That is not a deadly snake. Yes they ve poison but the 'danger teeth' are in the back of the mouth. I don't know the english word, in german the snake-family is called "Trugnattern". A few species are deadly to humans (not the mangrove snakes) but is difficult for them to use their teeth by humans. But thats not a guarantee to survive ! 😉

My son had a Tokay gecko when he was little. We were able to socialize it well enough that it became non aggressive enough to the point that even my son at 9 years old was able to get it out on a regular basis and have it hang out with him without it trying to bite. I had no knowledge of reptiles at the time but, basically did what I would do with taming a feral cat. I’m happy that this is becoming more common and that Kevin is teaching proper socialization techniques so, others can have a good relationship with most reptiles. This interaction with his reptiles was what made me realize they aren’t just mindless animals and you can have a more proper relationship with them instead of them being a decor item.

YES! PLEASE!!! Reptile socializing videos would be great!! Okay, honesty up front. When I first started watching You Tube videos on reptile husbandry in anticipation of owning a boa constrictor, I saw NERD and Kevin's videos and just got the vibe that well he is full of himself and never watched a video. Then I saw Kevin being a co-host on Client's Reptiles and gawd, I was so wrong about my original thoughts on Kevin. I was greatly impressed by his love and knowledge of reptiles, that I went back and watched all of his video's on handling and husbandry. Eventually, I did get two baby Boa Constrictors, a common BCI that is about 4 months old and a Sunglow that is 3 months of age. The common BCI, is very docile and I have no issues with her at all, I can pick her up and move her about in my hands. I am trying what Kevin suggested in a couple of videos, nothing is off limits. So I have begun to slowly touching around her neck and under her chin or lightly caressing her side and tail region. But her house sister, the Sunglow Boa Constrictor, is very timid, nervous and defensive. And I have been using a few suggestions from Kevin's videos on getting her used to being handled. She has tried to nip me a couple of times, and one of them she did tag me. But I am not giving up and will continue to work with her so that she will become as docile as her house sister. I am looking forward to Kevin's reptile socializing videos, I know I will learn a lot!! Thank you to NERD for their videos and sorry about my assumption of Kevin.

I started with bugs when I was a child…I lived outdoors mostly lol. I got my first tarantula when I was 13 years old. And I’ve now moved on to various other animals. I got my first rear fanged venomous an Asian vine snake in 2019, and moved to my first pit viper in June 2021, a Western Diamondback. He’s been amazing, and has really opened my eyes to working with various reptiles. Just thought it was cool how you started with invertebrates also!

I love the mangrove snakes!! I'd love to have one, some day. Crowley is stunning, but I love the steely blue grey of the divergens. Kevin, could you please show us details on your monitor enclosures? That's one of the stumbling blocks people face when trying to get into these magnificent animals, and your enclosures clearly rock. It's hard to see the details, though, when you're just showing off the wonderful animals. Thanks!
