' seems to me to be oxymoronic, a misuse of conceptual meaning. It is a phrase employed to illustrate our declining sensibilities and annihilative impulses, but also ( ironically) exemplifies them. 'Culture' is the concept of of incremental cultivation to achieve qualitative growth in human society, not destruction of those means or ends. Unless, of course, you see planned destruction for its own sake as a form of creativity, in which case you aren't going to get very far before you stand in a heap of formless rubble. We are soon going to find out who was in the right, if you'll pardon the pun. But there are going to be a lot of piles of rubble..

Never forget that women think differently to men... FACT. Women are more agreeable and men less so and question things more. FACT. Women will gossip more and men will be more practical in general. FACT. I could go on. When it comes to war 99% of the fight is by MEN to protect our homelands and our women. Very apt that this man should inform us of the way that we are being manipulated - 'nudged' - by the malcontent people who are 'advising' our government. Their every word on how we should handle a middling viral outbreak, is taken as indubitable truth even though they are behavioural psychologists with no expert knowledge in virology or epidemiology. Who selected the members of SAGE? Why is our leadership restricting attention to the one narrow viewpoint which is so isolated from greater bodies of eminent scientists such as those signatories of The Great Barrington Declaration?
