I'm not a fan of humans but I'm a huge animal lover. I use your strategies on all my lizards plus my snakes as well, my partner still gets tickled when i am like see i built a thread lol. Thank you all for being good friends for Brian I watch like 4 or 5 different herpers and I love the support y'all have shown. I'm praying so hard for him and Lori and their children and grandchildren. My heart just breaks. We have a one call that is set up with the church and when anyone needs prayers or anything that needs prayers we all are get a call and we are told if someone needs them or lots of times we get up dated messages. Then our one call connects to 23 more churches one even out of the country. Sorry about writing a novel but I want everyone that sees NERD comments they will pray with us. Watching with an 11-year-old rehab male eastern fox squirrel, Willow, in my hoodie pocket :) I love your technique. Of course, as a rehabber, I try to handle the animals as little as possible so they can safely be rereleased, but in the case of those who can never return to the wild, your technique works like a charm.

If I lived farther south, I would definitely have an Asian water monitor. I personally don’t want a monitor that big in my house, but living up north means I can’t keep it outside. Guess I’ll just have to stick with colubrids, boas, and pythons

I LOVE THIS! ❤️ You are by far the best at Socializing animals! I change my color a lot and my Chinese Water Dragon is super cool but of course he puffs up until he realizes I am giving him his food. Chinese Water dragons are amazing because he has never wanted to bite ever. And a bonus is they don't have teeth like iguanas that shred lettuce. I am super proud to have him. Captive breed and he is about 4 years old.

Shop keepers say don’t handle right away, this is exactly why I don’t listen I’ve tamed down reptiles within the first few hrs of owning them but I also know what I’m doing to not over stress them and once I noticed stress I try to just have one last positive moment before removing my self from their enclosure

Line breeding for specific traits like temperament is key. I've been showing and breeding Miniature Pinschers for 20 yrs so I completely get it! A few years ago I used a lot of these socialization techniques with a baby common snapping turtle.She became extremely sweet and is still my favorite snapper.I’ve since used it on many other common,Florida and Alligator Snappers if truly works
