Hi Kurt, just took delivery today of the S5 scooter - delivery just under 1 week - awesome! Been looking at this scooter for a while as it reminded me of my very first scooter the Airbike Ali5 but been putting off buying for one reason or another - no regrets what-so-ever now!! Have to say I was impressed with the packaging - often overlooked by some...and the scooter is very nice too. Hope it brings me the same amount of fun as the Ali5 did and last as long too! Just been out for a little test, I use the Dualtron 2 and Speedway 5, amongst others, most of the time now but this scooter - OMG, WOW... I only weight just over 50 kg and I hit 36km/h (unrestricted). My one and only issue is the brakes - a scooter that can go this fast needs proper dual brakes for sure, you will go over if you hit just the front brake at speed - BE CAREFULL, ride safe yeah!

Hi Kurt, I'm very happy with the scooter. I have used it all summer. The guys with their Xiaomi scooters keep on asking me where I got this one from. They are shocked about the speed and power, lol. Thanks for the upgrades you shipped. The tutorial was really helpful. I love it! Great service.

I like the look of this scooter a lot, especially having dual motors is a real differentiator and excellent for climbing hills. All the improvements you have made on the new version look very sensible. But if you were to make a new model here are some things I would like to see. 1. Larger wheels, 5.5" is a bit small for rough terrain or potholes. 8" wheels are better. 2. Rear suspension for better ride quality over bumpy footpaths. 3. A wider deck. Ergonomically it's better to have both feet side by side. When riding rather than slanted. 4. Cruise control (I'm not sure if you have this) 5. Folding handles (with sturdy locking mechanism) so the scooter can fold up to a smaller footprint for storage and transport.6. A new charging port location so the scooter can be charged while folded up. I say all this not as criticism but just as a suggestions of what I personally would like in a scooter.I think most of these suggestions wouldn't cost too much to implement except perhaps the rear suspension.

Cheers for the video Kurt, you've been a brilliant support with the scooter - from replacing bearing sleeve to the speed controller, its been appreciated :)

I have 2 of them Kurt. Great device, used it in various places even in places with steep hills. /no problem. I will call you for checkup after 1 year although they hardly aged and drive great as day one.

Kurt V! It's great to have you back. I wondered if the S5 was a bum scooter due to your absence. I also had a complaint about it at my blog from someone who bought it from the maker in China. Yes, please do more videos about it. EDIT to add: Did they finally add Cruise Control to it? And any word on a future app?

Hi Mike, nice to see you again. Too busy for video's and as I had enough customers to buy my stock, I didn't take too much care about KZbin. There are different versions of the S5 model. When going to the factory, you go to the assembly line and decide about all the different parts you want to have in your scooter. I wanted to have the BYD (assembled by RYD) battery packs, not the Chinese packs. The hub motors are the best I could find on the market, the rubber full tires are by the American brand name RisingSun, the bearing sleeve has an updated internal tube, the controller has now glue inside to avoid components loosening by vibrations, the cables are now the highest grade cables, the controller has been updated to follow my specs and the scooter has now kick to start. I had a controller version with cruise control, but I decided to take it out. This scooter is way too powerful to use the cruise control. It is way to dangerous with the cruise control. I first wanted the cruise control, but after using it, I understood it is not a good idea for safety reasons. Things that have not been done besides the cruise control are app support and a new dashboard. Both of them required minimum 500 pieces, and I'm not willing to buy so many scooters as it involves a huge investment. I try to push them to get the new dashboard, with total kilometers, but we might have to wait another 8 months to a year. I have compared the scooter performance with other scooter brands, and the dual drive is an absolutely winner. None of the other scooters out there can beat the speed and power. I even did a uphill race with a friend on his electric bicycle, and his chain broke when trying to follow me, LOL I had to go down the hill and tow my friend with his bicycle up the hill and back to his home, about 5 kilometers from where his chain broke down. I didn't have any camera at that time, a real pitty, but my friend was so impressed he bought one too. I'll add more video's shortly. If you need more information, let me know. Kind regards

I had s5 and the handle bar got so loose after about 3 weeks , quality was shit, but the scooter was so fun! Does this new version not wear out so quickly regarding the handle bar getting movement in it
@oz4575 жыл бұрын
This issue had to do with vibrations. The inner screws have been replaced with long screws with the ones we sell. The handle bar does not get lose. I guess you have bought the Chinese version after all.

Nice upgrades, but if this has the S3's wheels, I'm not going to be a customer. I had two wheels failing on me, those need to be reinforced.

Hi gabox01, long time no see. There is a very big difference in the motor quality they assemble on the Chinese scooters and the ones for export. I remember you bought your s3 scooter straight from China, so probably you got a version with low quality parts. Most of the time, when the motor fails, it is due to a phase issue, meaning one of the 3 phased cable going from and to the controller has a connection issue. From all scooters I have sold, I never had any feedback from our customers they encountered any issues with the motors. The hub motors we selected to build our scooters are of the highest quality. I insisted on that, as well as full tire rubber, the tires we use are from RisingSun, an American brand. I don't want the Chinese rubber tires on there. Regarding your failed motors, if the motor starts to spin when giving a kick, but have no power, and they spin slowly, it is a phasing issue, not a motor problem. Hope my experience will give you some help in resolving the issue with your scooter.

Why the hell the controller has to be that large? There could be another set of batteries in the pole instead.
@oz4576 жыл бұрын
This is a 36v controller rated for 500 to 1000 watts. They heat and current that goes through the components is significantly higher than a small 24v scooter. Check the same controllers for electric bicycles, they are even larger.
