Thank you as always for amazing in depth review, Dacob 🙂 For me, No 5 is the scent of winter and Christmas, there just something brilliant about it this time of the year. Clearly you can wear it all year around but winter is truly where the magic is for me. I once left a bottle in the sun and forgot about it until next day and thought I had ruined it but the aldehydes had gone more intense and I just loved it (still do) but as you say, its not something to recommend, unless you can tolerate your No 5 to be that intense 😉

Oh Dacob! What an amazing and prefect purchase. I don’t know why but No.5 has been such a lifeline for me recently it is so comforting to me at the moment and makes me feel complete. Sounds crazy to some people I know but it’s a very important perfume for me now and has always been. However! I have been adding to my no. 5 collection recently and thought I had everything to bring me perfume peace but I now have FOMO for the 200ml chi the journey! Xxx😊

I have one interesting story connected with this beauty) One day I had to do the chores and decided to take my little dog with me) before leaving the house I applied Chanel N5 edp and took my Amour (that’s the dog’s name))) on my arms. At first I decided to go to the pets’ store. As I walked into the store my dog immediately ran up to the shop assistant to say hello))) the guy became very delighted not only because of my dog) he took him on his arms and started sniffing the air around Amour))) the guy was amazed and rolled his eyes) then asked me whether that gorgeous scent was coming from the dog?!))))

Hi Dacob, you express so well my opinion of Chanel. I love their perfumes of which I think so many are masterpieces but Chanel is going cray cray with prices and strategy becoming more and more off putting. I’m basically stocking up on my favorites as I expect I’ll soon be fed up with their prices and direction and stop being a client. So I just got myself the 200ml of the No 5 as my back up 🤦‍♀️, thanks for the tip! However, I don’t need the silly overpriced limited edition blah silk cape so that I’ll pass!

Thank you for such A Wonderful review and unboxing, when I saw the ad for the No 5 on their website I was stunned, I thought it was a frosted snow effect with solid glass, however when I saw it in person I wasn’t impressed, the silk seemed liked it was just wrapped in paper, :/ I rather save the extra money and purchase the original packaging, it’s the same frikin size! Better yet the 200ml is better! I want the perfume! Hmmmm! Thanks for this beautiful review!

The EDP is my absolute favorite version, maybe because I'm an 80s baby 🤔 Love the color of the juice of your 200ml bottle and just the sheer size of that beautiful bottle. I may have to scoop one of these up before another price increase. I also recently got the their holiday set No 5 EDP 1.7/Body Oil 3.4, mainly because I loved the box it came in. I purchased the version with snow for 195 euros, the fragrance seems almost the same but for me it has more of a violet note, vaguely reminiscent of Misia by Chanel. At home I have both a bottle of classic Chanel n 5 and this one with snow, I compared them and in the dry down they are slightly different. Try them in store and let me know. furthermore on fragrantica, the Italian version, it says that it is a new limited edition fragrance, with notes of violet. Kisses from Italy.

Hi Anna 💖 I would personally not believe a single word from that website. Just saying. Now, if we go to the source and actually read what the Chanel website writes about the silk topped holiday 2024 No5 bottle, we see that they describe the formula as the 1986 formula of No5 edp. They mention rose and jasmine predominantly. Here the quote from the Chanel website’s description of the “composition” of No5 edp, as seen on their page where they advertise and sell the limited edition No5 edp 100ml silk topped bottle perfumes: “N°5 Eau de Parfum draws inspiration from the Parfum, which shares the same floral-aldehydic signature. This bouquet, composed around rose and jasmine, features bright citrus top notes. Aldehydes create a unique presence, while the smooth touch of vanilla yields an incredibly sensual trail.” There is no mention of enhanced violet accords. However, each new batch can have slight variations on certain accords. This depends on many factors but Chanel is not advertising this limited edition silk topped bottle as a new formulation or flanker of No5. They are just stating that it is a new bottle and new box design, housing the same edp formula as always. I take “always” with a grain of salt because we know that perfume houses keep reformulating their fragrances for many various reasons but if a reformulation were to be that significantly different that they added a lot of violet to the perfume then I personally think that Chanel would have stated it publicly because it would have given customers an extra reason to buy it because it would be a sort of new take or new spin on No5 edp. On another note, I have been told that the silk topped bottle has been selling terribly this year. People do not seem to like the silk topper and the marked up price. I am personally still on the fence about this as a mere collectible though… How do you like the silk top? Does it look like good quality? Is it made well? Will it last you think? I liked the Christmas idea but I bought it for the different notes that I saw on fragrantica and that I perceive, I repeat, this reminds me a bit of Misia. The notes are the same but I think they accentuated the iris one. As for the decorative veil: I have seen some poorly made bottles on the web, luckily this is not my case. But you're right, the quality isn't the best, as it tends to create small lateral threads that I removed with scissors. The positive thing is that I find it more manageable and less slippery in the grip. I don't know if it will get dirty with the dust, we'll see over time. However, if you have the opportunity, try it in perfumery and let me know if you also find it slightly different. I've been buying Chanel No. 5 since 2014, I've already bought 6 bottles and all of them have a slightly different scent. I also noticed that the color of the 100 ml bottle is darker than the 30 ml one. Or am I wrong? Have a nice day and thanks for the reply. Kiss 😘😘😘

I have the 100ml eau de parfum and also the tiny bottle which as you know was my Xmas present for being such a fabulous customer 🙄 I would have loved to get the 200ml but I found the bottle really heavy and I was bothered I might drop it. Yes, Chanel perfume collectors are suckers for all the items, but it’s getting worse and worse in terms of value. After my Christmas purchase, I decided to stick to their Les Exclusifs line and no 5, 200ml. You still get the most value out of the 200ml bottles. Hi Dacob, Yes I am such a N°5 EDP girl too- swoon ❤❤. I did buy the travel n°5 edp 7ml sprays with chain- just loved it, a sucker also for the chain, plus I will will use them when travelling , as well as my N°5 l'eau pebble ( its hot here atm), so not wasted on me, but I do know the price is bonkers. I wasnt a fan of the 100ml Xmas n°5 - looked tacky ( ha ha, with the metiere d'art box😂). The little travels with chain cost me about 320.00 aud!! The 200ml cost 420.00 aud here ( which is a better deal of course). I do think Chanel perfume is still not too bad price wise compared to some Niche frags, BR40 is hideous and not even close to Chanel perfume, but the price!!! :-/ Anyway, great vid, I will grab the 200ml next as my 100ml is almost empty, thanks for the tip Darl!! Maybe I'm reading into this bottle too deeply, but I can't make a connection between 'winter/snow' and 'silk'. I understand it's meant to look like snow, but they could've done that using a different material, because to me it just looks like a very cold bottle of No 5 trying hard to stay warm by wearing a silk bolero. I have to say as a perfume lover this increase does annoy me 😢I’ve always been so happy the perfumes this size were $150-160 something about $172 annoys me it’s too close to $200 and that’s my breaking limit….its a pretty bottle sure ok…not worth it grr and embossed box 🤷‍♀️ F you Bruno and Lerner 🥓 it’s also odd it looks pretty sure but I don’t know if silk on a perfume bottle is smart. Yes these limited edition releases do seem kinda like a cash grab. The $20,000 extrait says only 15 will be made and numbered, so I guess only 15 people can buy them (if that, lol). They better include some pretty sweet freebies for these special editions anyway - and I don't mean pretty boxes and paper bags. You missed my point. Let me brake it down for ya buddy. 260 Euro with the current exchange rate today equals almost 284 US dollars. Not every State in the US charges a tax though and some states charge lower taxes. But for the sake of argument, lets take California tax, which is high… in some districts its even 9% aprox. With that tax, the perfume still costs less than in Europe with current exchange rates applied cuz it lands at 281,22 US dollars for the 200ml edp. Now, my ACTUAL point was that Chanel generally charges a ton more for its perfumes in the US as opposed to the EU. Example being the les exclusifs range where the 200ml edps currently (November 2024) cost 400 Euro in Europe and the same perfumes cost 500 US dollars in the US. Now add the tax in the US to the 500 dollars and you almost get to 550 dollars for the 200ml les exclusifs edp bottle. Chanel charges you about 150 dollars more for the les exclusifs 200ml in the states while it charges you a few dollars LESS for the No5 200ml edp. This is a rare treat. Do you understand now? I really don’t want to have to explain this again. Please next time listen better to what I say in my video and do some research on your own. Calculate the exchange rates and the taxes on your own. Also do your own research on prices of chanel les exclusifs perfumes in different countries. Google can be your friend if you are not lazy and actually use it to do your research. I am not responsible for your education or ignorance. The only reason I wrote this comment is because your comment felt like a sort of passive aggressive attack towards me, as if I did not do my research correctly and were somehow misinforming you. You were the one who did not do their research correctly and missed my point completely.
